Up for auction is a 1971 Ford Torino 500 model, uniquely equipped.  Its powered by an M code 351 4 barrel Cleveland engine backed by its original C6 transmission.  The 9" rear end houses its original 3.00 geared traction lock differential.  The engine runs strong and the trans shifts like it should.  It has a nice cam in it but could use a stall converter. REAL NICE full length dual exhaust with Flowmaster 44's.  Looking at the Marti report, it shows the car was not dealer ordered for stock but specifically with these options by a customer.  Along with the drivetrain, it was equipped with power steering, power disc brakes, air conditioning, tinted glass, visibility group (under hood, trunk, glove box and map lamps), sport mirrors, styled steel wheels and the in dash tachometer.  The interior is on good shape but could use a dash pad or a dash cap.  door panels, upholstery, headliner all in nice shape.  This is a very solid car as it spent most of its life North Carolina.  All lamps work, turn signals, brakelights, headlights, horn, wipers, windshield washer, heater fan, dash lights, tachometer, door locks, parking brake. Brake pads are at about 50% and rotors are in good shape.  Car starts right and and runs/drives/stops good.  No smoke, knocks or ticks. The car is not a rust bucket, it has nice floors, doors, cowl and trunk.  The front shock towers have NOT been torched for greasing the upper control arms.

New window crank knobs and door lock knobs, dome lamp lens, Duralast Gold battery, reproduction battery cables, battery hold down and bolts, remanufactured correct carburetor, wiper refills in original frames, pre-bent fuel line from fuel pump to carburetor, Monroe front shocks, Cooper Cobra tires.  New intake manifold gaskets.  I do have the original shoulder belts and they go with the car along with the air conditioning cpompressor.  The compressor is not frozen so it should be good.  I have receipts and paperwork going back to the mid 60's and covering 4 different owners.  The vehicle also retains its original owners manual, operators manual, warranty card, starting instructions sleeve and warrranty facts guide.  It has all 5 of the styled steel wheels.  I have two correct non-GT center caps for the wheels also.

This is a one time listing only, it will NOT be relisted.  The ONLY reason its listed is I have found a convertible I want.  The reserve is what I have, total, into this car which is VERY reasonable. Clean Michigan title in my name.

Any questions, just ask.

I will work with your shipper of choice.  The vehicle can stay here for a maximum of 2 weeks but it will be parked outside of the garage.

$500 deposit due within 24 hours thru paypal.  Final payment due within 48 hours of auctions end.  Aki questions first, bid second.  Don't bid if you can't buy it.  You win the auction, you bought it.   Vehicle is sold as is, where it is.

Ford readying dozen+ Mustang models for SEMA

Wed, 22 Oct 2014

Ford is unsurprisingly bringing a herd of its new 2015 Mustang models to next month's SEMA show in Las Vegas. Over a dozen of them are arriving from top aftermarket outfits like Galpin Auto Sports, Steeda, Roush and others. The Blue Oval isn't just shining a spotlight on the V8 model, though. The new EcoBoost 2.3-liter version with 310 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque is also getting its time in the sun.
Among the shined-up ponies will be a showcar helping Galpin celebrate the Mustang's golden anniversary, with the car is covered in the precious metal. The black paint over the body has gold flecks in it, and the wheels, side sills, brake calipers and badges all match, as well. However, it takes more than something shiny to truly impress at SEMA, and Galpin's Mustang also packs a Whipple supercharger for the 5.0-liter V8, boosting the bottom line to 725 horsepower. Take that, Hellcat. There's even a window in the hood to look through, not unlike a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. The coupe also wears new headlights with LED turn signals that activate in sequence, just like the taillights, and the interior features black-and-gold Recaro seats.
Also set for its SEMA debut is an MRT showcar that takes the EcoBoost Mustang for a gallop with its TKO treatment. The black and orange two-tone car has been designed to incorporate select road racing elements. Mechanical upgrades include 14-inch brake rotors with new ducts, a Vortech air-to-air intercooler and an Air Lift suspension. The Mustang also shows off the company's products for added style and performance including a hood with integrated heat extractors and a unique front splitter.

Ford supports bid for Detroit Rallycross race with Motown-minded Fiesta ST vid

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

As Ford continues its cheerleading effort to help bring the 2014 Summer X Games to its hometown of Detroit, MI, it has released footage of its 2014 Fiesta ST Rallycross car on location at some of the city's well-known landmarks. This video appears to have been shot around the same time as the previous X Games Detroit video was made, but it focuses 100-percent on rally car action.
With Ford Racing driver Andreas Eriksson behind the wheel, this Fiesta ST lays down some serious rubber atop Detroit's Cobo Hall parking structure, at Belle Isle and around the Michigan Central Depot. Detroit isn't alone in the bid for a three-year X Games contract as Chicago, Austin and Charlotte are also hoping to play host. The winning host city is expected to be announced this summer. Scroll down for Ford's two-minute video showing the Fiesta ST Rallycrossing through the Motor City.

Ford Australia debuts Ranger-based Everest SUV concept

Tue, 13 Aug 2013

Ford has been in hot water in Australia ever since it announced plans to end local production of the Falcon and Territory SUV. Besides canceling a model that is to Oz what the Mustang is to America, the end of production means more than a few folks will be out of work.
Keen to prove that it has a plan for the market, Ford has unveiled the Aussie-penned Everest Concept, a rough-and-tumble, seven-seat SUV. While not a direct replacement for the aging Territory (that role will eventually be filled by either the Edge or Flex, according to Car Advice) it's an indication from Ford's brass that the Blue Oval is still committed to Australia.
To prove that fact, Alan Mullaly, Mark Fields, Jim Farley and regional execs descended on Sydney for the debut of the new concept. Ford's Australian president and CEO, Bob Graziano, said of the Everest, "Our customers, our employees and Australia can be assured that we're connected to the nation and committed to our customers through terrific products with class-leading technologies."
