1977 FORD THUNDERBIRD

ONE OWNER

1,924 ACTUAL MILES

NO RUST

ALL ORIGINAL

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING

Before describing this car, it is important for me to note that it has NOT been cleaned up for pictures.  How you see it in the pictures, is how it came out of the garage.  The motor was NOT repainted and the motor was NOT shined up.  I wanted to highlight the originality and its true condition so that potential buyers can appreciate the vehicle and relish in the rarity of its condition and miles.

This 1977 Ford Thunderbird was purchased brand new on Febuary 14th, 1977 from Midway Ford in St. Paul Minnesota.  The original Purchase Agreement and Billing Invoice highlights the following options it came with: 351 Engine($92), Factory Air Conditioning($521), Tinted Glass($61), AM/FM Radio + Tape deck($193), Wire Wheel Covers($99) and a few other options that I can't quite make out.  The car was purchased brand new for $6,486.56 including vehicle option, sales tax and license fees.

This beauty has graced the road with her presence for ONLY 1,924.9 miles.

The condition of the vehicle hasn't changed since 1977 with the exception of a small crack in right part of the windshield.  If you ask me to describe the condition of the vehicle, SHOWROOM condition is all that is necessary to say.  It is that nice.  This is one of the cleanest and most original, if not the cleanest, 1977 Ford Thunderbirds you will ever have the opportunity to purchase.

The 351 engine starts and runs beautifully.  The transmission shifts perfect.  Everything works perfect.  Everything is completely original and rust free.  The undercarriage, trunk, interior, and engine bay are absolutely excpetional and indicate actual miles. This is so original it still has it's original tires.

All supporting documentation include: The Original Purchase Agreement and Billing Invoice from Midway Ford,  Original Ten Day Temporary Permit, Original 1977 Thunderbird Sales Brochure, and the even the Original Title.

THIS IS A ONE OF A KIND CAR THAT I ENCOURAGE YOU TO COME VIEW AND DRIVE!

PLEASE ASK ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS! I AM MORE THAN HAPPY TO SEND ADDITIONAL PHOTOS.

It would be hard to find a nicer example, anywhere.  You only come across the best of the best once in a while and these cars are only original once! This is truly a fine example of a Classic Thunderbird.

Focus ST diesel variant coming, just don't look for it here

Fri, 07 Mar 2014

A few years back, Volkswagen made some waves when it announced the Golf GTD - a diesel-powered car that, aside from its ultra-efficient, ultra-torquey engine, was identical to the gas-powered GTI. That meant cosseting sport seats, larger wheels, sportier suspension, larger brakes and a body kit that made the GTD indistinguishable from the GTI, except for the three little letters on the back and in the grille.
Now, Ford is looking to replicate VW's success, with a diesel version of the Focus ST. According to Motor Trend, the diesel-powered ST will use a 2.0-liter, 182-horsepower four-cylinder. With an unspecified amount of torque on offer (we'd guess around 280 pound-feet), the diesel hot hatch should hit 62 miles per hour in about eight seconds.
The report, which originally comes from Auto Express, claims the ST Diesel was confirmed by Ford Chief Marketing Officer Mark Fields during this week's Geneva Motor Show. Not surprisingly, it doesn't appear there are any plans to bring a diesel-powered Focus of any kind to the US, let alone one that uses the suspension, steering and other items from the ST. Of course, if there's an official confirmation from Ford, we'll be sure to report on it.

Next Ford F-150 delayed for aluminum body panel issues?

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

The timetable for next-generation Ford F-150 may be in trouble if a report from The Truth About Cars is true. The next F-150 is slated to make extensive use of weight-saving aluminum in its body, but the aluminum alloy provided by suppliers hasn't met Ford's requirements in the earliest phases of pre-production, according to the report.
The F-150 represents a huge portion of Ford's profits and is the best-selling truck in the US, even in the face of increased pressure from cross-town rivals General Motors and Ram. While the current truck is treading water against its competition, we'd be lying if we said the F-150 weren't growing quite long in the tooth.
If production of the next-generation of the Ford cash cow, said to be based on the Atlas Concept from the 2013 Detroit Auto Show (pictured above), is delayed, it could be bad for Ford. Production at Ford's Dearborn Truck Plant is already set to be delayed six to ten weeks, missing an internal on-sale deadline of Memorial Day.

How Ford hid the 2015 Mustang from spy photographers

Fri, 20 Dec 2013

Now that we've finally seen the 2015 Ford Mustang, it's fun to go back and look at the spy shots we spent months pouring over, trying to dissect what was under all the camouflage. For the most part, Ford did a good job of concealing the car from spy photographers, and it released a video showing how much work went into doing so.
As crude as the Mustang's camo looked, all of the hard plastic, foam, vinyl and ratchet straps were actually created and put in place by a specific design team. The whole idea was to hide the car's identity, but it certainly ended up acting as a magnet for attention, too. According to Ford's press release, it took less than an hour for spy shots to appear online after the car was taken on public roads for the very first time - this is likely in reference to our first official spy shots of the Mustang from June, shown in the gallery below.
Scroll down for a press release and video, which shows footage of the 2015 Ford Mustang testing with minimal camouflage. This is probably the same track session where we got our first look at the Mustang's face back in August.
