Hello viewers, you are looking at a nice fairly stock 1987 GMC truck that i've had stored away for 12yrs. Ya,i know it sounds crazy, but this is the truth, I am actually the 3rd owner.the  I bought this from a local guy whom had purchased a new crate 355 small block, and had the original turbo 400 trans rebuilt, and got in a little over his head on putting it together. I drove by his place often back in the early 2000's,and asked him what he was going to do with it,as i had seen it dismantled for quite a while, and the body looked great,he said he was going to redo it. A couple months later,he came to me,and asked me if i wanted it,as he wanted to get all the money back for the eng/trans,and the fact that the body was nice,so i grabbed it. I put it back together driveline wise quickly, but then had our first child, and the regular cab wasn't going to fly,so it was parked, and just started, and drove around the block and such, just to keep things moving internally, which in my opinion is very important. The engine runs strong, and has excellent oil pressure, shifts well, the four wheel drive works fine, and has new lock outs on it. In the summer of 2012 I pulled it in from the storage building to the shop, sanded it down to bare metal,as they old grey paint was cracking, but the truck really didn't have much for rust,so had repainted it professionally, and had a new windshield installed, and took it to the local exhaust shop, and had new duals put on it,all the way out the back sides. It has a nice diamondplate toolbox in it. This truck is the first year of fuel inj,as i know of,and has had 2 new inj already installed,a new fuel tank, and pump. The only things that i can think of that may need addressed are- the fuel gauge isn't always accurate, the cruise control is Not hooked up,as i never got the components from him,and the tires that are on it are so/so,but already bought a nice set of 4 matching GOOD YEAR 31/10.50/15'S,  and HAVE MOUNTED THEM SINCE PHOTO. These are the factory aluminum wheels in pics, and the original spare is still under the bed . The frame was cleaned, and painted when the bed was off,and the underside of the bed was repainted also. This truck has never been jacked up,or hacked up,it is as said fairly stock,bt looks very nice, and drives well, and i encourage a viewer to look at it in person,or send someone to view. This truck is used, and 25yrs old,so i DO NOT IMPLY ANY TYPE OF WARRANTY,it is exactly what i am explaining, and if you wish for additional pics,or info, please ask. I have about $11,000 in this jewel, and know i won't get it back, but will expect to get something,or it will just go back into storage until my next midlife crisis. Now down to bidding,or offers,as said, would like you,or someone to check it out,if not keep in mind, out of all these yrs,it has been drove only to the exhaust shop, and my daughters school,so don't make an offer unless your serious. This is a NON A/C TRUCK ALSO. IF you bid,and i accept,i wish to have a $500.00 deposit through paypal, and the rest in cash,or good bank money order within 3 days, unless prior spoke of. Thank you for viewing, and please ask ?'s if needed,- and if your wondering if i take partial trades= only if it's a kool pontiac,or chevy, thanks folks

Watch GM's new pickup crash its way to five-star NHTSA ratings

Thu, 09 Jan 2014

General Motors has just scored a big win with its Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks, acing the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration New Car Assessment Program. The two full-size trucks had already netted a five-star Overall Vehicle Score in their crew-cab variants, but the new testing certifies them as five-star trucks in both regular and double-cab bodystyles, so GM's trucks offer top ratings across the board.
"Our incredibly capable trucks have been engineered to be some of the safest," Gay Kent, GM's general director of Vehicle Safety and Crashworthiness said. "We've designed the vehicle structure, strategically placed high-strength steel and developed the occupant restraint system to achieve high levels of safety performance."
The scores mark the Silverado and Sierra as the first pickups to net five-star scores since NHTSA beefed up their testing regime in 2011, a nice feather in GM's cap as it continues to slug out the pickup truck wars with crosstown rivals Ford and Ram.

Weekly Recap: Geneva's splendor reflects growing demand for ultra-luxury cars

Sat, Mar 7 2015

Geneva is one of the most glittering auto shows in the world, but the list of high-powered and bespoke luxury cars was decadent this year even by the rich standards of the Swiss exhibition. It's great for enthusiasts to revel in the flame-throwing Aston Martin Vulcan, the racing-inspired elegance of the Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 concept and the insane performance of the Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce, but there's a reason for all of this opulence: the luxury market is big business. And it's growing. IHS Automotive forecasts that so-called ultra-premium sales will nearly triple this decade from 123,000 to 353,000 units around the world. The estimate includes brands like Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari and Rolls-Royce, but doesn't count BMW, Mercedes and Audi, which offer less expensive models in addition to their high-end flagships. Though IHS includes Porsche and its relatively large volume in the study, the ultra-premium segment is still set grow at about the same rate, even without the German automaker's figures. So what is propelling all of this growth in the most expensive segment of the auto industry? Put simply, there's more rich people. IHS Automotive principal analyst Tim Urquhart pointed to economic expansion in China, market recovery in the United States and a surge in the lucrative technology sector as contributing factors. This dovetails with a research report by UK-based Oxfam, an international relief organization, which found the world's richest one-percent owned 48 percent of global wealth in 2014, and it's expected to increase to more than 50 percent by 2016. View 17 Photos Carmakers are moving quickly to capitalize with new products, expanding their portfolios with low-volume speedsters like the 800-hp V12 Vulcan at Geneva, and plans to enter new segments, like Rolls-Royce's strategy to make an SUV. "Ultra-premium carmakers are looking to explore ways of growing their product offerings, and thus their bottom lines, in this most potentially profitable of segments," Urquhart wrote in a report on the Geneva show. In a nutshell, there are more choices for people with more money. It's a good time to have expensive taste. Other News & Notes 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata production launches It won't be long now. Should heavy-duty pickup trucks have window stickers with fuel mileage estimates?

Sat, Sep 23 2017

If you were to stroll into your nearest Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan, or Ram dealership, you'd find a bunch of pickup trucks. Most of those would have proper window stickers labeled with things like base prices, options prices, location of manufacture, and, crucially, fuel economy estimates. But you'd also run across a number of heavy-duty trucks with no such fuel mileage data from the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA doesn't require automakers to publish the valuable miles-per-gallon measurement for vehicles with gross weight ratings that exceed 8,500 pounds. That makes it difficult for consumers to compare behemoths powered by turbocharged diesel engines – between one another, and between smaller, gasoline-fueled trucks. Consumer Reports doesn't think it should be this way, and it's spearheading an effort (PDF link) to get the government to require manufacturers to publish fuel economy estimates. In its own testing, CR found that heavy-duty pickups powered by Ford's Power Stroke, GM's Duramax, and FCA's Cummins diesel engines (which doesn't include the Ram's EcoDiesel) get worse fuel mileage than their lighter-duty gas-powered siblings. We're not so sure HD-truck buyers are unaware of this fact – big diesels don't really come into their own until big loads are placed in their beds or attached to their trailer hitches. Under heavy workloads, the diesel trucks will almost certainly return greater efficiency than a similar gas-powered truck. What's more, HD trucks with lumbering diesels in general make the driver feel more confident while towing due to greater torque at low engine RPM than gas trucks. They also offer greater max-weight limits. Still, we agree EPA fuel mileage estimates should be offered for heavy-duty pickups. And we think the comparisons provided by Consumer Reports might be interesting to potential buyers. Click here to see the results of CR's tests, and let us know what you think using the poll below.
