I may be able to drive the truck to most of New England to deliver! See the last paragraph for details.

Here we have a very clean 1985 GMC Sierra Classic. Its tough to decide wether its show quality or daily driver quality, but I drive it daily anyways. I get compliments every day. I simply have too many toys, and not enough garage, so something has to go because the yard is starting to get crowded. I am very sorry to see this truck go, but its either the truck or my classic trans am. I drive this about 400 miles a week, so this is a solid, dependable, turn key truck, -NOT a project truck. It passed RI inspection with no problems in September of 2013.

Exterior-

It has an all original, rust, bondo, ding, and dent free body. It was sanded down to bare metal and painted in March 2014 deep metallic cobalt blue. It comes with a 4 year paint and clear coat guarantee through the body shop. Its a 2014 Ford metallic "deep impact blue" paint code j-4. Prior to painting, the body had very minimal rust along the top of the back wheel wells, and it was completely cut out and replaced with nos gm panels. They did a fantastic job making it look like it never happened. The entire truck was stripped down to bare metal, block sanded, and re-painted. I also replaced all of the chrome, (all new parts) including the bumpers, mirrors, light bezels, fender emblems, hood ornament, wheel well trim, and the hood was replaced with a Goodmark steel cowl induction hood. Everything is NOS except the mirrors, and light bezels. The bumpers are new chrome OEM.  I have the original hood if wanted for an extra $50, it is midnight blue. The body is in really clean like new condition 9.75/10. The GMC logo on the grill is now red, I had a die-cut 6 year vinyl sticker made and inserted.  I also added a new diamond plate locking tool box, (yes it comes with the key), diamond plate bed rails, and tailgate cap for a very simple flash appeal that's not too over the top. The inside of the bed has no holes but has some scratches to the paint, as I use this truck as a daily driver. I liked the chrome headlight bezels, but didn't care for the cheap looking 85 argent grill it had before I painted it, so I had a nos 84 chrome grill installed, and custom brackets to keep the dual headlights. That's why it has a one of a kind look to the front. Factory but custom at the same time. Looks great!

Interior-

Cosmetically very clean with no rips in the seat, and only a 3 inch crack in one of the speaker vents, I put gorilla tape under it to prevent the crack from spreading last year, -so far so good, it has worked for the last year. Carpeting is original, and if you want a completely new looking interior, this would be the only thing you might replace. Its not horrible, but does show some dirt stains in the high foot traffic areas. I just replaced all 4 speakers, Pioneers in the front, and Kickers in the rear. The original AC Delco cassette deck works as well. It has the Delorean windshield antennae. The AC compressor has oil in it, but I will send the truck out with a brand new one, if I can win the auction Im bidding in at a reasonable price. The AC has no line leaks in the system, I had a dye test performed, and it was diagnosed once an oil leak was found in the compressor. Im currently bidding on a NOS Delco Harrison compressor, you will have to install it if I win it. The AC should work perfectly new if installed properly. I will revise this auction if I have won it, and I will include it with the sale of the truck.

Suspension/brakes

I had HD lift coils installed in the front for ground clearance, and replaced the back leaf springs to level it out. The truck now sits as high as a K-series with a 3 inch lift. Still handles bumpy highway on-ramps at 40mph no problem. New upper and lower control arms and ball joints within the last year. Truck stops very well! Truck has the optional factory upgrade JB55 heavy duty braking system, with all new pads, rotors, and calipers in the front, and the back drums are good. Stops straight, front end is tight, idler arm is good, tie rods are tight, good sway bar bushings, all-in-all a very tight front end, however, the truck has a slight pull to the right, so I recommend a front end alignment. I will try to make time to get this done prior to sale, but I make no promises. I own a business and any spare time I may be lucky to get is usually spent with family. It started pulling after I had the brakes done in May. It is not dangerous, and the truck handles great, just being 100% honest. There is minimal play in the wheel, and the truck drives very well with the exception of the slight pull. You can drive it onehanded comfortably with no problem, -I do most of the time.

Drivetrain-

305 ci HO engine with mild cam, and very recent Edlebrock 650 performer carb. Engine starts and runs like new, cold, hot, doesn't matter, it just sounds great. No knocks, ticks, etc. It does smoke for 2 seconds if it sat for less than half an hour and Im guessing its dripping down once the pressure drops. I do add 2/3rds of a quart to every 3000mi oil change to keep it perfectly level. It has been like this for a year now, and it hasn't gotten any worse. The transmission shifts very smoothly. No bucking or hesitation. It is a 700r4 automatic with overdrive, cruises nicely at 70 mph. Besides the minor oil burning, you wont find anything to complain about.

Frame and undercarriage-

Just your typical surface rust here and there, but not everywhere. No rot at all. All solid steel. Just took a ballpeen hammer and double checked it today, very meaty frame and under carriage.

Tires-

33.5 x 12.5 x 16 BF Goodrich All Terrains, more than 3/4 tread life on all 4. American Racing chrome rims.

Accessories and options-

new steel cowl induction hood, roof visor, new diamond plate toolbox, bedrail, and tailgate caps. Recently wired for bumper towing with a flat plug. I tow a 12 foot aluminum john boat to bass fishing tournaments on the weekends. Power windows- (passenger side is slow but works) driver side is like new, power door locks work, but driver side needs lock actuator. I just manually lock it because its right there, never fixed it because passenger side works, and that's good enough for me. This truck has the optional factory upgraded JB55 heavy duty breaking system, rear sliding window, and Delorean windshield antennae.

Mileage-

The auction has included a free vehicle history report. You can view it at the top left of the auction, click on it then click on -view entire history report. This is exactly what happened. The owner of this truck in 2008 obtained a title with the actual mileage of 83,607. He Is a long time professional colleague of my Aunt, my Aunt purchased this truck for my cousin as a birthday gift in July of 2012. When my Aunt filled out the title application, she wrote on the form 93k miles, but when she received the title in the mail, it said 193k miles. The clerk showed her the application and said that there was no error made, but when my aunt looked, the application had a blue ink mark in front of the black 93xxx miles, and the person that processed the title assumed it was a 1. They refused to correct the title. There is no way my aunts coworker put 110k miles on the truck in 46 months. He only drove it on the weekends. So the truck has on it now about 106k miles, but on title, it will show 206k.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS-

2018 GMC Sierra Denali can help you tow without breaking a sweat

Wed, Jun 6 2018

Towing a trailer once meant that only those who possessed certain knowledge would be able to go fishing, tow a race car or pull a camper safely. For me, it took four long years of practice working a job behind the wheel of a jacked-up Ford F-250, hauling tons upon tons of mowing equipment for my local parks department, to become proficient. Just how far things have come since then became evident after a recent trip to Utah with GMC, in which we used the half-ton Sierra Denali to tow a set of Polaris side-by-sides through the state. Modern safety technology and a suite of electronic aids make towing simple enough that anyone with a driver's license and something to haul can do it. This revelation came behind the leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel of GMC's outgoing 2018 Sierra Denali. Sitting in the plush, heated and cooled captain's chair, I could barely feel the 6,000 pounds I was towing behind me. Even GMC's smallest full-size truck engine, a 5.3-liter V8 generating 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, felt like overkill for what used to amount to a heavy load. With Utah's pristine landscape, the plush confines of the cabin and the uneventful nature of modern towing, mile after mile just streamed by at highway speeds without incident (or excitement). When we finally reached our destination a few hours later, one of GMC's representatives who had chosen to sit in the rear of the cab asked me what I thought about the drive. I pondered for a few minutes and answered with this: "Modern pickup trucks have removed nearly every skill-based variable once associated with towing. I could drive this truck and trailer confidently with just one finger." Consider the near overabundance of towing-assistance systems in the GMC Sierra Denali that I piloted through Utah. Let's start with the most basic of towing skills — something that's now been relegated to the annals of history: reversing a pickup to meet the trailer's hitch. Once upon a time, this required knowing a truck's dimensions and understanding proximity, as well as having a keen eye, a steady foot for both the gas and the brake and the patience to get it right. Now, though, pickups such as the Sierra Denali offer customers a trailer reverse camera system that helps the driver align truck to hitch with pinpoint accuracy.

MotorWeek looks back at 1995 Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon

Sat, Jun 20 2015

MotorWeek's Retro Review series gives us a nostalgic look back at some of the best sports cars and luxury sedans available in the 1980s and '90s. For its latest clip, the show shifts gears to remember the 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. Similar to the success of crossovers today, SUVs were tallying big sales and making big money for automakers in the mid-'90s. The Tahoe and Yukon filled slots in the market as steps down from the larger Suburban. These twins weren't wanting for space, though, with plenty of room to haul around a family. MotorWeek came away generally impressed too, and called the models some "of the better riding sport utilities we've ever experienced." This review comes with some jazzy, electric guitar licks to enjoy in the background.
