Go back to 1969 and you will find the only year till this year, that THE KING ever drove a blue oval beauty. He did however tear up the racing world in a beautiful PETTY BLUE TORINO COBRA. As the year wore on and the coming of the Daytona's and the super birds, Ford sought to capitalize on the King's season before he jumped ship. They reached out to a select number of southern dealers for a promotion to sell petty blue cobras. The cars were all 351 engines with the exception of I believe 3. The 3 were special promo cars and were all big block 428 cars. These were given away as sweepstakes cars. This car is one of the all original 428 cars and has a just shy of 100k original miles on it. The car is a survivor and hasn't been restored or messed with. The pics you will see are the actual car and have NOT been photo enhanced. The bottom of the car is perfect and better than most one year old cars. the interior, with exception of a good cleaning is perfect. The car runs and drives superb with no flaws and tons of power. The engine purrs and holds nothing back. The car is a factory ordered bench seat c-6 automatic car with the beast, the 428 cj motor backing it up. I hate to sell this car but I have opened a new shop and need to thin out our inventory. I have talked on 2 occasions to a retired NASCAR driver that I have promised not to mention by name that has tried to buy this car twice and I told him I wanted to run on ebay before I actually considered his offer. It is for sale locally and available for viewing and driving before auction ends. I will be glad to make it available to any inspector or you personally for inspection. The car has its flaws in the paint and one surface rust spot under hood but again, I think I would hurt the value of the car by doing anything to it as it is in great shape and runs like a dream. This car is a show stopper anytime I take it out. Marti report shows this as a Promo car and after talking at great length to one of the biggest Ford store owners in the area, he verified all the information I have given you. I have also talked at great lengths with the Petty Foundation and other members of the southeastern Nascar promotions dept, who all verify the Ford Promotions that released these cars to the public. The color code on the door plaque is blank as it should be with any custom or promo cars from Ford of that era. Car is titled and is in locked down dry storage with our other 50 cars. This is truly a one of a kind piece of Ford and Petty history for that collector that wants to have something nobody else has. I have spent a year searching everywhere on the net and only found records of one more of these cars. So bid often and ask any questions you want. The number to our shop is 706-778-3235 or feel free to use the ebay ask question button.  First pic is that of Petty's car and the rest are of the car your bidding on. I have already turned down two of the high end auction companies that wanted to pick the car up and I don't need any help selling it. No scammers because Ive seen it all before. I build and restore cars for a living and did corp contract law for 15 years, so if you think you can scam me, think again. NO JOY RIDERS ECT,

Ford hiring 2,200 salaried US workers this year

Fri, 11 Jan 2013

With its influx of popular new products made in the US, Ford Motor Company has announced that it intends to hire 2,200 new salaried workers domestically this year. This is the biggest increase of salaried workers for Ford in the last 10 years, and it is all a part of Ford's contract commitment to the United Auto Workers union to bring 12,000 new jobs to the US by 2015.
There were no specifics as to where in the US these job openings will be, but Ford did reiterate that it will be spending $773 million on equipment upgrades and capacity expansion at six plants located in southeast Michigan; as a whole, Ford is investing a total of $6.2 billion to its US assembly plants over the next couple years. According to recently appointed president of the Americas Joe Hinrichs, the new jobs will be focused on areas such as engineering, manufacturing and computer software. Ford will post its job openings online at careers.ford.com, and it will also use social media sites like Facebook and Twitter to recruit new workers, including military veterans.

Amelia Island 2013: 50 years of the Ferrari-slaying Ford GT40

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

Originally developed with the sole purpose of being a Ferrari rival to compete at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Ford GT40 became a prominent racing machine in the 1960s in both Europe and the US. Not wanting to leave such an important car out of the fun, the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance also took time out from its other celebrations to recognize the 50-year anniversary of the GT40.
Over its short lifespan, the GT40 was offered in a handful of configurations, but the classic short-tailed (Mk I and Mk II) bodystyles were well represented... especially in Gulf livery. James Glickenhaus (of Ferrari P4/5 fame) had his bright yellow Mk IV in the field, and there were several others in this bodystyle, including one that has seen plenty of time on the track judging by its chipped-up nose.
As a fitting statement for the car's lengthy racing history, GT40 Chassis Number 1075 won this year's Concours de Sport award. This car took home the checkered flag at Le Mans in 1968 and 1969, and racked up a total of six wins in just 11 races.

2016 Ford Explorer configurator reveals $30,700* base price, Platinum starts at $52,600*

Wed, Nov 26 2014

The a la carte menu for the 2016 Ford Explorer is ready for your... umm... exploring. The first page of the refreshed model's configurator reveals the lineup, including the new Platinum trim, and price increases for three of the carryover models. The base Explorer doesn't change by one red cent: it can still be had for $30,700. The XLT needs $33,400 (a $400 price bump), the Limited goes for $41,300 (a not insignificant $2,900 price increase), and the Sport requires $43,300 (a $200 increase). That new Platinum model goes where no Explorer MSRP has gone before, beginning at $52,600 (*all prices are subject to an $895 destination charge). However, since Ford has put almost everything in it, you can't jack the price up too much further unless you lose your mind in the accessories catalog. You can quickly head that way lower down the order, though. The Limited's price jump appears to be due to the voice-activated navigation system, which comes standard; it was formerly part of a $2,600 option package. The Limited goes up by just $995 when specced with the new 2.3-liter EcoBoost, which raises the power over the 2.0-liter EcoBoost it replaces to 270 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, but doesn't incur any fuel economy penalty. All-wheel drive tacks on another $2,000, safety features like active park assist and lane departure warning come as part of $3,000 Equipment Group A, and you'll still have another three pages of options to get through. On the other hand, if you just want to get your family bundle into an Explorer without spending a bundle, the base model doesn't offer any packages and only has one option over $200. Let the research begin.
