Up for sale today is my 2006 GMC 2500HD 4x4.  It has 108,000 miles and counting as it is my daily driver.  It has brand new fiberwerx front and rear fiberglass prerunner style  fenders (front fenders and rear bedsides). Has body color painted mirrors and door handles. New tinted windows and lights.  Front and rear custom made prerunner tube bumpers with front skid plate.  Has custom made trailer hitch in the rear with factory seven wire plug.  Has brand new pads and rotors front and rear (rear disc brakes).  4 brand new custom made for the truck trail ready 17 inch beadlock rims.  4 brand new 33 12.50r17  explorer procomp all terrain tires. The interior is bone stock and super nice cloth bucket seats and center console .  Has 6.0 vortec gasoline engine with brand new acdelco iridium spark plugs and MSD spark plug wires.  Cold air intake.  The ECM was tuned by speartech and has a hot tune in it which gives you more power and better gas mileage.  The suspension is cognito motorsports front upper control arms and shock hoops with dual bilstien shocks.  Also has cognito motorsports big tie rod end upgrade with limit straps and sway bar links.  The rear suspension is factory springs with bilstien shocks. Spray in bedliner .  Has brand new gm electric dual fan conversion which frees up some horsepower and helps the gas mileage. The truck runs up and down the road perfect as a daily driver and is a lot of fun to play around with offroad.  I have upgraded everything in this truck so that it can be daily driven and offroaded. Everything has been done to the truck this year and I have the receipts . I have never beaten it offroad since it always has to pull a camper back home. I also have three more matching custom made wheels brand new in the box that will go with it . I was going to have 1 spare tire and two paddle tires . I do not have tires for the rims . I don't really want to sell the truck, but my current situation requires me to do so.  I am sure I am forgetting plenty of things that I have done to the truck so feel free to call me at 815- seven one two six nine six zero with any questions.

GM confirms 2015 Silverado, Sierra to get 8-speed automatic

Fri, 18 Jul 2014

When viewed alongside the next Ford F-150 and the Ram 1500, there is one thing that seems to be missing from the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. Where the F-150 will rely on turbocharging and aluminum architecture and the Ram sports an eight-speed automatic and an air suspension, the General Motors twins lack a big, calling-card feature. They're very good, very refined trucks, but one could argue that they're not terribly innovative.
And while it might not be as flashy a feature as air suspension or a lightweight skin, the Silverado and Sierra will get their own eight-speed automatic for 2015, a transmission that will be paired with the company's Ecotec3 6.2-liter V8. The new cogswapper will also find its way into the GMC Yukon Denali, but for now, there's no indication why the Cadillac Escalade, Suburban, Tahoe and standard Yukon are being left out.
According to GM, the new gearbox is about the same size and weight as the current Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed. By the time the new powertrain combination enters production late this year, the EPA will almost certainly have gotten around to certifying the vehicles' fuel efficiency. Until then, feel free to speculate. The current Silverado with the 6.2 and six-speed auto returns 14 miles per gallon in the city and 20 on the highway. How much do you think the eight-speed will improve those figures? Scroll down for the official press blast from General Motors, and then head into Comments.

2021 GMC Terrain spied on GM's Proving Grounds

Mon, Jun 3 2019

As the Chevrolet Equinox changes, so does the GMC Terrain. We saw shots of an updated Equinox not too long ago, and now our spy shooters have caught the GMC version of the crossover testing inside GM's Milford Proving Grounds. Similar to the Equinox, the Terrain is due for a mid-cycle refresh soon. Unfortunately, GM has this compact crossover covered up heavily to make sure we can't tell what's coming yet. The midsection of the vehicle remains the same as before, and we can even see the floating roof design outlined in the back by the camouflage. We imagine the majority of the changes will come up front with a new fascia including a different grille and headlight design. If it adopts the latest from the bigger Acadia, we'll be looking at a much more upright and butch-looking grille. That look descends from the full-size Sierra, though, so we'll see how much truck GMC wants to put in its small crossover. What will be most interesting of all is if GMC sticks to its guns with the wacky push-button shifter on the dash. The weird design has received mixed feedback, and this would be GMC's first big opportunity to respond. However, we expect most interior changes to be kept to a minimum, as this is only a mid-cycle refresh — GM completely redid everything for the full redesign in 2018. Additionally, we'll be interested to hear if the diesel will continue to be available as an option going forward. We'll likely see the refreshed Terrain sometime after the next Equinox is revealed. As it stands, this Terrain is probably a 2021 model year vehicle, and will be revealed at the tail end of this year, or in early 2020.

Alaska 7.0 earthquake uproots road but leaves vehicle completely intact

Fri, Nov 30 2018

A magnitude-7 earthquake hit the Anchorage, Alaska area hard Friday morning and actually caused the National Weather Service to issue a tsunami warning it later canceled. As the news came rolling in, we noticed these photos of a road affected by the quake. The pictures are jaw-dropping, and we still can't believe that GMC Terrain is sitting there entirely unscathed. It looks like a scene straight out of an action movie when Earth is unexplainably collapsing all around the main characters as they race for safety. It probably wouldn't have mattered if the driver had the four-cylinder or V6 to try and escape the massive sinkhole. However, maybe Alaskans could consider the Lamborghini Urus to outrun collapsing roads if they're in the market for an all-wheel-drive SUV. Thankfully, there are no deaths or even injuries being reported as of now, but damage to buildings and roads is severe in some spots. We still can't believe how lucky this person is. It looks like some industrious folks were even able to pull the GMC out of its sinkhole completely intact too. Impressive. We'll keep you updated if there are any developments to this disaster.
