Offering our 2000 Ford Windstar SE 7 passenger van with 3rd row seating for three. Front and middle row Captain's Chairs, dual sliding rear doors. Fold-down middle and rear seats, also removable. Cold air-hot heat. This van is just below the most expensive model for the year 2000. Very reliable, smooth ride, tracks well and no pulling to either side. We have owned for 10 years and is driven everywhere, starting without fail all these winters. Continental premium tires with lots of tread remaining and mounted on factory aluminum wheels. AM/FM CD Cassette players, power windows, power steering, tilt, steering wheel cruise control. overhead and floor consoles, front cornering lights, chrome grill, carpeted floor mats, V6 gas engine with automatic transmission, remote control-open-lock, oil and filter changed regularly. I've been told the engine light is on because of rubber grommet breakdown holding the intake manifold to the top of the engine. Has been driven a long time this way. The yellow ABS light, possible wheel sensor that when on affects the proper speedometer function. When ABS light goes off at times the speedo works properly. The red light on the right bottom of the dash I believe is showing for the interior lights which don't go on when doors are opened and need new behind the door panel switches. Driver power seat not working and driver's door needs key to open. Front, right and rear of van are decent with rust starting below and behind rear slider. Left front fender has a dent and left rear bottom door has rust out, repairable. Indiana north county emissions good until October, 2014. Title shows on back 'warning-odometer discrepancy.' Was there when purchased in 2003. Any and all recall work performed at local Ford dealer. Was in a rear end tapper that was repaired at a Ford body shop and a side repair at rocker level by the same shop. Showing 88,196 miles, but due to Ford computer 'FLASH' that event took 55,000 miles off of the odometer, so actual mileage is 143,196...will be higher as I drive locally. Numerous trips to Chicago airports with our children and grand children and also South Bend and many Indianapolis trips.Never a problem. Has been a trusty hauler for many years. Purchased a new car...wife sells sell. Needs some care but low cost transportation.

Which is more fuel efficient, driving with a pickup's tailgate up or down?
Tue, 26 Aug 2014
Thanks to the smoke wand in the wind tunnel, you can actually see the difference in our video.
Should you drive with your pickup truck's tailgate up or down? It's an age-old controversy that's divided drivers for decades. Traditionalists will swear you should leave the tailgate down. Makes sense, right? It would seem to let the air flow more cleanly over the body and through the bed. But there's also a school of thought that argues trucks are designed to look and operate in a specific manner, and modern design techniques can help channel the airflow properly. So don't mess with all of that: Leave the tailgate up.
Ford pulling out of V8 Supercars after 2015
Tue, Dec 2 2014Australian racing fans are staring down the end of an era as news breaks that Ford will no longer participate in the V8 Supercars series. Although the official announcement has yet to be made, the decision – as reported widely in the automotive press Down Under and in global motorsport publications – indicates that the Blue Oval automaker has already confirmed its intentions to its shareholders early on Monday to shut down its factory effort in the popular tin-top series at the end of next season. The move will mark the end of an era for what has become the International V8 Supercars Championship. Alongside GM's Holden division, Ford was one of only two manufacturers competing in the series from its inception in the late 1990s through last year when a change in regulations opened the door for entries from Nissan, Volvo and Mercedes. Further rule changes are expected to attract even more manufacturers to the series, with Lexus said to be first among them. Over the past eighteen seasons, the V8 Supercars Championship has been won in a Holden Commodore fourteen times, leaving Ford to win the title only four times with successive versions of the Falcon. Eleven of the cars on the grid this season were Commodores, compared to only seven Ford Falcons between two teams that will need to switch to another manufacturer for the season after next – although some could opt to stick with their Fords for one more season, even without factory support, until the open 2016 regulations take effect. The decision follows Ford's announcement last year that it will cease manufacturing in Australia by 2016, ending a 90-year presence Down Under that stretches back to 1925. Blue Oval models like the Falcon, previously unique to the Aussie market, are being replaced by imported models like the Mondeo and Mustang.
Best 3rd row SUVs of 2022
Wed, Oct 19 2022If you plan on using a vehicle's third row a lot, let us at least make the suggestion that a minivan would be a smarter bet than anything you're going to see on this list of best three-row SUVs. Their third rows are bigger, more comfortable and easier to get to. The kids will definitely be happier. Here are our two top choices. OK, now that that's out of the way, we totally get why minivans are totally depressing and that if the kids want to be happier, they can buy their own darn vehicle. You're buying, you're driving, you're being seen in it and you'd rather have a three-row SUV. Fair enough. Luckily, there are more choices than ever and they're really good. The best do a particularly good job of being family friendly without looking like a drab transportation appliance, although really, you can't go wrong with any of the mainstream three-row SUVs. Now, some of the luxury choices are a bit suspect, including those that are otherwise very appealing but have cramped third-row seats (the Genesis GV80 comes to mind). We're focusing on three-row SUVs here, so having a usable third row is a must.  In this list, we have broken things down into four sub-categories: Best Three-Row Crossover |  Best Full-size Three-Row SUV Best Luxury Three-Row SUV |  Best Flagship Luxury Three-Row SUV Note that we define crossovers as SUVs since most buyers use the terms interchangeably, but acknowledge that "crossover" is literally a vehicle with a car-like unibody structure as opposed to the truck-like, body-on-frame construction that traditionally has defined "SUV." In other words, we consider all crossovers SUVs, but not all SUVs are crossovers (specifically those in the full-size segment and some in the flagship luxury segment). Best Three-Row Crossover SUVs of 2024 2024 Honda Pilot Why it stands out: Exceptional storage and cargo space; unique second-row functionality; refined ride; versatile and capable TrailSport; advanced AWDCould be better: Subpar acceleration with lackadaisical transmission and engine response; so-so driver assistance tech Read our full 2024 Honda Pilot Review The Honda Pilot was completely redesigned for 2023. It maintains its predecessor's family friendly packaging and overall focus, but it has injected a welcome sense of style (especially in the TrailSport pictured above) that makes it stand out much better from the big crossover crowd.
