2007 GMC Sierra SLT Duramax Diesel w/ 6.6L turbo. 132k miles. Clean w/ many upgrades. Brand new Line-X bedliner (it's literally 1 week old), both batteries replaced last month, K & N air filter added early in the truck's life, Kenwood in dash DVD/Navigation/Backup Camera/Bluetooth system, Bose factory stereo, 6 month old Leveling Kit & 33" BFG mud terrain tires that have about 10k miles on them, WeatherTech floor mats (tubs), Bilstein offroad front shocks, Allison Transmission. I am the original owner, I have treated this truck with care, like one of my own children. All maintenance done like clockwork. Fuel filter changed frequently throughout the truck's life. Both U Joints on rear axle replaced recently. I also have factory radio that will sell w/ truck. You will not find a truck with similar mileage more mechanically sound than this. I have never had any major probems. Hate to sell but I don't use its towing capabilities very much & I can't justify buying diesel anymore, this will be the perfect truck for someone who needs to tow frequently with work or play. The truck has been used for towing only occasionally throughout its life & MIGHT have been in 4 wheel drive 5 times total. Most of the truck's miles are on pavement with nothing being towed.  Please email me with any questions, only serious inquries please. Cash or certified check required. There are some typical minor flaws that you would expect to find in any 7 year old truck that I will be glad to disclose, but no major surprises. My plan was to keep the truck for 250k miles +, and it has been cared for in a manner that would result in it lasting a long time.

2013 GMC Acadia Denali

Wed, 05 Jun 2013

Refreshed, Not Refreshing
I'm probably ill-suited to accurately and fairly take the full measure of a vehicle like the 2013 GMC Acadia Denali. This is a machine conjured around the express notion of corralling and then herding a brood of rafter-swinging hatchlings to and fro in relative comfort, and with no such passel of wee Bowmans to call my own, it's difficult to give this rig a fair shake. While I can certainly weigh cargo capacity, legroom and fuel economy stats with the best of them, I'd be lying to your face if I said the word "crossover" didn't urge some uncontrollable Pavlovian recoil from the murky recesses of my frame. To put it simply, I just can't stand the damn things.
As a rule, the segment is built on a bed of compromise. Manufacturers love nothing more than to spin up a tired yarn about the virtues of this particular neck of the market. We're told the crossbreeds deliver all the ride quality, driving dynamics and fuel economy of a car married with the seating position, capability and interior volume of the SUV set. That all sounds as swell as a sunset, but as the 2013 Acadia Denali so artfully illustrates, the advertising on the box is rarely congruous with the prize inside. Even with an imaginary squad of younglings at my heels, the refreshed luxury crossover doesn't quite manage to scratch the promised itches.

GM will no longer remove parts from trucks to calculate curb weights

Fri, 08 Aug 2014

Following last week's mild uproar after it was discovered that Ford and General Motors were removing some optional parts from their pickups to lower the curb weight and consequently increase the maximum payload, GM has come out and committed to a base curb weight for its upcoming Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon compact trucks (although it has yet to publish them) and its current Silverado and Sierra. The company will do the same for its heavy duty offerings, although those numbers have not been finalized yet.
"This will make our curb weight and payload specs more consistent with those of most other truck makers, making it easier for customers to compare vehicles," GM spokesman Tom Wilkinson told Autoblog in an emailed statement.
As GM notes - and as every manufacturer has noted since this story broke - customers still shouldn't take max payload ratings as gospel. Instead, they should refer to their truck's Tire and Load Label, like the one shown at the inset, which will offer detailed information on max payload, specific to their truck.

GM might outsource vans to AM General

Thu, Nov 26 2015

General Motors will possibly boost production of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon at the Wentzville Assembly Plant in Missouri by contracting out some commercial van manufacturing to AM General. Demand for the two midsize trucks continues to boom, and GM would like to take advantage of the strong market for them. The possible deal came to light in a letter to workers at the factory, according to Automotive News. "This potential partnership would free up production capacity and allow the organization to capitalize on our ability to build midsize trucks to further satisfy customer demand," a portion of the document allegedly said. AM General would reportedly only take over assembly of the cutaway versions of the Chevy Express and GMC Savana. Customers and critics have quickly embraced the latest Colorado and Canyon since their introduction. The Chevy just won back-to-back Motor Trend Truck of the Year awards. GM also had to add a third shift and extra workers in 2014 just to keep up with demand. The Wentzville plant even increased employment on the weekends earlier in 2015 to assemble an extra 2,000 of the trucks each month. While the two pickups boom, deliveries for the Chevy Express and GMC Savana are down 26.9 percent and 26.6 percent respectively through the first 10 months of the year. GM doesn't break out numbers for the cutaway versions, but they make up about a third of production, according to Automotive News. AM General built the Humvee for the US military and does some contract work with automakers. For example, the company's Indiana factory now produces the Mercedes-Benz R-Class for export to China. Here's hoping this potential deal will help both GM and AM General keep their factories humming. Related Video:
