Stock front and rear axels. New radiator, electric cooling fan, Vintage air, and Falken 33x12.5x15 tires with less than 10K. This was my daily driver and I bought the truck to restore, but have decided to give someone else the opportunity. I am the 4th owner. Vehicle is from Colorado and I did drive it back to TN. It runs and drives well. Recent brake work, and transfer case was serviced with new seals placed when the Vintage Air was installed in 2011. Seats were recovered by prior owner and I do have the rear bench seat, as well as the stock Delco AM radio. I also have a replacement windshield for the truck. New weather seals on front doors. Great truck that gets lots of compliments. Please contact me if you have any additional questions. I also have a new set of Eaton 3/4 ton springs front and rear with 2" lift that were made for this truck will sell if interested."

No restoration work has been done to the truck by me other than tires, AC, and some engine maintenance. Definitely a stock vehicle that needs some attention. Some rust at the bottom of the doors and body panels. Springs are stock 1962. Window seals need replacing. Speedo works. Needs new fuel sending unit and wiring. I have the stock clips for the sliding windows. Both front windows and vent windows work well. Prior owner had this vehicle for over 10 years and recovered seats and added floor liner and kick panels. Clutch is slipping some in 1st after you drive for a while, and needs to be replaced. I really intended to keep this truck as my kids love it for going camping and riding around town. But I need a newer vehicle for commuting and can't keep both. I bought this vehicle from a gentleman in Southern Colorado who stated that he thought the truck was originally a military vehicle. He was the 3rd owner and put on the barndoors on the rear and put in the 350. Said that it still had the stock 305 V6 when he bought it. I added the tires, new radiator and Vintage air shortly after buying the truck in 2010. AC needs charging. The transfer case has been overhauled with new seals added, and the truck had work to the brakes recently. I will be happy to answer any questions about the truck so please call. Buyer is responsible for any shipping. Truck runs well starts right up every time, but would consider a trailer for long distances. Thanks for looking.

GMC to get own model not shared with Chevy?

Mon, 20 Jan 2014

For years, GMC has existed as a brand without a single unique product, reconstituting Chevrolet trucks, SUVs and crossovers with more frosting in exchange for a few extra dollars. The Sierra is a Silverado, the Acadia a Traverse, and the Terrain an Equinox, although admittedly the latter pair are visually differentiated to a significant degree.
GMC could be set to expand beyond its Chevy-based roots, though. During last week's Detroit Auto Show press days, GM's product boss Mark Reuss was asked whether there'd ever be a GMC that wasn't taken from Chevy. "Oh, yes, you will," Reuss told the media. "The health of GMC is astonishingly good from a consideration standpoint." Reuss wouldn't elaborate on what the model could be, although we're quite happy to make some guesses. GMC has its bases fairly well covered, with a mid-size and full-size crossover, as well as a mid-size, full-size and HD pickup. We doubt GMC will be building a family sedan, sports car, or hatchback, so really, the only place we can see the brand going is into a smaller crossover.
Automotive News points out that the most recent small GMC showcar, the 2010 Granite concept (shown above), won't see production according to General Motors. That vehicle likely would have rode on GM's compact vehicle architecture, known internally as Gamma II, which underpins the Chevy Spark and Sonic, as well as the Buick Encore (and its overseas Opel/Vauxhall/Chevy counterparts).

Best and Worst GM Cars

Thu, Apr 7 2022

Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded.  While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.

GMC wants to target Jeep with compact crossover

Mon, Dec 14 2015

GMC execs might consider adding a Jeep competitor to the range, but rather than new rumors of a Wrangler-fighter, this time the Professional Grade brand could go after the Renegade. Division boss Duncan Aldred would like to broaden the brand's lineup with a subcompact crossover. "I keep telling everyone, 'How can General Motors' truck brand not be in the fastest-growing segment in the industry, an SUV segment," he said to Automotive News but wouldn't confirm whether the model was under development. General Motors already offers small crossovers like the Chevrolet Trax and Buick Encore, but the CUV segment in general continues to drive auto sales in the US. Adding a similarly sized GMC to the mix might increase the automaker's volume by appealing to different customers. "A GMC buyer is very different from a Buick buyer. This is like comparing the Fiat 500X to the Jeep Renegade. They are very similar but appeal to different people," Dave Sullivan, Product Analysis Manager at AutoPacific, told Autoblog. Aldred started the speculation about a Wrangler-fighting model in an interview in late 2014, and the company reportedly even raised the idea of an offroad-focused vehicle to dealers to see how they reacted. The development process was only in the very early planning stages, but the brand considered using Hummer for a little of the new product's inspiration. Aldred later suggested to journalists the possibility of adding a compact or midsize SUV to the GMC range in the next 10 years to appeal to more buyers. He didn't comment directly on the possibility of the Wrangler-challenger at the time beyond saying: "I can't confirm that ... everything's on the table." Related Video:
