THIS IS A VERY RARE 1970 TORINO GT  ITS A MATCHING NUMBERS  351C , 4 SPEED CAR.  I INCLUDED THE MARTI REPORT ON THE CAR TO DOCUMENT ITS RARITY.  THE CAR HAS A  4V 351C AND RUNS GREAT. PREVIOUS OWNER PUT A CAM IN IT AND IT SOUNDS IT, IT MAKES PLENTY OF POWER . THE HURST SHIFTED 4 SPEED TRANSMISSION SHIFTS GREAT THROUGH ALL THE GEARS, AND  CLUTCH FEELS NEW.  THE CAR HAS THE FACTORY  9 INCH POSI  IN IT. IT HAS NEW BRAKES AND HARDWARE, GOOD EXHAUST SYSTEM AND THE FRONTEND IS TIGHT.  AS YOU CAN SEE BY ALL THE PICTURES THE CAR IS REMARKABLY  STRAIGHT WITH THE EXCEPTION OF SOME DINGS AND A  SMALL DENT IN THE RIGHT QUARTER  EASLIY REPARABLE.   THE CAR WAS AN ORIGINAL 4 SPEED BENCH SEAT CAR,  THE PREVIOUS OWNER TOLD ME THE COBRA INTERIOR ,BUCKET SEATS, DOOR PANELS AND CONSOLE  WERE DEALER INSTALLED WHEN BOUGHT. THE CAR ALSO HAS THE VERY VERY HARD TO FIND METAL FACTORY REAR WINDOW LOUVERS AND THE HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER HIDEAWAY HEADLIGHTS WHICH FUNCTION FINE.  THE PREVIOUS OWNER TOOK THE GT HOOD OFF AND ADDED THE FLAT HOOD WITH THE "mustang" SHAKER INSTEAD OF THE TORINO SHAKER WITH THE POINT, WHICH SOME WOULD SAY LOOKS BETTER ANYWAY., AND  HE  ADDED THE SUNROOF. IF I KEPT THE CAR  I WOULD REMOVED IT WHEN THE CAR WAS RE-PAINTED. THE CAR HAS THE RARE FACTORY DASH INSTALLED RIBBON TACH . ITS NOT WORKING BUT IS PROBABLY SOMETHING SIMPLE.  THE TORQUE THRUST WHEELS  AND TIRES ARE WHAT CAME ON THE CAR WHEN WE  GOT IT.   THE CAR HAD AN AFTERMARKET RADIO AND EQUILIZER INSTALLED IN THE DASH.   THE CAR IS REGISTERED NOW AND DRIVEN FREQUENTLY.  I WAS. GOING TO RESTORE THE CAR,  BUT TO MANY PROJECTS AND JUST NOT ENOUGH TIME TO GET TO IT ANY TIME SOON.  THIS IS A REAL MUSCLE CAR NOT SOMEONES HACKED UP CLONE.

MAINE DOES NOT TITLE CARS 15 YEARS AND OLDER BUT A CURRENT MAINE REGISTRATION WILL GET YOU A TITLE  IN YOUR STATE.

Ford won't be releasing GT500 lap times for the 'Ring, or any other car

Wed, 27 Nov 2013

Trucks have towing capacity, EVs have driving range and performance cars have Nürburgring lap times. What do all three have in common? They should all be taken with a grain of salt. Currently, there is no sanctioned way to record lap times or verify production-spec cars - a lesson we recently learned with the 2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo - and until there is a way to do so (and there probably never will be), we'll never officially know the actual time it took for Ford to lap the 'Ring with its ultra-powerful Shelby GT500.
After posting a Ford-made video of a 2013 GT500 running around the 'Ring, the guys over at SVTPerformance.com (an enthusiasts forum not affiliated with Ford or SVT) wanted more answers. They got in touch with Ford's Global Performance Vehicle Chief Engineer Jamal Hameedi, who said until there is a way to verify the times and inspect the cars, Ford will not get involved with lap-time wars. In the email, Hameedi pointed out that the 'Ring is a useful tool in that it allows a wide spectrum of track conditions, but until there is a governed way to record times, there is no way to accurately compare cars head-to-head.
And as much as some may not like it, Hameedi speaks the truth. It really isn't possible to compare times from one car to another, unless those cars were lapping the same track at the same time with the same driver. Not that any of this means there won't be continuous wars by fans and manufacturers alike... in other words, feel free to voice your opinions in the Comments below.

Ford issues six recalls covering 101,000 vehicles for multiple issues

Tue, 08 Jul 2014

Ford is announcing six separate recalls for a variety of issues affecting a dozen models and a total of 100,610 vehicles in North America. However, according to Ford spokesperson Kelli Felker, "None of them have caused accidents or injuries." Half of them cover fewer than 1,000 cars.
The largest recall covers 92,022 North American examples (about 83,250 in the US) of some models of the Ford Taurus, Lincoln MKS, Ford Interceptor, Flex and Lincoln MKT from the 2013 and 2014 model years; the 2012-2014 Edge and the 2014 Lincoln MKX. All of them have a potential issue with the halfshaft on the right side that might not be fully seated and could move outward over time. If it shifts too far, the models may no longer be able to drive, and the condition could also allow the vehicles to roll away, even when in Park. Dealers will inspect the shaft to make sure it's seated and will replace the part if necessary.
The next-largest recall covers 5,264 North American examples (4,867 in the US) of the Ford F59 Commercial Stripped Chassis from the 2011-2014 model years. It's possible that an electrical junction box can corrode in areas with salty roads and short circuit. The problem could potentially cause a fire. Dealers will replace the box with an improved design.

Woman trades 1914 Model T in for 2013 Corvette

Wed, 17 Apr 2013

We're sure that dealers must see all sorts of interesting trade ins, but this one may take the cake. Red River Chevrolet in Bossier City, Louisiana, recently had a customer come in with an odd request. Tina Boyter wanted to trade in three vehicles on a brand-new 2013 Chevy Corvette. Among the hardware was 1980 Corvette, a 1978 Cadillac Eldorado and a 1914 Ford Model T. While the '80 Corvette had been her personal car for years, the '78 Eldorado had belonged to Boyter's mother before she traded up to a Lincoln. The big Caddy had just 10,290 miles on the clock when it was traded in.
And the Model T? Boyter says the car was built as a racer by Ford, and that it had been a show winner for years when it belonged to her father. But, after spending the last 16 years in a museum with its fluids drained, Boyter decided it was time to shed some of the past. She walked into the dealer, laid eyes on a white 2LT Corvette with a red interior and offered to trade all three of the vehicles in on the sports car.
Why not wait for the C7? "I fell in love with that one when I walked in the door," She said. We can't fault her there.
