1974 Gmc Jimmy/blazer 4x4 Chevrolet 1973 1975 Full Convertible on 2040-cars
Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States
Hello everyone you are looking at a very hard to find original truck, this truck has been well kept and has original paperwork along with maintenance records. The history of this truck goes as follows. The original owner was a Sammy Gholson who lived in Tucumcari New Mexico. He mainly used the truck for recreational purposes, the truck had a tow bar in front when I purchased it .he would haul the truck up to the mountains for hunting. The truck has the oldschool paper records that were kept in a small plastic slot the most milage recorded on those is 9,000. The truck also has an old Goodwrench dealer sticker on the inside of windshield when I purchased the truck it had 43,000 original miles on it, the service sticker was due at 44,000. Some of the original paper work includes a registration from 1977, Fuel economy booklet ,owners manual ,service parts identification sticker, and a installation manual for the Edelbrock intake that was added in the 80s. This truck was originally a 2 barrel carb setup which was upgraded with a quadjet. Sticker on the radiator support calls for a 2 barrel carb. if you look closely at the engine compartment you will see the fire wall still has its original factory chalk marks. So with all that said Don't miss out on the chance of owning a good restoreable original convertible classic.
Engine This engine has the matching serial number to vin has all original parts except for the intake, and carb. I have used the truck regularly and have maintained the oil and installed new intake gaskets, valve cover gaskets, and thermostat. Transmission Serial numbers also match the vin automatic transmission turbo 350 full time four wheel drive.Transmission shifts smooth Electrical Components All Lighting is fully functional brakes, turn signals running lights high/low beams and cluster lighting. radio not working I've never really bothered with it. cig lighter is good. Air Conditioning fully functional, heater works. ALL gauges are also working and marking as they should. Rust/Body Yes like most all these old trucks it has rust, The rear lower corner behind wheel has rust, front passenger fender has rust, and tail gate has some rust behind the lower trim. Beyond that the floors are solid and wont be a hard restoration if thats what you plan on doing. The body of the truck is not perfect and has been painted once before and will need body work has very small dents and scratches paint is faded and peeling. As far as I can see this truck has never been in any major wreck the frame also has the matching vin number stamped on top rail on driver side engine compartment. Interior The truck has the original front seats the driver was badly worn and the passenger was also a bit worn. Rear seat was missing and I was lucky enough to find one at a local junkyard. I wrapped the seats with Mexican blankets because the vinyl would get too hot in the summer to sit on. Front seat portion of the truck has original rubber mat the rear was recently installed. Suspension/wheels The Jimmy rides on a factory setup and has not to my knowledge been altered in any way, rides and drives real smooth on the freeway. The power steering works excellent, brakes working properly. The truck sits on a set of wild country tires original 16 inch 6 lug steel wheels I also have the spare with an original tire Terms and conditions I hope that about sums it up for you folks if you have any questions feel free to e-mail me I may have missed something. I have described this vehicle to the best of my knowledge. This truck is sold on a as is basis and as a project, sale is final and no refunds will be available. If you are not serious please do not bid or waste my time. Buyer is responsible for shipping I am willing to meet locally and will assist in the loading process. Buyer must make a non refundable 800.00 us dollar deposit within 24 hours of auction end once auction ends I will provide contact info to finalize the transaction.GOOD LUCK thanks for looking. |

GM files for Z71 Trail Boss trademark
Mon, Jan 26 2015Try as they might to keep their plans a secret, automakers have their hands tipped through a variety of methods – be they through loose lips, spy shots or patent and trademark applications. That's how we know, in this instance, that General Motors is working on (or at least considering) an off-road machine wearing the name Z71 Trail Boss – the name which our compatriots at AutoGuide.com tell us that GM has registered for use on light-duty trucks. Now if that alphanumeric designator sounds familiar, it should. GM has long used it to designate the off-road packages on many of its body-on-frame trucks from Chevy and GMC. These days you can order a Z71 package on the Chevy Colorado, Silverado, Tahoe and Suburban and on the GMC Canyon, Sierra and Yukon. The package typically includes components like a beefed-up suspension bits, high-capacity air cleaner and underbody protection plates. The Trail Boss designator would seem to suggest something further reaching than a suspension package, though. Just what it would entail we don't know; minds immediately start running toward Chevy or GMC going after the Ford F-150 Raptor, but we'll likely be looking at something closer to the Trailhawk packages Jeep offers on the likes of the Renegade and Cherokee. 2020 GMC Sierra Review & Buying Guide | The same but different
Fri, Jan 10 2020For the most part, the 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 and the Chevy Silverado are very close siblings. And with the more modestly equipped Sierra SLE and SLT models, choosing between the equivalent Chevy and GMC largely comes down to styling preference and whether you got a better deal at the GMC dealer. They’re almost identical twins. Almost. Because despite the shared DNA, there are differences in terms of model choice. There's no GMC equivalent to the cheaper Custom Trail Boss, for instance, but there is the high-dollar off-road-oriented AT4 that goes beyond the Chevy LT Trail Boss with more equipment and the availability of GMC's unique MultiPro tailgate and CarbonPro carbon fiber bed. Those are also available on the GMC Sierra Denali, which further differs with an adaptive suspension not offered by Chevrolet that seriously improves the ride comfort and handling composure of GM's full-size trucks. GMC therefore makes a compelling case for itself if you're willing to spend more for your truck, but having said that, the range-topping Sierras also don't go above-and-beyond in the same ways as the ritzy Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 trim levels do to provide a proper luxury truck experience. The new Duramax diesel engine at least stands out, but otherwise the Sierra doesn't offer a lot that others can't match or better (even within the GM family). What's new for 2020? CarbonPro Editions debut for the AT4 and Denali trim levels. These include the CarbonPro composite bed and a Kicker audio system in the MultiPro tailgate. The AT4 versions also gets some unique exterior trim. Mechanically, a 10-speed automatic is now paired with the drivetrain combo of 5.3-liter V8, Dynamic Fuel Management and four-wheel drive. Aiding visibility are newly available trailer tow mirrors, a bed-view camera, and a high-def 360-degree camera system with trailering elements. What's the interior and in-car technology like? Like its Silverado sibling, the Sierra's cabin is its least compelling and competitive attribute, falling far behind the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 in terms of quality and design. The dash is drab and frankly ugly in every trim level, but the cabin is particularly damning in the Sierra Denali. Its black vinyl "stitched" onto the black dash and some token strips of wood trim slapped onto the center console and doors just aren't enough to create the sort of high-dollar ambience truck buyers can find elsewhere.
GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title
Thu, 12 Sep 2013General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.
