It could use some exhaust work but is not crazy loud (donut gasket leaks and the exhaust ends before the rear axle). The windshield is cracked, the power locks aren't working, the a/c isn't working, and there is no radio. The left rear barn door does not open. About 50% tread remaining on 33in BFGs."

1996 GMC Suburban - 3/4 ton 4wd - Great work truck/tow vehicle

1996 3/4 ton 4wd Suburban (454/7.4 liter gas). It has just over 223k on the body with around 100k on a motor/tranny rebuild. It's on 33 in BFGs with about 50% tread and wheels from an '08 3/4 ton truck. I have the center caps but haven't yet gotten external thread lug nuts to put them on. The body is in great shape with a few dings here and there, but it is much cleaner than most of this era (particularly the rockers). The interior is decent, the driver's seat has a tear and it shows overall wear consistent with age. Since I've had it I had front brakes redone (w/in last 500 miles), front windows repaired (motors/regulators), and new fuel pressure regulator. Tracks straight down the road and the front end doesn't have the usual slop common to this era. It could use some exhaust work but is drivable as-is (donut gasket leaks and the exhaust ends before the rear axle). It runs and drives great, but the boat and house project season is coming to an end and I don't need a truck this big. It's not perfect and could use some TLC, but is a great work truck that looks good and could easily be driven every day. Don't mean to make it sound bad, just want to be up front about everything. It just made an 800+ mile round trip without issue. It has a working brake box and trailer plug - tows great! I would personally drive it anywhere and have had my kids in it without a second thought. It's got a lot of life left, but there are a lot of great parts if someone were inclined to part it out.

Sold as-is, no warranty expressed or implied. I am not a mechanic and have described this to the best of my ability. If you have questions about the truck or you need more information about something in particular, please ask- don't assume something that isn't described. We do not have inspections or E-Check in my area of the state, so I cannot offer any guarantee about whether or not it will pass inspection and/or E-Check anywhere else. Local bidders are welcome and encouraged to come see the truck in person prior to bidding. The title reflects TMU due to the engine rebuild but is otherwise clear (not salvage or rebuilt). I reserve the right to end the listing early due to local sale.

No paypal, cash or certified funds (cashier's check or money order) only to be paid at pick up. The title will be transferred to the winning bidder at pick up and upon receipt of payment. I can assist with having the title notarized and ready to go. No shipping available, must be picked up in Worthington, Ohio 43085 within 14 days of auction end. I am happy to work with a shipper, but all arrangements (including quotes) and costs are the sole responsibility of the buyer. Bidders with a feedback score below 10 or negative feedback, please email before bidding.

Check my feedback and you'll see that I'm honest about my vehicles and easy to work with. Thanks for looking and let me know if you have any questions or would like to arrange to see it. Serious bidders are welcome to call or text (6 one 4) 98nine-7nine12 (I can respond to texts more quickly during the day due to my work schedule). If I miss your call I'll get back to you asap.

2019 GMC Sierra CarbonPro Edition pricing starts above $65,000

Fri, May 17 2019

GMC is hard at work building carbon fiber beds for its CarbonPro trucks, so it's fitting that the company has finally released pricing for the 2019 GMC Sierra CarbonPro Edition. It's not cheap by any measure. The most "affordable" for 2019 is the AT4 version starting at $66,635. It's also available in Denali trim, and that version starts at $70,020. Both represent an increase of $8,000 to $9,000 more over the base AT4 and Denali models. That may seem like a lot to go from a steel bed to a carbon fiber one, but you're getting more than the bed for that money. GMC also includes unique badging, a Bluetooth bed speaker, rear-camera mirror, surround vision cameras, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, automatic headlights, power side steps, a sunroof, trailer tire pressure monitoring and a color heads-up display to both models. The AT4 specifically gets a Bose sound system, navigation, parking sensors and a cat-back exhaust, too. The Denali adds unique 22-inch wheels. Both only come with the 6.2-liter V8 and 10-speed automatic. To equip a regular GMC Sierra AT4 similarly to the CarbonPro Edition, the price comes out to $64,110. The Denali comparably equipped to the CarbonPro is $67,940. So the bed itself is about $2,000 to $3,000. The 2019 GMC Sierra CarbonPro Edition trucks should be reaching dealers very soon. They will soon be supplanted by the 2020 version, which will add the new 3.0-liter diesel inline-six as an engine option. The AT4 CarbonPro will get some extra black accents for 2020, too.

United States drivers buying fewer Mexican-made cars

Tue, May 10 2016

Crossovers and pickup trucks are not only growing in market share, they're also more profitable than cars. A crossover on the same platform as a sedan retails for thousands more, despite similar components. It's one of the reasons we've seen automakers rapidly shifting production of their sedans and hatchbacks to Mexico, where cheap labor preserves the thin profit margins on these inexpensive vehicles. But as the market continues to shift in the United States, Mexico is getting burned by its lack of product diversity. The country's auto exports, which are heavy on cars, suffered a 16-percent drop last month, Automotive News reports. In total, year-over-year exports fell from 233,515 to 197,020 last month, while year-to-date exports are down by 7.4 percent, from 922,029 to 854,118. The number one culprit? America – which usually accounts for 75 percent of Mexico's exports – and its appetite for crossovers and pickup trucks bolstered by cheap gas prices. While Mexico does build some light truck models – AN specifically calls out the Ram 2500, Honda HR-V, GMC Sierra, and Toyota Tacoma as export leaders – the vast majority of vehicles rolling out of its factories are sedans and hatchbacks. In fact, the three biggest drops in Mexican exports came from companies whose south of the border factories only build cars – Ford (Fusion/Lincoln MKZ and Fiesta), Mazda (Mazda3), and Volkswagen (Golf and Jetta). Mexican Automotive Industry Association President Eduardo Solis told AN the export shortfall will likely be sorted out sooner rather than later, thanks to a pair of new factories – a Kia car factory and an Audi SUV plant – that are coming online by year's end. The two facilities will add around 100,000 vehicles to the country's export totals, which Solis said should leave the industry on the verge of breaking another export record in 2016. But how sustainable will these record-breaking years be? Slapping an "Hecho en Mexico" sticker on a new German SUV won't be enough to change the fact that Mexico's product mix is tilted too heavily towards body styles that are not growing in volume. Mexico's record-breaking export years probably aren't at an end, but we'd argue they're certainly under threat. 2018 Ford Expedition vs other big SUVs: How it compares on paper

Fri, Nov 10 2017

With our Alex Kierstein rightly impressed in his first-drive review of the new 2018 Ford Expedition, we decided to dig a little deeper into the numbers, and we came up with the spreadsheet below to highlight how the new 2018 Expedition compares on paper to its main full-size SUV competitors: the 2018 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban (and therefore the 2018 GMC Yukon), 2018 Toyota Sequoia and 2018 Nissan Armada. We also threw in the new, even bigger 2018 Chevrolet Traverse since, as you'll see, its massive dimensions should put it on the radar for anyone who needs loads of passenger and cargo space but doesn't care as much about towing. A few notes about the chart above. First, the 6.2-liter V8 that's included with the new-for-2018 Tahoe RST trim level is the standard engine on the GMC Yukon Denali. You can apply most of the Tahoe's numbers to the entire Yukon and Yukon XL lineup. Second, though we highlighted categories where the Traverse led, we also highlighted the runner-up full-size SUV, since this was ultimately about that segment. Traverse numbers are broadly applicable to the new Buick Enclave.
