Up for sale is my 1994 GMC Sonoma with a full air ride technoligies air suspension complete with upper and lower tubular control arms and air ride technologies shock waves on the front for a smoother ride, 2-3 gallon air tanks and 2 compressors. Fully shaved body including tailgate handle, third brake light, antenea, door handles, bumper and tail lights. Has cadilac tail lights now. The bed is cut in the center but is Rhino lined as well. Here is a list of new items in the truck with in the past 6 months alone. New door poppers, new digital air gauge, new stainless headers and stainless gibson exhaust, dual electric fans, Alpine CD, Alpine amp, 8" JL Sub, Kicker amp wires, alarm, radiator, thermostat, polished rad overflow, air intake, compressor leader hoses, power and ground cables to the compressors, 6.5" MB Quart Components, Orange LED underglow under the truck and in grill, HID headlights, optima red top battery, new pressure switch for the air tank, soft toneau, tint all the way around. Painted frame. Im sure I am forgetting a few things but you get the idea. The truck has 89xxx on the body but the new motor has 10xxx on it and runs perfect. Oil is changed regularly. Everything works with no issues. In the past few years, a new alt, starter and clutch were installed as well. Makes a great daily driver or just a fun little toy and a great daily driver. Has one ding on the roll pan and a few knicks here and there but nothing major or even really noticable. Its great on gas as well and even for a little 4 cylinder, it has some pep. Has leather interior with orange GMC logo stitched into the head rests. have the majority of the recipts for all work completed. Make an offer, the worst I can say is no. Not really in any rush and dont have to sell it but willing to listen to reasonable offers. Overall, its not a show truck but easily could be. To do the suspension alone would cost you over $5000 in parts so all in all, its a great deal. It does lay frame too. I reserve the right to end the auction early since the truck is for sale locally. Truck is being sold as is with no warranty implied. |

Detroit 3 to implement delayed unified towing standards for 2015
Tue, Feb 11 2014Car buyers have a responsibility to be well-informed consumers. That's not always a very simple task, but some guidelines are self-evident. If you live in a very snowy climate, you generally know a Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro might not be as viable a vehicle choice as an all-wheel drive Explorer or Traverse, for example. If you want a fuel-efficient car, it's generally a good idea to know the difference between a diesel and a hybrid. But what if it's kind of tough to be an informed consumer? What if the information you need is more difficult to come by, or worse, based on different standards for each vehicle? Well, in that case, you might be a truck shopper. For years, customers of light-duty pickups have had to suffer through different ratings of towing capacities for each brand. For 2015 model year trucks, though, that will no longer be a problem. According to Automotive News, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler Group have announced that starting with next year's models, a common standard will be used to measure towing capacity. The Detroit Three will join Toyota, which adopted the Society of Automotive Engineers' so-called SAE J2807 standards way back in 2011. The standard was originally supposed to be in place for MY2013, but concerns that it would lower the overall stated capacity for trucks led Detroit automakers to pass. Ford originally passed, claiming it'd wait until its new F-150 was launched to adopt the new standards, leading GM and Ram to follow suit. Nissan, meanwhile, has said it will adopt the new standards as its vehicles are updated, meaning the company's next-generation Titan should adhere to the same tow ratings as its competitors. While the adoption of SAE J2807 will be helpful for light-duty customers, those interested in bigger trucks will still be left with differing standards. There is no sign of the new tow standards being adopted for the heavy-duty market.
GM expanding Lansing Lambda CUV plant
Thu, 30 Oct 2014Considering that crossovers are a rapidly growing portion of the US auto market, it's not surprising to hear that General Motors is preparing to build even more of them. The company is investing $63 million to expand its Lansing Delta Township Assembly plant that builds Lambda platform CUVs like the Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave.
According to GM, the expansion will add roughly 263,000 extra square feet of space to the plant. Of that, 181,000 square feet will be for an updated body shop with cutting-edge robots. There will also be 54,000 square feet of additional room in the paint shop and 28,000 square feet of more area for general assembly.
GM isn't saying as much, but there is the possibility that this extra space could allow for additional models produced at the factory. Cadillac reportedly dropped plans to build a three-row SUV on the Lambda platform earlier this year, however, dealers for the luxury brand were recently pitched the possibility of adding large and small CUVs, an ATS convertible or a sedan below the ATS.
GM also sheds parts from its pickups to boost payload ratings
Thu, 31 Jul 2014The row between Ford and Ram over who boasts the best-in-class tow rating for heavy duty pickups has revealed a number of things. Chief among them is a report that Ford removes items like the spare tire, jack, radio and center console from its vehicles in a bid to lower its base curb weight and therefore keep the truck's gross vehicle weight rating down.
For those that need a refresher, GVWR is the vehicle's curb weight plus its maximum payload. A lower GVWR allows Ford to station its F-450 among the so-called Class III pickups, despite the fact that internally, it has the makings of a more brutish Class IV truck.
Ford explains away these deletions, saying a customer could order their vehicle in such a manner. It has also come to light that Ford is not the only automaker to engage in such practices.
