I have a gorgeous, one of a kind, custom painted 1960 Ford Thunderbird. It is a tribute to the custom scalloping that Larry Watson was doing in the late 1950's in Los Angeles. This is a real stand out car and literally blows people away. You pretty much won't see another one like it.. The $7500 scalloping paint job was done in a gorgeous Tangerine metallic with a hand painted green pin striping to set it off, STUNNING!

The car has some cool factory features like working power windows, seat & clock. It also has power steering and brakes and she drives effortlessly down the road like a new one. It has 85K original miles on the original 352V8 Auto, rated from the factory @ 300 H.P. They are a very powerful car if you have not ever driven one.

Here is a list of the things done to her:

- New harmonic balancer
- New fuel pump with vacuum assist
- New timing chain
- New points, condenser, rotor button, distributor cap and wires
- New double platinum spark plugs
- New Holley carburetor
- Rebuilt power steering cylinder
- New water pump
- New fan belts
- New valve seals
- Road draft tube converted to PCV system
- New headlight and high beam switches
- New bulbs and lamps throughout entire car
- New modern stereo with iPod jack, (4) speakers and remote
- New door lock cylinders with keys
- New coolant hoses
- New heater core and valve
- New exhaust with factory type mufflers
- Lots of other new miscellaneous items like new chrome bumpers, trim, etc.
- Custom paint and pin striping by Jerry's House of Color in Ohio
- Lowered springs in the front
- 3 inch lowering blocks in the rear
- New chrome smoothie wheels
- 85,000 +/- original miles

The car is not 100% perfect as the work was done a few years ago, and now has some paint chips here and there and a tear on the passenger seat base, but all very minor things. Overall she is a really nice looking and driving car that will set you way apart at your next meet.

Ford Mondeo classes up with premium Vignale trim

Wed, 11 Sep 2013

Back in the day, Vignale was a carrozzeria of the highest order, alongside the likes of Pininfarina, Bertone and Zagato. But like Giugiaro-ItalDesign and Ghia, it has since been subsumed into a larger auto group. Ford ended up with it under its umbrella when it took over De Tomaso, and has since used the moniker for a number of concept cars. Now the name is back in the form of a new upscale sub-brand for the European market.
The first new model to receive the Vignale treatment is the Mondeo, which Ford unveiled here at the Frankfurt Motor Show in both sedan and wagon forms. Positioned above the Titanium trim, the Vignale model gets such special touches as chrome trim and a quilted leather interior, Vignale badges replacing any mention of the Mondeo on which it's based. It also gains an ownership experience - including free car washes for life! - to befit the upscale positioning.
Under the bright spotlights above the show floor, the Nocciola metallic brown paint might not be the most photogenic, but will likely give the Vignale edition a more premium look when it hits European dealers and roads in 2015. Whether it'll be worth however much Ford asks for it, however, remains to be seen. Scroll down below for the official press release.

Ford to add more than 2,000 jobs in Kansas City

Thu, 02 May 2013

Continued high demand for the Ford F-150, along with the addition of the all-new Transit series of commercial vehicles, has led Ford to announce that it will add over 2,000 jobs at its Kansas City Assembly Plant. At the time of the announcement, the plant boasts 2,450 hourly employees working on two shifts. All told, Ford will invest $1.1 billion in the Kansas City plant to expand truck production and begin producing the Transit series.
According to the automaker, fullsize truck sales are up 19 percent through April of 2013, leading to an additional 900 workers and a third shift of production for the F-150. Production of the Transit series will begin in the fourth quarter of this year, requiring an additional 1,100 workers. In addition, Ford estimates that a total of 18,000 jobs will be created by suppliers to its Kansas City plant to support the additional vehicle production.
