Up for grabs is my 1998 GMC Jimmy SLE 4 x 4, 124,849 miles, 4.3 V6 engine, Automatic, PL, PW, Power drivers seat, Factory Keyless Entry, Factory CD Player, Factory Automatic headlights, daytime running lamps, dual air bags, etc.. All the new stuff has been all PREVENTATIVE maintenance only as I believe in keeping a vehicle running right before anything happens! This truck also has its owners manual! All the lights work, glass is good, A/C blows ICE COLD, Heat blows RED HOT, 4 x 4 works flawlessly. The mirrors are heated, custom 2 tone white/black, and I have installed LED arrows in the glass. The truck also has the European tail light conversion (4 bulbs instead of US spec 3 bulbs).

This truck has had a TON of love from me, and i hate to see her go but its time to move on.  This truck has been EXTREMELY reliable to me and has never left me on the side of the road walking!  I must also say that there has been NO pets and NO smoking in this vehicle since I have owned it.  The interior is fresh smelling and inviting!

NEW in the last 8 months
  • Tires
  • Fuel Pump & Fliter
  • Plugs, Wires, Cap, Rotor (ALL AC DELCO BRAND)
  • Brake Pads on all 4 corners (Again, ALL AC DELCO)
  • Serpentine Belt & Tensioner
  • Beefier shocks in the front and rear (rear has coil overs. I added anticipating possibly pulling a boat one day, never happened)
  • NEW from Prior owners - 4 x 4 transfer case and axles

CONS (expected as this truck is 15 years old and less than average miles)
  • The motor has a tick in it. I have owned the Jimmy since 119,8xx miles when I bought it last April out of Colorado. Since then, I have driven the truck many many times to Rapid City (65 miles + one way), Mt. Rushmore (120 miles one way), Gillette (90+ miles one way), Lead/Deadwood, and all over the Black Hills. I believe the tick is a plugged lifter. This isn't serious at all as I have put a year and 5,000 miles on the truck with the noise.
  • The passenger rear window motor needs replacing
  • Needs a tire for the spare

Terms:  A NON-Refundable deposit of $500 is due within 24 hours of the auction close.  The remainder will be due within 7 days.  If you fly in to drive the truck home, you can pay me cash at that time.  If you choose to use Uship or another type of shipper, payment will need to be fully made before I release the title and keys to the shipper.  This can be done via a Postal Money Order (Postal is the only type I accept, you can get them in increments on $1,000 via the USPS), or you can get a cashiers check to send to me.

GM CEO to meet with U.S. lawmakers over job cuts

Fri, Nov 30 2018

WASHINGTON — General Motors Co Chief Executive Mary Barra plans to visit Capitol Hill next week to discuss the company's plans to halt production at five plants in North America next year and cut up to 15,000 jobs, two congressional aides said on Friday. GM has come under harsh criticism from lawmakers from both major political parties, and from President Donald Trump, since Monday when it announced the biggest restructuring for the U.S. No. 1 carmaker since its bankruptcy a decade ago. Barra is expected to meet with lawmakers from Michigan and Ohio, where GM plans to shutter three plants, as well as senior leaders in Congress. GM did not immediately comment. Barra has been calling lawmakers this week to explain the decision to end production. Trump has threatened to revoke subsidies for GM. The Detroit automaker plans to halt production next year at three assembly plants: the Lordstown small-car factory near Youngstown, Ohio; the Detroit-Hamtramck complex in Detroit; and the Oshawa, Ontario, assembly complex near Toronto. It will also stop building several models now assembled at those plants, including the Chevrolet Cruze, the Chevrolet Volt hybrid, the Cadillac CT6 and the Buick LaCrosse. Additionally, GM plans to shutter the Warren transmission plant outside Detroit and a plant that makes electric motors and drivetrains outside Baltimore, Maryland. The Cruze compact car will be discontinued in the U.S. market in 2019, although GM may continue building it in Mexico for other markets, Barra said. Reporting by David Shepardson. Related Video:

These are the cars with the best and worst depreciation after 5 years

Thu, Nov 19 2020

The average new vehicle sold in America loses nearly half of its initial value after five years of ownership. No surprise there; we all expect that shiny new car to start depreciating as soon as we drive it off the lot. But some vehicles lose value a lot faster than others. According to data provided by iSeeCars.com, trucks and truck-based sport utility vehicles generally hold their value better than other vehicle types, with the Jeep Wrangler — in both four-door Unlimited and standard two-door styles — and Toyota Tacoma sitting at the head of the pack. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited's average five-year depreciation of 30.9% equals a loss in value of $12,168. That makes Jeep's four-door off-roader the best overall pick for buyers looking to minimize depreciation. The Toyota Tacoma's 32.4% loss in initial value means it loses just $10,496. The smaller dollar amount — the least amount of money lost after five years — indicates that Tacoma buyers pay less than Wrangler Unlimited buyers, on average, when they initially buy the vehicle. The standard two-door Jeep Wrangler is third on the list, depreciating 32.8% after five years and losing $10,824. Click here for a full list of the top 10 vehicles with the least depreciation over five years. On the other side of the depreciation coin, luxury sedans tend to plummet in value at a much faster rate than other vehicle types. The BMW 7 Series leads the losers with a 72.6% drop in value after five years, which equals an alarming $73,686. BMW's slightly smaller 5 Series is next, depreciating 70.1%, or $47,038, over the same period. Number three on the biggest losers list is the Nissan Leaf, the only electric vehicle to appear in the bottom 10. The electric hatchback matches the 5 Series with a 70.1% drop in value, but since it's a much cheaper vehicle, that percentage equals a much smaller $23,470 loss. GM pickup truck plant in Flint to add 1,000 assembly workers

Tue, Feb 5 2019

FLINT, Mich. — General Motors said Tuesday it will add 1,000 workers to build new heavy-duty pickup trucks at its plant in Flint, Michigan, and will give priority to GM workers who were laid off elsewhere. The announcement comes the day after GM said it was starting to hand pink slips to about 4,000 salaried workers in the latest round of a restructuring announced in late November that will ultimately shrink its white-collar workforce in North America by 15 percent out of 54,000. GM has come under fire from U.S. President Donald Trump and Midwestern lawmakers for its plans to stop production at five North American factories and cut up to 15,000 jobs in all. The automaker has said it is trying to find new jobs for 1,500 U.S. hourly workers at the affected plants. Flint's truck plant could be a haven for many of these employees. Sales of heavy-duty pickups in the United States have grown to more than 600,000 vehicles a year, up more than 20 percent since 2013, according to industry data. Prices for luxury models can easily top $70,000. GM on Tuesday will celebrate the launch of a new generation of heavy-duty GMC and Chevrolet pickups at the assembly plant in Flint, Michigan, that is now building all such trucks for the company. Elsewhere in the company on Monday, two people briefed on the cuts in the white-collar salaried workforce said GM is cutting hundreds of jobs at its information technology centers in Texas, Georgia, Arizona and Michigan and more than 1,000 jobs at its Warren, Michigan Tech Center. GM is filing new required mass layoff notices with state agencies and disclosed the cuts to lawmakers. The largest U.S. automaker announced in November it would cut a total of about 15,000 jobs and end production at five North American plants. The cuts include eliminating about 8,000 salaried workers, or about 15 percent. GM cut about 1,500 contract workers in December and said 2,300 salaried workers accepted buyouts, officials said. "These actions are necessary to secure the future of the company, including preserving thousands of jobs in the U.S. and globally. We are taking action now while the overall economy and job market are strong, increasing the ability of impacted employees to continue to advance in their careers, should they choose to do so," GM spokesman Pat Morrissey said, adding the bulk of the cuts should be completed in the next two weeks. Morrissey said GM would provide salaried workers with severance packages and job placement services.
