     This is a very late built Truck that I bought brand new in 8/29/08. It's primary use has been a life of leisure of trips to the big city as I have 2 other trucks to use on the farm. Since the first oil change, she has always had Mobil 1 oil, But then again that is what I put in all my vehicles. At 42,000 mi, put in left front wheel barring, at 46,000 mi new Goodyear Tires and at that time I put a leveling kit to raise the front 1 inch (just made it look better) at 52,000 mi new rear brakes, the front ones were good.

     The bottom line is, I could go on and on about how this truck was babied and how much I have always loved her and it would be all true, But if you are reading this, you are looking for a well cared for GMC that has never been abused, beat on, and has had the best of maintenance, this should be one for your consideration. I know of nothing this truck needs and would not be afraid to drive it anywhere.I will have a fresh change of Mobil 1 and a full tank of fuel.

     O.K., So why am I selling? This was my 50th birthday present to myself. So for my 55th birthday I plan on fullfilling a 35 year old dream. I have had many Vettes but not the one I have always wanted. The Holly Grail of Vettes the "63 Split Window".... So I can drive my best farm truck everyday, sell my "good truck" and my 2002 Z06 (soon to be on eBay) and buy the car that has always eluted me. And yes, My Wife said to "go for it". after all, She is the brains of this outfit, who am I to argue.

options include but not limited to;

Tire pressure monitor system, Front tow hooks, Cargo box illumination, Fog lamps, Dual zone air conditioning, Rear defogger, AM/FM 6 disk CD with XM radio, 10 way power heated leather buckets seats with driver memory, Steering wheel controls, Power locks and windows, Remote keyless entry, Mirror compass with temperature, Bose premium speakers, Power heated outside mirrors with turn signals, Remote vehicle start, Adjustable power pedals, All terrain package, Z/71, HD trailering package, Stabiltrak, Head curtain side impact air bags, Integrated trailer brake, EZ lift locking tailgate and many more.

I have added Chrome door handles, Chrome mirror caps, Chrome fuel door, Chrome tailgate handle, Chrome fender moldings, Dee Zee black running boards.

The starting price is the reserve.

Thanx for looking.

GM thinks Colorado and Canyon midsize trucks will lure crossover buyers

Tue, 29 Jul 2014

The invitation to come out and sample product at the General Motors Proving Grounds in Milford, MI is rarely dull, and after spending this morning driving preproduction versions of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon all we can say is... under strict embargo. Sorry, America, we were as excited as many of you are to learn more about GM's new midsize truck range and take note of how they go down the road, but it's going to be September before we're allowed to share that with all of you. Here's to sweet suspense.
While we might not be able to talk about refinement or handling yet, we did find some of the product positioning and marketing statements from GMC and Chevy officials on hand at the program to be pretty interesting.
Of course, we all know that the literal competitive set for Canyon and Colorado is comprised of two comparatively ancient Japanese midsize trucks: the Toyota Tacoma (which currently owns this segment) and the Nissan Frontier. The Frontier's bones are as old as the 2005 model year, with 2009 marking the last time the truck was updated. The Taco was also launched in 2005, though it did see a freshening for 2012. The point remains that, in every facet from powertrain to dash plastics, the GM midsize truck twins are going to look positively space age by comparison when they hit the market for MY 2015.

GM cutting back on powertrain warranty citing lack of interest

Thu, Mar 12 2015

Generally, when a manufacturer offers a long, high-mileage warranty, it's a sign that it stands behind its products. On top of that, it's generally a selling point for consumers, who can rest easy knowing that any catastrophic failures will be picked up by the manufacturer. Considering those facts, it does seem rather strange that General Motors is slashing the mileage warranty on model year 2016 vehicles from Chevrolet and GMC. Instead of offering consumers a 100,000-mile warranty, GM will now only offer a powertrain warranty up to 60,000 miles. The five-year warranty period, though, remains unchanged. GM will also cut the number of free services being offered to Chevy and GMC owners, as well as Buick drivers, from four to two. "Through research, we have determined that when purchasing a new vehicle, included maintenance and warranty rank low on the list of reasons why consumers consider a particular brand over another," explained a memo sent to dealers by Chevrolet VP Brian Sweeney and his GMC counterpart, Duncan Aldred, and obtained by Automotive News. "As a result, we have benchmarked our competitors, reviewed our current offerings and have concluded the following modifications to align closely with our customers' needs and expectations." While the move might seem odd, Sweeney and Aldred are right – according to Automotive News, Ford, Honda and Toyota each offer a five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty. As for what the money saved by trimming the powertrain warranty will go towards, a GM spokesperson simply told AN that the company will "reinvest the savings we will realize into other retail programs," some of which have been requested by consumers. What are your thoughts? Would a 40,000-mile reduction in a new vehicle's powertrain really turn you off from buying one? Even if it matched its competitors? Is GM better off spending its money elsewhere? Have your say in Comments. GM recalling Silverado and Sierra HD diesel pickups over fuel gauge follies

Fri, 03 Jan 2014

General Motors is recalling 9,733 of its heavy-duty twins over concerns with their 6.6-liter diesel engines and dual fuel tanks. The recall covers some Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD pickups from model years 2012 and 2013, although the exact dates that the recalled trucks were built isn't specified. There's also no mention of how many models come from Chevrolet and how many are from GMC.
The problem rests with the transfer pump responsible for moving fuel from the rear tank to the front tank - it could fail, resulting in an inaccurate fuel gauge. It hardly requires explaining, but a faulty fuel gauge could leave drivers in a situation where they run out of diesel.
GM will begin notifying customers of affected vehicles, who will be asked to report to their dealers for a free replacement transfer pump.
