For sale we have a 2004 GMC Sierra 2500HD SLT 4x4. This truck was a recent trade in. The truck has a clean carfax with no accidents. The truck runs and drives great. We had the truck in our service department and serviced it all up and it is ready for a new owner. Upon inspection we put: 8 new injectors, seals, valve covers, fresh oil change and a new high pressure fuel pump, just parts alone cost us $3,000 with labor you would pay over $6,000. This truck should now run for another 200-k before it needs any major work. The 6.6L Duramax Turbo DIESEL motor fires right up with no issues, sounds healthy with no blow by and no head gasket issues. The allison automatic tranny shifts perfect with no issues. The 4x4 engages in and out with easy. The truck comes with aluminum ladder rack. The outside body shows some nicks and marks here and there which is normal for a truck this age with this miles. The interior has the SLT package which means the truck has all the options. Over all this is a great healthy running truck that is ready for its new owner. TERMS OF SALE

Through the first six months of 2014, General Motors has recalled 29 million cars and trucks in 54 different actions. If your author's notoriously sketchy math is correct, that'd work out to one recall every 3.5 days (as of this writing). GM is actively fighting to make sure there isn't a 55th recall, though.
Safety critics, including perennial nemesis Clarence Ditlow of the Center for Auto Safety, are calling on GM to recall a further six million pickup trucks and SUVs in northerly climes due to corroding brake lines caused by the use of road salt. There is a catch, here, though - the vehicles in question are over 10 years old, and include the 1999 to 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, Suburban and GMC Sierra, as well as the 2000 to 2003 Tahoe and Yukon (shown above).
GM issued the following statement on the matter, obtained by CNN Money:
Sat, 09 Aug 2014
The stiff punishments are part of broader transportation legislation, but clearly McCaskill has automakers in her sights.
Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill threw down the gauntlet this week, proposing a bill that could send auto executives to prison for life if they were found to have delayed a recall. She also wants to eliminate the limit for fines for auto safety violations, which are currently capped at $35 million.

In the market for a fullsize van but don't need a heavy-duty model? You're in the minority, and you're also out of luck. That's because there are barely any more fullsize vans on the market with gross vehicle weight rating of less than 8,500 pounds, the threshold that separates light- and heavy-duty vans.
According to PickupTrucks.com, neither the Ford E-Series, Ram ProMaster, nor Mercedes-Benz Sprinter are available in light-duty versions. Few of the Ford Transit configurations are, either, and now General Motors is discontinuing production of the 1500-series Chevy Express and GMC Savana.
Apparently light-duty versions accounted for just 23 percent of Express sales and only 7 percent of Savanas. Add to that the fact that these 1500 versions were the only ones using the old generation of engines and suspension, and that the Wentzville plant near St. Louis, Missouri, is trying to make room for the next Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups, and the fate of the light-duty GM van was sealed.
