1994 Gmc Awd Safari Xt "cambridge Custom" Base Ext Passenger Van 3 Door 4.3l on 2040-cars
Lake Zurich, Illinois, United States
This is an extremely well
kept older van. The interior is very nice with lots of LED lighting and switch controls along with a Sansui TV that works too.. The van drives PERFECT and STARTS EVERY TIME. This is a 1994 BUT LOOKS LIKE A 2004 WITH THE SHAPE ITS IN! Not perfect but above average in everyway. Some of the things that
were done on the van are: tune-up (plug/wires,gas filter, air
filter,PVC,cap & rotor,oil/filter), front hubs, muffler, catalytic
converter, fuel pump, all shocks, front brakes, starter. The front was
changed to resemble a Cadillac Escalade and looks very cool. All doors open as they should.
A/C, heater, rear defroster, wiper blades, radio/CD, seat belts function
as they should. No roof leaks. Entire electronic dashboard gauge cluster works as it should. The outside part of the gas cap door latch is broken and can be replaced for 12 bucks.
THE ALL WHEEL DRIVES IS FANTASTIC IN THE SNOW AND YOU WILL NEVER GET STUCK! The
drivers seat has a little wear (see picture). There are a few minor dings and
scratches on the exterior but the paint is nice and glossy and looks great. The blower
motor switch has four setting but only work on two higher settings. The
diver side electric mirror works when it wants too. The passenger side
electric window does not work even after a new motor was installed. Please address all question prior to bidding. Smoke-free vehicle. Vehicle must be picked up by winner because I will not ship. Sold as is, all sales final with no returns and no refunds...although I doubt you will want one when you see and drive it for yourself. Thanks and good luck! |

GM recall woes continue with 662,000 pickups trucks and Cruze sedans
Sat, 29 Mar 2014General Motors can't seem to get its name out of the "bad news" column. Two more recalls were announced late Friday evening that will see The General calling in 490,200 fullsize pickup trucks and SUVs, along with 172,000 Chevrolet Cruze models.
For those keeping track, General Motors has issued recalls for an alarming 4.8 million vehicles so far since last month.
The Chevy Silverado 1500, Tahoe and Suburban, GMC Sierra 1500 and Yukon models from the 2014 and 2015 model years are being recalled for a flaw in their transmissions wherein loose oil cooler lines may cause a fire. The automaker said in a statement (see below) that it knows of three incidents of loose transmission lines causing problems, but no injuries. We can't confirm whether it was this transmission issue that caused the widely publicized blaze that consumed a 2015 GMC Yukon that was being test driven in California.
Surprise! GM putting aluminum in next-gen pickups
Wed, Aug 5 2015Last month, General Motors launched a series of ads touting the benefits of steel over aluminum – specifically, with regard to the Chevy Silverado versus the Ford F-150. (Kind of. We're not sure what a grizzly bear has to do with anything.) We took issue with the ads, with editor in chief Mike Austin saying they "reek of insecurity, and distract from the Silverado's strengths that could be used for positive advertising." But what bothers us more, is that yet another report surfaced claiming anti-aluminum GM will indeed use the weight-saving material in its next-generation fullsize trucks. On Tuesday, GM announced a $877-million investment for its truck plant in Flint, MI. But Reuters says that huge overhaul is because the trucks will use "substantially different equipment than the tools GM uses today." The report specifically states, "People familiar with the company's plans say GM's next-generation pickups and SUVs will make use of various materials, including aluminum and lightweight steel, to shed weight and gain fuel efficiency to meet tougher federal standards." The Silverado already uses a few aluminum components in the engine and hood, and if more widespread use will help GM build its best fullsize trucks ever, then that's great. Honestly, we have no reason to doubt that aluminum will be used in the next Silverado and GMC Sierra. We just hope GM remembers that nothing is ever truly deleted from the bowels of the Internet when it launches the subsequent "look how great aluminum is!" campaign. GM planning to put its fullsize pickups on a big diet, too
Fri, 19 Jul 2013General Motors is just coming off a complete redesign of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra for 2014, but in the US fullsize truck market, there is no rest for the weary. According to Reuters, plans are already unfurling for both trucks to drop pounds from their curb weight over the next few years, but this will unlikely be able to keep pace with the 700-pound diet targeted for the next-generation Ford F-150, a truck expected to debut late next year.
The biggest weight reduction for these trucks might not be available until the next full redesign, which will likely happen around 2019, but the article says that smaller updates could shave pounds in the meantime. Two examples given include an "aluminum-intensive" version of the Silverado that could shed 250 pounds and debut around the same time as the lighter-weight, aluminum-bodied 2015 Ford, and there is also talk of reducing weight for driveline components such as axles and driveshafts. These changes are all part of an attempt to meet strict new fuel economy standards coming in 2017, targets which will get even tougher in 2025.
