Up for sale is my 1999 GMC Yukon Denali,

Please read the entire description which describes everything about this vehicle. Please message me with any and all questions I will answer them quickly. All offers will be entertained I do not have the automatic offer set on the auction so feel free to shoot me a offer.

I have owned it for the past couple of years, I have put just around 3k miles on it since I purchased it, the truck mainly sits in the driveway as I travel out of town every week. I drive it 30 miles each way to the airport once a week if I actually drive there or 4 miles each way to my shop.

The body is in great shape there are some light scuffs and a very small ding on the door which is normal for a 15 year old truck. There is a tiny rust spot above the windshield on the drivers side about the size of a nickle, it is just a paint bubble and has not grown at all and is solid. There is a small dent on the front of the hood it is about  4- 5 inches long, the front plastic lower cover has been repaired on the passenger side right under the fog lamp, This all happened prior to me purchasing the truck so I cannot tell you what happened.

The Truck has a new distributor, cap and rotor and spark plugs, the rear end gasket was changed out about a year ago the belt tensioner was done last fall as well. The battery was replaced last year too.

The interior is in good shape, there are no major tears in the seats, the drivers seat is worn as shown and the steering wheel has some wear on it, the carpets could use a good cleaning. The visors have mirrors in them one of the covers is detached but in place to keep the light off, another cover on the rear console is missing.  I have not smoked in the truck but a handful of times as my kids do ride in it so there is no cigarette smell it just smells like a 15 year old truck there are no burns in it either.

The All wheel drive and 4 high and 4 low all work fine they were tested all winter.

It has a towing package the trailer light connector does work.

The tires have some good life left on the treads on all four.

There are a couple of things that need to be repaired if desired I have not done it since I bought the truck because they are a non issue for me.

The Air Conditioner - The rear evaporator hose has deteriorated, you can find one for about $75 on amazon. The compressor works I charged it and it blew cold air just fine until the freon leaked out of the hose.

Squeaky Belt -  The belt has a squeak when it is cold and goes away, a belt can be found for $15 on eBay.

Oil Pan - The gasket is seeping at the front and rear of the pan but it does not drip on the ground it is just damp. I would replace the gasket and throw a new pan on the truck, the drain plug threads are a bit weak as well.

The in dash CD player does not work, There is a 6 disc changer in the front console that works just fine, the cd player can be found cheap on ebay if needed.

The key fob does not work and the power locks do work but the front doors sometimes do not lock with the power lock.

The passenger mirror has some discoloration as the heater in it malfunctioned before I owned it.

There are NO Returns or Warranty on this truck, it is 15 years old. If the truck sells, the final price is it and I will not back off the sale price do not waste my time if that is your plan.  I also have this listed locally and may end the auction if I get a cash in hand offer.

Surprise! GM putting aluminum in next-gen pickups

Wed, Aug 5 2015

Last month, General Motors launched a series of ads touting the benefits of steel over aluminum – specifically, with regard to the Chevy Silverado versus the Ford F-150. (Kind of. We're not sure what a grizzly bear has to do with anything.) We took issue with the ads, with editor in chief Mike Austin saying they "reek of insecurity, and distract from the Silverado's strengths that could be used for positive advertising." But what bothers us more, is that yet another report surfaced claiming anti-aluminum GM will indeed use the weight-saving material in its next-generation fullsize trucks. On Tuesday, GM announced a $877-million investment for its truck plant in Flint, MI. But Reuters says that huge overhaul is because the trucks will use "substantially different equipment than the tools GM uses today." The report specifically states, "People familiar with the company's plans say GM's next-generation pickups and SUVs will make use of various materials, including aluminum and lightweight steel, to shed weight and gain fuel efficiency to meet tougher federal standards." The Silverado already uses a few aluminum components in the engine and hood, and if more widespread use will help GM build its best fullsize trucks ever, then that's great. Honestly, we have no reason to doubt that aluminum will be used in the next Silverado and GMC Sierra. We just hope GM remembers that nothing is ever truly deleted from the bowels of the Internet when it launches the subsequent "look how great aluminum is!" campaign. GM diesel pickups first to undergo extra EPA, CARB testing

Tue, Sep 29 2015

The effects of Volkswagen's long-running diesel emissions evasion are starting to spill over to other automakers, but General Motors is taking things in stride. The 2.8-liter, four-cylinder Duramax in the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon is the first engine to get extra scrutiny by the Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board, Automotive News reports. Rather than just the usual in-lab test, it's also being checked on the road. However, the extra evaluation shouldn't have any impact on when the trucks with his mill hit dealers later this fall. "We're in our final stages of the EPA certification, and our launch is on track," Chevy spokesperson Otie McKinley tells Autoblog. The four-cylinder diesel in the trucks makes 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, and the automaker is touting low NOx production. In the announcement for the Colorado's specs, the company calls it "the cleanest diesel truck engine ever produced by General Motors." The tech includes exhaust gas recirculation to lower combustion temperatures and improve emissions. There's also a urea tank like on the bigger diesels for full-size trucks, and it gets refilled in time with oil changes. An indication on the instrument panel lets drivers know when that's needed, too. Even with the more demanding testing, the company doesn't seem too worried about the four-cylinder passing. "Part of our development process is on-road and off-road [laboratory] testing," Scott Yackley, Chevy Trucks assistant chief engineer, said to Automotive News. In the wake of the VW scandal, the EPA has pledged more rigorous testing. Before, on-road emissions evaluations were largely limited to heavy-duty vehicles, but the agency has decided to apply the checks more often to other models. There's also now greater cooperation with Canadian authorities.

GM shows off 'digital vehicle platform' enabling more in-car tech and OTA updates

Wed, May 22 2019

It appears to have dropped the sobriquet "Global B," but General Motors' new electrical architecture has bowed in drawings and video. This is the "digital vehicle platform" GM president Mark Reuss spoke to Reuters about in 2015, saying it would move a great deal of a vehicle's computer work to the cloud and enable over-the-air updates. Reuss took the microphone for the debut, too, saying, "Our new digital vehicle platform and its eventual successors will underpin all our future innovations across a wide range of technological advancements, including EVs and expanded automated driving." The system will go into production later this year, appearing in dealerships first either on the 2020 Cadillac CT5 or the mid-engined 2020 Chevrolet Corvette. Yes, these are the same electronics cited for delaying the launch of the C8 Corvette over excessive draw, security and getting the more-than-100 computer modules to communicate seamlessly. When Car and Driver asked about that, GM replied with "No comment." Volkswagen's having the same issues with the Mk8 Golf right now, though, so GM isn't alone, and this will be the new normal among OEMs for a while. What's certifiable is that the new architecture is robust enough to handle 4.5 terabytes of data per hour, which is five times what GM's current wiring can handle. And thanks to Ethernet connections of 100 Mbps, 1 Gbs and 10 Gbs, communication within and without the vehicle happens much faster. The advances mean better screen resolutions, better battery management for hybrids and electric vehicles, the capability for over-the-air updates and "functionality upgrades throughout the lifespan of the vehicle." Cadillac's Super Cruise has already been lined up as a leading candidate for constant improvements in the driving assistance suite, a key part of GM's "vision for a world with zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion." And whenever GM decides to take the plunge, it will mean a 48-volt electrical system. More than 300 specialists worked on the digital platform, and security was a huge part of the task. We've already heard that GM consulted with Boeing and military contractors on how to prevent hacking. The carmaker has an internal Product Cybersecurity group that reached out to the research community, and created a "bug bounty" program to crowdsource uncovering any flaws.
