NV CAR DEALER # 40339, Vin # 2Y83Z129935, True Mileage Unknown -- This is a One-of-a-kind Custom Convertible Tonneau Ford T-Bird.   The top was skillfully removed a couple of owners ago and a look-a-like padded tonneau was added to cover up the back seats to create a two seat look sports roadster..(the back seat is still under the tonneau!), but you can own this one for a fraction of what a true Sports Roadster would cost.. and again, this bird is custom one of a kind.     The current owner has kept this car in the family for many years.. and it was originally and still is a Las Vegas car, so that means very little to no rust...  Current owner also has the Hard top that was removed in such a way that it can be put back on, if the need ever arises...

This bird has new drum brakes only about 40 miles ago... it has a strong running Edelbrock 650 4 Barrel carb.   But the owner still has the original Holley carb and Air Intake.   It has a more modern Electronic Ignition so no need to adjust points.   It has a new exhaust and the undercarriage in completely undercoated to prevent rust and keep down road noise and vibrations... Chrome wheels & Baby Moon hubcaps... Swing away steering wheel for easy entry after a big meal... lol...   We will add a photo of the original roof soon... PS this car does not have a soft convertible top, so plan accordingly.    Like any other vintage cars, there may be other things that we can not predict about the condition of the car, but we can tell that overall it's a very cool looking and great running, driver-quality,  rocket age , bullet nose T-bird.  Just buy it and prepare for TAKE-OFF !!!!

Please note, I am a boutique classic car dealer in Nevada, so any Nevada residents who purchase this car to register in Nevada will need to pay a 8.1 % Nevada sales tax and a $99 documentation fee... but I have taken this into consideration in the great-value pricing of this car.

Come to Vegas to party and drive home an incredible vehicle that is quite a lot of class, fun and quality for the money ! Best, Steve in Las Vegas cell 213 500 8619

Barrett-Jackson 2014: First production 2015 Ford Mustang earns $300k for JDRF [w/video]

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

We've almost become immune to the huge dollar amounts that collectible cars earn for charity at Barrett-Jackson. To wit, $300,000 for the first production 2015 Ford Mustang initially didn't seem like very much money. In reality, though, it's probably about 10 times the actual asking price for the car, and we're pleased to report that 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
According to Ford, the car's winning bidder will get to "choose a fastback with manual or automatic transmission, and any interior, exterior and stripe color combination offered by Ford on the all-new Mustang." Power will come from a slightly revised version of the well-known 5.0-liter V8 engine that will produce "more than 420hp and 396 pound-feet of torque."
We snapped live images of the 2015 Mustang prototype that Ford had on display here at Barrett-Jackson, and you can check them out above. The official auction description, along with a video of the auction as it happened live, is below.

NHTSA closes Ford F-150 EcoBoost acceleration probe

Mon, 14 Apr 2014

Typically when we report on the findings of an investigation from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, it's because the government body has discovered a safety issue and prescribed a recall. In this case, however, NHTSA has closed an investigation into a reported performance deficit without ever getting to the recall stage.
The issue revolves around the Ford F-150 - specifically those equipped with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine - of which some 360,000 were built in the 2011, 2012 and 2013 model years. After receiving an initial 95 complaints, NHTSA opened an investigation last May - almost a year ago - into the reported issue of reduced engine power under hard acceleration. The agency has since received a total of 525 such complaints, and Ford itself reported receiving over 4,000.
Together, NHTSA and Ford determined that the problem resulted from cylinders misfiring, an issue itself stemming from water getting into the charge air cooler (CAC) mated to the turbochargers. In particularly humid or rainy conditions, water was found to get into the CAC, causing some of the cylinders to misfire, which in turn triggered the ECU to disable those cylinders in order to protect the catalytic converter from damage.

2015 Ford Mustang GT Line-Lock Burnout

Mon, 03 Nov 2014

In this brief Short Cut, Autoblog's Steven Ewing demonstrates Line-Lock on the 2015 Ford Mustang GT. Accessed through an on-screen performance menu, the feature temporarily locks the front brakes to help you heat up the rear tires for better traction, as you would for drag racing. The result? A 15-second smokescreen.
