Runs great!"

Truck runs great.  I bought it from an x-employee after I paid $1,700 for a new transmission in it.  I cleaned and repaired items as I was going to keep it forever.  My wife just got a new job and needs a new car so my truck has to go.  I replaced the transmission.  Entire exhaust system is new.  I had rusted body parts removed, replaced and painted. (wish now I would have painted the entire truck as you can see a slight difference in the newer part compared to the old)  In have installed new 10 ply tires 1,00 miles ago.  Brakes have been redone with many of the brake lines.  Front seat has a hole in it (see picture) so I have installed a front seat cover.  I have been driving it a good bit so I have also added a chip to help with the gas mileage.  The truck does show minor signs of wear with scratches, dents and dings but overall looks good.  My next project was to replace the front and rear bumpers.  I front one has a hole in it (see picture) and the back is a little dinged up.  I was also going to replace the windshield as the old owner ran the wipers without blades and scratched it.  The truck runs GREAT!  The 4 wheel drive works good.  This truck is ready for work, mud or snow.  Let me know if you have any other questions.

2015 Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon airbag problem causes recall

Tue, 14 Oct 2014

The recall affects 2,432 vehicles, though only 138 had actually reached consumers.
General Motors quickly fixed an airbag-wiring problem with the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, but is still conducting a small recall to repair the midsize trucks that are launching this fall.

Despite strong profits, GM still fighting flat market share

Fri, Jan 17 2014

Looking at the progress General Motors has made since it entered bankruptcy, it's easy to forget that the company still has a long way to go before it's the juggernaut it once was. A recent report from Reuters points out that, while GM is making money, it isn't making any gains in terms of US market share. Quite the opposite, really. Consider this factoid: In 1963, nearly half of the cars sold in the United States were from Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, GMC or Pontiac. Now, the company's US market share is stagnant at 17.9 percent. That same number is half of just Chevy's 1963 market share. This is all despite GM going on a binge replacing or updating its models. "Market share increases are not instantaneous," Mark Reuss told Reuters at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. "We've got a lot of baggage. Don't underestimate what people though of us, or these brands, through these hardships and 30 years." The reasons for the stagnant market share are numerous. Reuters points out that retooling of factories and a focus on limiting incentives are both good things for profit, but not necessarily for market share. There's also the troubling turnover of the brand's marketing department. These issues don't change the fact that Chevrolet has lost 1.4 percent of its market share in two years, and that Cadillac - arguably GM's most improved brand overall - has lost 1.2 percent in the same period. Part of that can be blamed on GM's avoidance of fleet sales in favor of more profitable customer sales. "Our focus has really been on retail and that's where we've got the growth," said Alan Batey, GM's interim global marketing boss. "We want to grow GM and that means growing market share and profits, but it's not at all costs," Reuss said. GM tinkering with Silverado, Sierra model mix amidst strong early sales

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

Variety, as they say, is the spice of life. That's a lesson that is currently being taught to General Motors, because despite a strong showing from its 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, the General's pickup sales still can't best those of cross-town rival Ford.
With 59,163 trucks moved, GM fell just over 1,000 units short of toppling Ford, and one of the main reasons for that, according to GM's chief sales analyst, was due to a lack of variety in the engines and body styles available on dealer lots. "We are still over-weighted toward crew-cab V8 trucks. Our light-duty mix will moderate over time as our launch progresses," said Kurt McNeil.
Loading dealers with the popular combination of the 5.3-liter V8 and the four-door, Crew Cab body style was intentional during the truck's launch, but as supplies of leftover 2013 models, which are being sold at heavy incentives, are beginning to wane, both budget-conscious and high-dollar buyers are looking elsewhere instead of at the volume model pickups.
