A beautiful 1971 Ford Torino 500 2dr. with less than 15,000 actual miles and personally autographed by Jack Roush. This trophy winning Ford is a garage kept, rust free, turn key, ready to show and go looker with plenty of documentation including original window sticker, mileage statement, and original purchase order from The Moberly Motor Company in Missouri. This original wimbledon white ford comes with a fully detailed 302 V8, automatic, dual exhaust, factory 15" Magnum 500 Rally wheels and BF Goodrich white letters, perfect trim and chrome, an immaculent trunk area and original spare and jack, and detailed undercarriage. Blue vinyl top is original and like new. Blue interiot is all original and like new. Runs, drives and sounds great!
Note: This is "not" a wreck or rebuild! This car was bought new by a lady in 1971. It was left to her niece when she passed away at 91 years of age. Her niece kept the car in her heated and insulated garage until I purchased it. The niece verified that her "Aunt Flossie" drove this car 1/2 mile to town and 1/2 mile home everyday for 30 years. I did have it repainted the original wimbledon white in a base coat, clear coat to give it a nice deep shine. There are no dings, dents, and very, very little visible wear to the naked eye. Jack Roush personally autographed the dash for me and a framed picture comes with it. You'll also recieve with this car a personally autographed by Brian Keselowski Torino replica diecast, and a gold-chrome Talledega Torino #43 diecast, personally autographed by "The King" Richard Petty with picture of them signing. There is a small lien on this car that we will satisfy before taking possession.
Included with this car, you will receive an actual one-of-a-kind, impossible to find Martinsville Grandfather Clock Trophy won by Morgan Shepherd at Martinsville Speedway in 1979. This was given to me as a gift by Morgan Shepherd personally. With his blessing, I'm including it with this package. This is a highly coveted trophy by NASCAR drivers that stands 78" tall and 16 1/2" wide with a race winner plate and personally autographed by Morgan Shepherd. The Martinsville race has given Ridgeway grandfather clocks as trophies since 1964 and this one is an actual Gravely Furniture Company made clock. Today's clocks are made in Michigan by The Howard Miller Company. You cannot find or buy these anywhere. You can own a piece of NASCAR history that is a must have for the serious collector and can actually be more valuable than the Torino. This clock is in cherry wood finish and perfect operating condition. Morgan won this trophy clock in the Late Model Sportsman Series(now known as the Nationwide Series) the year before he won the 1980 championship.
You will also recieve a custom built Golf-Cart with graphic design of Brian Keselowski's #52 Wreaths Across America 2013 Daytona 500 race car with your company name included and personally autographed by Brian Keselowski.
Also included in this package is a season long honorary TruckerFan.com team associate sponsorship including two(2) guest passes to all Camping World Truck Series events on the 2013 schedule and any race event that rian Keselowski may be entered into the Sprint Cup Series. These passes can be offered to family, friends, employees, co-workers, company management, or clients. Your name or company name or even that special tribute will be on the race car as an associate sponsor and included on our Truckerfan.com team website throughout the year as a sponsor for additional advertisement. In the pit-area, you'll hang out with our sponsored team, meet other teams and drivers up close for pictures, autographs, and a memorable experience that lasts a lifetime and all for a great cause!
There is a reserve on this package. Our hopes is to raise enough funding to continue the Wreaths Across America awareness through our race teams and our fundriasing efforts. To feel more comfortable before you bid, you may contact our company our company at www.truckerfan.com for more information, details and additional photos. Shipping of your winning bid can also be arranged.
Thank you for your bid!

Mixed sales results, but automaker stocks rise on need for cars in Houston
Fri, Sep 1 2017DETROIT — The Big Three Detroit automakers on Friday reported better-than-expected August sales and issued optimistic outlooks for demand as residents of the Houston area replace flood-damaged cars and trucks after Hurricane Harvey, sending their stocks higher. General Motors, Ford and Fiat Chrysler posted mixed August U.S. sales, with GM up 7.5 percent and Ford and Fiat Chrysler down. Japanese automaker Toyota improved sales by nearly 7 percent, while Honda fell 2.4 percent. Still, analysts focused on the potential for Detroit automakers to cut inventories and stabilize used vehicle prices as residents of Houston, the fourth largest city in the United States, are forced to replace tens of thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands, of vehicles after the devastation from Hurricane Harvey. Mark LaNeve, Ford's U.S. sales chief, told analysts on Friday that following Hurricane Katrina in 2005 "we saw a very dramatic snapback" in demand. That said, Ford sales fell 2.1 percent in August. It sold 209,897 vehicles in the United States, compared with 214,482 a year earlier. Sales were down 1.9 percent in the Ford division and off 5.8 percent at Lincoln. Demand was down for cars, crossovers and SUVs. It was not clear how many vehicles in the Houston area will be scrapped, LaNeve said, saying he had seen estimates ranging from 200,000 to 400,000 to 1 million. Ford's Houston dealers may have lost fewer than 5,000 vehicles in inventory, he said. Ford is the No. 1 automaker in the Houston market, with 18 percent share, according to IHS Markit. The company plans to ship used vehicles to Houston dealers and has "every indication we would have to add some production" of new vehicles to meet demand, LaNeve said. Investor concerns about inventories of unsold vehicles and falling used car prices have weighed on Detroit automakers' shares most of this year. Now, automakers can anticipate a jolt of demand from a big market that is a stronghold for Detroit brand trucks and SUVs. "It's got to be a positive for the industry," LaNeve said. Investors appeared to agree. GM shares rose as much as 3.3 percent to their highest since early March. Ford increased 2.8 percent at $11.34, and Fiat Chrysler's U.S.-traded shares were up 5.2 percent $15.91, hitting their highest in more than five years. GM reported a 7.5 percent increase in U.S. auto sales in August, helped by robust sales of crossovers across its four brands.
Car and Driver shows off awesome 1960s ads
Fri, Sep 11 2015Someone must have recently rediscovered the keys to the archives at Car and Driver, and the access has been put to good use. Following last month's fantastic look at automotive ads from the '50s, there's now a new gallery running from March 1960 through December 1969. This collection provides a great overview of a decade full of iconic cars. If you're a fan of Carroll Shelby, particularly his Mustangs, then there's a lot to love among this group. One ad from July 1965 aimed to sell the GT350, but with an ocean of text and a tiny picture, it probably could've used a once-over by Don Draper's team. By December '65, the copywriters ironed out the problems with a spot proclaiming boldly "Shelby GT350 is 'Son of Cobra.'" The company offered some great accessories, too. For those into European motoring, there's a humorous attempt to sell the Alfa Romeo Giulia as both a racecar and family hauler. Toyota also boasts about the winning record for the 2000GT. Among the best text comes from BMW for lines like: "What's BMW got? The most advanced high-performance engine in any production car, for a cruising speed of 100 mph." Of course, Volkswagen's famous "Lemon" ad for the Beetle also gets its due here. Separately, each of these ads is fascinating, but taken together they tell the story of a great decade of motoring. Go give them all a read at Car and Driver. Ford's J Mays feels vindicated by Fusion reception
Tue, 25 Sep 2012It's hard to think back now, but the same man overseeing the design of the 2013 Ford Fusion also presided over a rather lackluster period in Ford design, highlighted by vehicles like the Five Hundred and Freestyle. With the redesigned Fusion receiving high praise, J Mays tells Automotive News that he feels vindicated from criticisms suggesting he's not a daring enough designer.
When Mays took over as lead of design in 1997, he admits to having quite an ego ("My head would barely fit through the door some days. I've long since gotten over myself") and the workload to match. With the Blue Oval's portfolio full of premium brands like Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo at that point, along with the bread-and-butter Ford, Lincoln and Mercury models, Mays certainly had quite the challenge.
It was in the mid-2000s that Mays took over just the premium brands, and took on the new title of Chief Creative Officer. At the time, Mays endured some criticism for looking backwards to retro styling, rather than setting a new standard for American car design - criticism that Mays says he is free from with the all-new Fusion.
