2002 Ford Thunderbird on 2040-cars
Norman, Indiana, United States
More details at: lorylrrabenstein@smallinvestors.net .
2002 Ford Thunderbird Inspiration Yellow with Yellow and Black Leather Seats. Removable Yellow Hardtop Black
Softtop. All other options as far as I know.
Selling Grandma's Thunderbird. It was the first Thunderbird sold in Indiana. Grandpa worked for Ford they also
bought the first Thunderbird in 1955. When she bought this one in 2002 the Indianapolis Star wrote up an article
about her buying both the first Thunderbirds that article is included with the sale. She actually paid $10,000
over the sticker price just so she could have the first one. I have the tag showing that. I'm 99% sure she paid
the total price almost two years before it was delivered.
The car has 15,556 miles as of today. It is in great shape. No dents that I can see. Never been wrecked. (edit
now I found out she did bump another lil old lady in 2008. There was apparently no damage though) There is one
scratch about an inch right above the license plate holder you can see in the pictures. Pretty sure that the
movers pushed the hardtop stand up into it when they were emptying her house and scratched it. Other than that I
can see nothing wrong with it. Always maintained by Don Hinds Ford the dealership she bought it from. They even
came out to her house and took the hardtop off and put it on the stand. In the last couple months it had the fuel
pump replaced for $1000 also a new battery. Runs and drives great. No mechanical problems that I know of.
Has the yellow hardtop, black soft top. The rolling storage stand for the hardtop also a soft cover for when the
soft top is down. It snaps in place I think.
Extras included Thunderbird book, diecast model car, various articles, original windshield sticker, photos, and
some other paperwork. She really loved this car. She kept all the info and paperwork the dealership gave her. I
would guess these will become collector cars in the near future, and someday all this paperwork should add to the
value.
With the low miles the car was rarely driven. She had two other cars she drove while keeping this for special
occasions. Never out in the snow or rain. I doubt this car ever went more the 20 miles from her house or above
50mph. Always filled up with the premium gas from the Shell by her house. Now she lives in a retirement home and
isn't able to drive. I know everyone tells the one owner lil old lady story, but in this instance I assure you it
is true.
Feel free to ask any questions. Car is currently in my garage. If you would like to view it I will do my best to
meet up with you. If it's shipped I will be happy to meet with the shippers and help if needed. I will be out of
town Friday & Saturday May 20-21 at a car show.

2014 Ford Fiesta ST
Tue, 15 Oct 2013I'm not overly inclined to professional jealousy, as a rule. Sure, I go a bit green around the eyes when Ramsey draws the 911 GT3 trip to Weissach, Harley is tapped-in to drive a completely stunning Porsche 911 by Singer, or, you know, Drew Phillips gets to shoot a Lamborghini Veneno in the middle of a desert like some sort of sheik. I hate you guys...
Honestly though, one of the new car events that dug me the most, was when our Steven J. Ewing got to fling the Ford Fiesta ST around some hot corner of Europe. What goes around comes around, I suppose, as Mr. Ewing himself espoused an envious nature of the Focus ST trip that came before.
The good news in all this covetous intra-office behavior? All the cars mentioned, and specifically the Fiesta ST, are just wonderful to drive. I can say that with more confidence than ever now, having joined Ford for a good bit of Fiesta-flinging myself. In my case, the locale was slightly more pedestrian (Michigan not Portugal), and the car in question was the five-door version of the Fiesta ST that we get here in The States, as opposed to the three-door number they get across the pond.
Nelson Piquet and Nigel Mansell revisit bitter F1 rivalry in... Ford Fusion campaign?
Wed, 23 Jan 2013Formula One World Champions Nelson Piquet and Nigel Mansell haven't been on good terms since the 1986 season, when Piquet joined Mansell at the Williams team and Piquet spent the year privately fuming about not being granted the status of number one driver. Things only got worse from there - even though Piquet won the title the following year with Williams, still partnered with Mansell, the fuming was a lot less private.
They're back together after a 25-year silence, in the city of Porto Alegre, Brazil to drive the new Ford Fusion. Called "Fusion Grand Prix," both men get the new Ford sedan, prepped to their liking - but still street legal, we assume - for a race to decide... well, who is faster behind the wheel of a Fusion.
There will be four episodes, with the first two having already aired. The third episode comes on January 29 and the race happens February 5. You'll find two video episodes and a press release below, but note - because it's a campaign for Ford Brazil, Piquet's dialogue in the vids isn't translated, so hit the Closed Captioning button to hear his side of the smack talking.
Ford Fiesta ST gets worked out on the track
Sun, 10 Mar 2013We're big fans of the turbocharged Ford Focus ST, and we're plenty excited that the Blue Oval will be offering a similar treatment on the smaller Fiesta here in the United States, too. We first saw the production-ready Fiesta ST five-door at the Los Angeles Auto Show last fall, and Ford has now released this video of a Euro-spec three-door ST being flung around the track.
But not just any track - the challenging Track 7 of Ford's Lommel Proving Grounds in Belgium. The course features 20 turns and plenty of elevation changes along its 2.7-mile loop, and David Put, a vehicle dynamic specialist at Ford, shows just how good the pint-sized Fiesta ST is at handling the lot, even getting the smallest ST up on three wheels every now and then.
It sure does look like a lot of fun, and makes us really eager for our chance to try this ourselves. Scroll down to see the hot little Ford getting busy.
