1989 Gmc Sierra 1500 Sle on 2040-cars
Jonesboro, Arkansas, United States
Up For Sale is a 1989 GMC Sierra SLE, 5.7 liter, automatic, pw, pl, tilt, criuse, am/fm cassette, shortbed truck that has had one adult owner all its 185k mile life. This truck has been very well maintained/serviced all its life and is a very dependable vehicle. As you can see in the photos, the truck needs a paint job...if you know anything about the 89 and 90 model GMC and Chevrolet trucks, then you are familier that they had a factory problem with the paint on them and this one is/was no exception. GM paid to have this vehicle repainted years back, but it has since started peeling again. This truck has a very straight body and the only damage I can ever remember it having was a tree limb fell on the drivers side fender and the edge of the hood years ago during some icing and it was repaired immediatly and was very minor. This truck has spent most of its existance not knowing it was a truck and has never been in any type of strain hauling or pulling anything other than a small boat and a small utility trailer a couple of times. This truck was purchased brand new by my Uncle whom recently approached me and said it was time to part with it as he never drives it anymore and it just sits around. As you see it in the photos is exactly as he stepped out of it...I did not wash it, vacuum it or clean it up as I wanted you to see it in its everyday clothes. I do not think you could ask for a better, more reliable older truck that has never had any of the factory equiptment changed or altered in anyway. The a/c is not blowing cold and I did not check it and see why, I'm not gonna blow smoke up your butt and tell you it just needs charged when I don't have a clue, but that may be the case...other than the paint and A/C, I do not feel that you can find fault anywhere else on this truck. Very desirable year and very good condition for the year. I do not need help selling it.... $500 deposit via paypal at the end of the auction....DO NOT SEND ENTIRE AMOUNT VIA PAYPAL...BALANCE IS TO BE IN CASH AT MY RESIDENCE WHEN YOU PICK UP THE VEHICLE PERIOD...NO EXCEPTIONS...ANYTHING OTHER THAN THESE TERMS WILL VOID OUR AGREEMENT AND RESULT IN NEGATIVE FEEDBACK. If you need it shipped, bring me cash, go pay the transportation company for shipping and have them pick it up. I hope that does not come off sounding too rude, it's just the way I want it.

Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra 4.3-liter EcoTec3 V6 nets 18 mpg city, 24 highway
Wed, 19 Jun 2013There is no doubting that fuel economy has become an important factor in the highly competitive fullsize truck market, with the Ford F-150 EcoBoost V6 and Pentastar V6-powered Ram 1500 setting quite a precedent in recent years. Now it's General Motors' turn. The General has just announced that the new base V6 used in the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 models will return an EPA-estimated 18 mpg city and 24 mpg highway in two-wheel drive trim, regardless of cab configuration.
While these figures don't go so far as to earn GM any "best-in-class" fuel economy claims (thanks to the 25-mpg Ram 1500 HFE), this new 4.3L EcoTec3 V6 does edge the F-150 and Toyota Tundra while boasting best-in-class numbers for torque, payload and towing capacity among six-cylinder rivals. This all-new engine produces 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque, and it gives the 2014 Silverado and Sierra the highest towing rating among standard V6 models with a 7,200-pound towing capacity - besting the Ram by 700 pounds, the base F-150 by 1,100 pounds and coming within 200 pounds of the V8-powered Nissan Titan. Scroll down for the official press releases from Chevrolet and GMC.
GMC Canyon will debut in Detroit
Fri, 20 Dec 2013With the debut of the Chevrolet Colorado at November's Los Angeles Auto Show, perhaps it was only a matter of time before we saw the small truck's GMC counterpart. That time will be January, as we've received official confirmation that the GMC Canyon will be revived at next month's North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The news came in the latest issue of the Detroit Auto Show's newsletter, NAIAS Connect. The article hasn't been posted online quite yet, but it details the Canyon as one of the world production debuts slated for the show.
While we've heard rumors that the Canyon would arrive in Detroit, this is our first concrete bit of evidence. As we've detailed before, we expect the Canyon to be stylistically quite different than the Colorado, though the underpinnings will be shared. The teaser image we have above is currently our only look at the new truck. We'll hopefully have more details in the next few weeks as the GMC Canyon draws closer to its official debut.
Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017
Tue, Feb 17 2015Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).
