2004 Gmc Sierra 2500 Hd Regular Cab Pickup on 2040-cars
Los Alamos, New Mexico, United States
2004 GMC Sierra 2500 HD Regular Cab Pickup 6.0 Liter V8, 139K Miles, Automatic Transmission, 2WD, 8 ft Bed, ABS (4-Wheel), Power Steering, Tilt Wheel, Cold A/C, Cruise Control, CD Player, Dual Air Bags, Towing Package, Bed Liner, Weatherguard 80 Gallon Transfer Tank, Weatherguard Tool Box, Headache Rack, Rooftop Safety Light (I Purchased the Transfer Tank, Tool Box, Headache Rack, & Rooftop Safety Light New as a Package at a Price of $1680. They are Good Quality.) Last week I took this truck into the Napa Service
Department and had them perform a full safety inspection. The ratings they
provide are good, fair, or bad. I have the invoice and inspection sheet for
your records. They categorized the following areas as good: front suspension,
brakes front, brakes rear, drive belts, hoses, cooling system, exhaust system,
CV boots & drive train, battery & cables. They categorized the
following areas as fair: alignment, shocks & struts. The only area on the
whole truck they categorized as poor was the tires. The tires are at about
30-40%. When they performed this inspection I had them fix everything they
found questionable. They replaced the door handles, tailgate handle, some
control module connectors (yes, I had them inspect all of the electrical), the
steering shaft, and repaired the heat shield. This is a very solid truck. 85%
of the miles are highway miles and all maintenance has been performed on a
regular basis. I have the clear & clean title in hand. This truck has never
been involved in an accident.

GM updating fullsize pickups for 2015
Sat, 10 May 2014As Ford prepares to hit the market with its x-factor, aluminum-intensive F-150 and Ram sales stand tall enough to meet General Motors truck sales eye-to-eye, GM is putting the word out that it's going to add more features to its trucks and do so more regularly. An executive engineer for pickups told reporters that "a whole array" of changes are on the way as soon as the 2015 model year and then would likely come "the year after that, the year after that, the year after that."
Only GM knows the way it plans to go with its fullsize trucks, with almost everyone else - including its dealers - griping about market share at the same time as they applaud profits and hope for clarity and growth. GM raised prices on the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra not long after launch even as it was losing market share and getting called "the least successful large pickup launch over the last 15 years," further upsetting dealers, then Ram outsold the Silverado in March of this year and led GM to increase incentives. But transaction prices rose with the premium; in the first quarter of this year more than 37 percent of the trucks costing more than $40,000 were the Silverado and Sierra, leading one dealer to say of the Sierra, "You can't sell a cheap one," and the analyst who made that "least successful launch" comment to opine, "GM may have made the right call to go for price over share."
We won't know for a few months what any of these updates will be, but the rumored changes for the Silverado and Sierra appear to cover all the bases, including appearance, capability and fuel economy. Rumors run to higher gear counts, stop-start technology and diesel engines before brand-new pickups come for the 2019 model year, those next-generation models supposedly to be engineered with a lot more aluminum.
Pickup sales may hit 2M units for first time since 2007
Sat, 21 Sep 2013Even as fuel prices creep back up, trucks are still a hot item among new-vehicle shoppers. To see how popular pickup trucks still are, you don't have to look any further than how much effort automakers put into the continual one-upmanship of their trucks. Backing this fact up, USA Today is reporting that the segment could top two million sales this year - a total not matched since 2007, though still far from the pre-recession, three-million-unit levels.
Through August, the Ford F-Series continues to be the segment leader with almost 500,000 units sold, but the Chevy Silverado (328,269), Ram 1500 (234,642), GMC Sierra (122,232) and Toyota Tacoma (110,293) are all seeing at least 20-percent sales increases, helping to account for around 1.44 million truck sales so far this year - not including possible outliers like the Suzuki Equator and Chevy Avalanche.
This year alone, General Motors has completely redesigned its fullsize trucks, Ram and Toyota have significantly updated their offerings, the next-gen Ford F-150 will be out next year and Nissan is promising an all-new Titan around the same time with an eventual Cummins diesel under the hood. It would seem, then, that truck sales are poised to continue their upward trend.
MotorWeek looks back at 1995 Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon
Sat, Jun 20 2015MotorWeek's Retro Review series gives us a nostalgic look back at some of the best sports cars and luxury sedans available in the 1980s and '90s. For its latest clip, the show shifts gears to remember the 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. Similar to the success of crossovers today, SUVs were tallying big sales and making big money for automakers in the mid-'90s. The Tahoe and Yukon filled slots in the market as steps down from the larger Suburban. These twins weren't wanting for space, though, with plenty of room to haul around a family. MotorWeek came away generally impressed too, and called the models some "of the better riding sport utilities we've ever experienced." This review comes with some jazzy, electric guitar licks to enjoy in the background.
