The 2014 GMC Acadia personifies a never say never attitude with its flexible, accommodating space and functionality. 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE spy shots show new bumpers and tailgate
Mon, Mar 12 2018When the new 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 debuted two weeks ago, GM's truck division showed off just the two top trims, SLT and Denali. While the Denali might be the flagship Sierra, it's not likely to be the volume seller (though Denali models makes up almost a third of total GMC sales). These new spy shots show off the midrange SLE trim. It takes a more conservative, toned-down appearance compared to its brash brethren. The most obvious visual changes come at the front and rear. That big grille remains, but there are just three horizontal bars rather than the busier design from the SLT or Denali. The fog lights have been removed, too, though the C-shapped LED accent in the headlights has carried over. Out back, the SLE trim makes do without the trick MultiPro tailgate (it's limited to SLT and Denali models). It also has a different bumper as the exhaust exits just behind the right wheel. Badging on the fenders indicates that the truck has the updated 5.3-liter V8, meaning it's paired with an eight-speed transmission. The 6.2-liter V8 gets the new 10-speed auto. A 3.0-liter diesel inline-six will be available sometime down the road. GMC hasn't announced pricing, fuel economy or power ratings, but expect to see something in the next few months. GM files for Z71 Trail Boss trademark
Mon, Jan 26 2015Try as they might to keep their plans a secret, automakers have their hands tipped through a variety of methods – be they through loose lips, spy shots or patent and trademark applications. That's how we know, in this instance, that General Motors is working on (or at least considering) an off-road machine wearing the name Z71 Trail Boss – the name which our compatriots at AutoGuide.com tell us that GM has registered for use on light-duty trucks. Now if that alphanumeric designator sounds familiar, it should. GM has long used it to designate the off-road packages on many of its body-on-frame trucks from Chevy and GMC. These days you can order a Z71 package on the Chevy Colorado, Silverado, Tahoe and Suburban and on the GMC Canyon, Sierra and Yukon. The package typically includes components like a beefed-up suspension bits, high-capacity air cleaner and underbody protection plates. The Trail Boss designator would seem to suggest something further reaching than a suspension package, though. Just what it would entail we don't know; minds immediately start running toward Chevy or GMC going after the Ford F-150 Raptor, but we'll likely be looking at something closer to the Trailhawk packages Jeep offers on the likes of the Renegade and Cherokee. Next GMC Sierra Denali accidentally leaked on consumer site
Fri, 03 May 2013Thanks to the quick-to-screen-shot folks at GM Authority, we now have our first look at what is likely the 2014-15 GMC Sierra Denali. GMA reports that the image you see here was temporarily posted on the GMC consumer site, though as you can see now, when you scroll over the "trucks" tab, the image has been removed.
GM Authority states that because the truck in this image wears a blacked-out lower bumper, redesigned grille insert and shiny wheels, this has got to be the upmarket Denali version of the fully redesigned 2014 model year Sierra. The Chevrolet Silverado will be getting a similar treatment, as we've seen in recent spy shots, dubbed the High Country.
Expect the Sierra Denali to ride on large, unique wheels (the one we spied earlier this year was fitted with 21-inch rollers), and feature a huge helping of luxurious interior amenities, as well as premium features like xenon headlamps. An official on-sale date for the Denali has not been released, though it's been reported that the high-grade Sierra, along with its Silverado counterpart, will arrive after the Texas State Fair this summer.
