1974 Ford Gran Torino Sport.

Car runs and drives great and would make for a wonderful daily driver, weekend car, or an easy restoration project. I'll breakdown the rest for easy reading.

The Good:

-Two door
-Garage kept
-No rust
-Low miles (78,000)
-Great interior
-New tires
-New alternator
-Brand new carpet
-Interior is near perfect
-Chrome is all there and in great condition
-Runs strong
-Does not require smog
-Paint is good and original (one problem area on hood, see pictures)
-No peeling or damage to the vinyl top (read more about the vinyl top below)
-Unique classic car (people always stop to look and talk about it)

The Bad:

-There's some surface rust on the left hand side of the hood (see pics). Luckily the hood comes off easy so if you choose to repaint it it won't cost much. If you are handy you might elect to do it yourself.
-There's a small ding on the right fender lip. It's subtle and would be an easy fix. (see pics, but it's hard to make out)
-Slight paint discoloration where an old bumper sticker used to be. (see pics)

Other Info:

The vinyl roof is in great condition and has been properly taken care of, however if you would rather have a hardtop you are in luck, because  the conversion is supposedly simple, however I can not say for certain, as the vinyl has never been replaced or removed.

I've read testimonials saying that once you remove the vinyl that it's just a matter of removing the glue and then you are good to go, and I've read others that say that the top will need paint afterward. I guess Ford did the vinyl tops differently over time. There's a few Torino and Starsky and Hutch fan sites on the web that may be able to further assist you if you decide to do the conversion.

Other:

Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to cancel the auction early.

You can make an appointment to come see the car, just need a days notice.

I check my mail frequently, so feel free to ask any questions at any time.

Won't ship the car for you, but will work with shippers if you decide to go that route.

Payment:

Cash, credit card, wire, or Paypal.

Thanks for looking, happy bidding!

2014 Ford F-150 Tremor adds some sport to shake things up

Thu, 27 Jun 2013

Like most quakes, the 2014 Ford F-150 Tremor caught us by surprise. We weren't expecting Ford to offer up another version of its best-seller so soon before the truck's full redesign, but that's exactly what the company is doing.
While Ford calls the Tremor a "performance truck," the new pickup doesn't play on the same level as the SVT Raptor does on dirt, or even the long-gone SVT Lightning did on pavement. Think of it as a parts bin sport truck that probably does a better job looking the part than acting it. The Tremor utilizes the same twin-turbo, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 available across the F-150 lineup, producing 365 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, but matches it with a 4.10 rear axle - the shortest final drive ratio you can get in an F-150 - for the strongest possible acceleration.
The Tremor does do a decent job looking the part. Available only in short-wheelbase, regular cab configuration with your choice of two- or four-wheel drive, it struts around wearing the F-150's FX Appearance Package, flat black accents, 20-inch black wheels, HID headlights and a special exterior graphics package. The Tremor is the only regular cab F-150 with a flow-through center console, which means it also gets a floor-mounted shifter and bucket seats that are covered in black leather with red piping. Some brushed metal accents and steering wheel with red stitching round out the interior upgrades.

PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner [w/video]

Wed, 19 Jun 2013

PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling. Each truck was given points based on how it scored in each evaluation.
Who came out on top? Somewhat surprisingly, the 2013 Ford F-150 walked away with the gold, though fewer than 50 points separated first and fourth place. Head over to PickupTrucks.com to read the full evaluation and the final results. You may be shocked to see exactly where some of the segment's newest additions placed. You can also watch a video on the test below.

Ken Block hoons his Ford F-150 RaptorTrax on the slopes

Wed, 08 Oct 2014

Ken Block drives Fords. Hoons the heck out of 'em, actually. Mostly Fiestas, but also the occasional Focus or Mustang. But earlier this year, the Gymkhana guru revealed his baddest Ford yet: an F-150 SVT Raptor on tracks. And true to form, here he is putting it to the test in the latest video from Monster Energy and Hoonigan Racing.
Filmed at Baldface Lodge in Nelson, BC, the video pairs Block up with snowboarders Zak Hale and Ethan Deiss for some deep-powder action. You'll want to watch the video for yourself, but the bottom line is that the RaptorTrax beats the heck out of waiting on line for the ski lift. It's enough to make us start to look forward to winter... almost.
