1970 Ford Torino Gt 5.0l Convertible on 2040-cars
Aurora, Illinois, United States
Extremely nice survivor car no rust and unrestored with 110k miles Buckets/console 302 auto trans excellent running and driving car with approx. 40% wear on tires UNMOLESTED all stock original...except for new correct carpet and sill plates previous owner had installed.....electric top looks to be near new and works fine, glass back window...I've owned for about 2 years drive it around town and to cruise nites in good weather and stored indoors in nice garage during winter as obviously have the previous owner of this car....the paint and body are in good used condition with some minor stone chips and a couple of panels having been repainted for minor unknown reasons over the 44 years this car has lived and it shines well....The 302 2bbl. actually gets the best gas mileage of any car I own and I think has contributed to the adult owned and driven its whole life "feeling" you get when you see it and drive it....not beat on, not altered, well maintained, ect,.,..I think the choke could stand some adjustment as you need to feather the gas pedal when engines cold, other times it works too well on high idle, but, in warm weather when it's usually driven it doesn't take long to warm up so I never bothered, It does get up and go and is not a slouch....trans shifts perfectly....I do have the owners manual with warranty card and a service report from the factory inspection line and I did purchase a Marti report...NADAGUIDES.com prices the car at $48,600.00....probably a bit high now but in a few more years who knows...Clear Title in my name in my hands....the aftermarket GT wheels seen in some pics do not go with car except with buy it now price....I turn off my computer at 9 p.m central time so you may not get an answer to your questions till the next morning....thanks for looking

Evo grabs Ford's Fiesta R5 rally car by the scruff
Wed, 04 Sep 2013Evo and host Henry Catchpole were thinking of excuses reasons to borrow the bonkers Ford Fiesta R5 rally car for a day or two, when it struck them: the car is street legal. With access to the R5, some of the world's most beautiful driving roads in the English Lake Country nearby, and a handy video crewing hanging around, the plan seemed to write itself.
Based on the resulting video, it was a good plan. Without spoiling the video for you - something we can't really do in text as the best part is listening to the rally car run - Catchpole finds the Fiesta to be sublimely quick and massively satisfying. Even taking the car for a spin on a pseudo rally stage, after leaving the English countryside, does nothing but add to his assessment of the beastly little Ford. Scroll on below to see for yourself, and enjoy the ride.
Auto investor Kirk Kerkorian dead at 98
Wed, Jun 17 2015Kirk Kerkorian, among the most talked-about investors in the American auto industry in recent memory, died at the age of 98 in Los Angeles on Monday, June 15. The billionaire ran the investment company Tracinda Corp. and was the largest shareholder in MGM Resorts International. Kerkorian attempted to use his power as a well-financed investor to push the auto industry in some fascinating ways. In 2006, he used his nearly 10-percent stake in General Motors to push a merger with the Renault-Nissan Alliance. The deal made it as far as discussions, but eventually fell through. Kerkorian also attempted to purchase Chrysler - twice. According to Automotive News, the first effort came in 1995 with a $22.8-billion offer for the automaker, and soon after it failed the company merged with Daimler. Then in 2007, Kerkorian was back with a bid for $4.5 billion, but things eventually fell to Cerberus. The billionaire finished the trifecta by buying up $1 billion in Ford stock in 2008 to make Kerkorian the single largest investor in the company. However, the situation didn't last long, and by the end of that year, he had unloaded the shares. According to Automotive News, Kerkorian was ranked by Forbes as the world's 41st richest man in 2008 with a net worth of $16 billion. Ford spotted testing new Focus RS at the Nurburgring
Thu, 26 Jun 2014Ford is expected to be launching a revised version of the Focus ST soon, but the latest snapshots from our spy photographers at the Nürburgring suggest that the Blue Oval is already working on an even more potent example: the new Focus RS.
Though the partially disguised test mule is wearing an ST badge (along with a Dewey sticker that makes us wonder what adventures Huey and Louie are up to and what manner of duck-tail rear spoiler they may be wearing), there are several tell-tale signs that something else is afoot here. There's a larger front air dam, bigger brake calipers, dual exhaust tips (instead of the central exhaust on the ST) and a reshaped wing protruding from the trailing edge of the roof.
That may all be well and fine, but what's under the hood? We don't know yet for sure, but word has it that Ford is preparing to port over the 2.3-liter turbo four offered in the new Mustang, where it packs 305 horsepower and almost as much torque - potentially retuned to produce even more for the top-of-the-line Focus, which could channel it all to the front wheels like the last model or pack an all-wheel drive system. The Global C platform on which the Focus is based does, after all, also underpin AWD models like the Ford Escape and Lincoln MKC.
