1977 GMC Sierra Classic Suburban
454 4bbl, SM465 Granny Box 4 speed, New Process 205 transfer case, Corp 14 rear end with 4.10 and G80 Limited Slip, Dana 44 H/D front axle, tilt steering, factory a/c, 6 passenger seating, barn doors, dual battery trays with isolator, grille guard, lift kit, old school turbine mags, 33x12.50r16.5 BFG Mud Terrain KM tires(deep tread, but weathered), trailer tow package, cordova brown metalic.
I bought this truck from the 2nd owner, and original owner special ordered this truck and added the 454 to it. I had intentions of using this truck as a cummins donor project truck, but time is not on my side, too much going on, and no donor diesel yet either.
As far as the body and interior...the interior is original, and not torn up, but is 37 years old...so she needs some rehab. The paint is the original paint, and appears to have had some front end work at some point, as the fenders and hood look a little different color wise...the paint is done, it is thin, and does shine for what is left. The truck does have some surface rust, and it does have one rust thru spot on the left rear wheel area lower portion, consistant with gravel rock rust, but it is only on that corner... It does have some bumps and bruses, but it is a sold old truck that deserves a restoration.
I would say that the mileage has rolled over one time, possibly twice....but it looks too nice to 200k+...
The truck spent its life in central california and the sierra foothills, and is currently on a non-op with the DMV, and I have a clear signed off title from the previous owner ready.
The truck does seem to run decent considering that the fuel is 7 years old, and will yard drive with a new battery, and should load on a trailer without.
The truck is sold without any guarantee, and is "AS-IS" where is.
its located currently in Dinuba, Ca 93618
I will do my best to assist in the loading, shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.

GM renders new Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon pickups

Thu, 08 Aug 2013

At a series of industry seminars in Traverse City, MI today, General Motors executive vice president Dan Ammann gifted us with our first glimpse of the upcoming midsize pickup range from Chevrolet and GMC.
Just two slivers of nose are all we can see of the soon-to-be announced Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon, though the teaser image does make plain that the pair will follow the styling cues (at least up front) found on big brothers Silverado and Sierra.
GM hasn't given us much in the way of detail in its ultra-brief press release that accompanied the teaser image, which is to be expected. We're told only that the pair of trucks are designed to be "capable, versatile and fuel-efficient alternatives to full-size pickups" and that production will start sometime in 2014, at the Wentzville, MO assembly center.

Watch GM's new pickup crash its way to five-star NHTSA ratings

Thu, 09 Jan 2014

General Motors has just scored a big win with its Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks, acing the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration New Car Assessment Program. The two full-size trucks had already netted a five-star Overall Vehicle Score in their crew-cab variants, but the new testing certifies them as five-star trucks in both regular and double-cab bodystyles, so GM's trucks offer top ratings across the board.
"Our incredibly capable trucks have been engineered to be some of the safest," Gay Kent, GM's general director of Vehicle Safety and Crashworthiness said. "We've designed the vehicle structure, strategically placed high-strength steel and developed the occupant restraint system to achieve high levels of safety performance."
The scores mark the Silverado and Sierra as the first pickups to net five-star scores since NHTSA beefed up their testing regime in 2011, a nice feather in GM's cap as it continues to slug out the pickup truck wars with crosstown rivals Ford and Ram.

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum.
