1996 Ford Thunderbird With Xenon Custom Ground Effects & Verde Regency Wheels on 2040-cars
Shelbyville, Tennessee, United States
Offered for sale is my wife's 1996 Raven Black Thunderbird with Custom CSI Motorsports Ground Effects and Rear Spoiler. Because my wife wanted the perfect Bird to keep, we searched long and hard to find the very nicest one out there. This one is it inside and outside. Now she has decided that a 4Runner suits her better so this awesome Thunderbird is for sale. I have receipts for way over $4500 worth of upgrades and maintenance to make this already pristine car just as solid as brand new. Nothing was overlooked from the front to the back. The list is too long to type but this car needs absolutely nothing for the next 100000 miles except oil changes and driving. Belts, hoses, ALL fluids changed, plugs/wires, wheel bearings, struts/shocks, ceramic brakes/rotors, wheels/tires, Kenwood Radio/CD/USB/Bluetooth/Pandora/Satellite capable/etc plus new speakers (I still have the factory radio, too), 2 1/4" Flowmaster exhaust, windows tinted all around with 35%, and much more. The interior of this car is perfect, and I mean perfect in every way. You could not tell that the car has ever been sat in and driven from the condition of the interior. The pictures will show zero wear/tear anywhere including the front driver's seat which is about the only one that has ever seen a butt. The original carpeted floor mats are like brand new and I had a custom embroidered set made as well to the tune of $200. It has never had a cigarette in it and the dash board is perfect even though I added a custom DashMat for looks. The trunk is Brand new inside and the original spare has never been disturbed. The 17" Verde Regency wheels are wrapped in 235/50-17 Yokohama Avid Envigor tires and wheels/tires have less than 5000 miles on them. The all original paint is in exceptional condition with just the normal bug marks on the front end and you will have to search for any other imperfections. The pictures tell the story and this car has been kept in this kind of condition since new and not "made up" to look great. This is truly a "one of a kind" car and I doubt you would ever find a nicer example anywhere. The car has Automatic Temperature Control, Automatic Headlights, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Power Moonroof, Power Driver Seat, Power Trunk Release, Power Antenna, Power Remote Side Mirrors both sides, Rear Window Defroster, Tilt Steering Wheel , Cruise Control, and comes with all the Original Books/ Manuals/ Keys, and both Original Keyless Remotes (which both work) and the Remote for the Kenwood Stereo. Every option works just like it should with the exception of the Power Antenna which is sometimes finicky about going down (it does function correctly 95% of the time). This car has always been garaged, covered, and never slept outdoors since new. I have the clean/clear title in my hand and ready for transfer. I am providing a phone number where I can be reached and if your call is missed it will be returned if you leave a short message. NO emails (except through eBay) or texts can be answered so don't waste your time. Call David @ 931.639.3926 before 9pm for more information or specific questions about the Thunderbird.

Ford Q3 pretax profits drop to $1.18B
Fri, 24 Oct 2014Following positive third quarter financial results recently from General Motors, rival Ford took a tumble in Q3. The automaker posted pre-tax profits of $1.18 billion, compared to about $2.59 billion in Q3 2013, a drop of around 54 percent. Net income also suffered with $835 million made in the quarter, versus $1.272 billion last year, a decline of about 34 percent. The Blue Oval blamed the gloomy figures on three reasons in its release: "lower volume, higher warranty costs and adverse balance sheet exchange effects."
There were problems of one kind or another in practically every region. North America experienced higher warranty costs than expected, partially due to recalls. The sales volume for the quarter was 665,000 units, versus 725,000 in Q3 2013, and pre-tax results amounted to $1.41 billion versus $2.296 billion last year.
South America and Europe both posted worse pre-tax results than last year. On the bright side, European volume was up slightly to 321,000 vehicles, from 303,000 in Q3 2013. The Middle East and Africa also lost $15 million, but that was an improvement compared to the $25 million loss previously experienced in this region.
Ford to build next F-150, outgoing model concurrently?
Wed, 24 Jul 2013Ford is rumored to be considering concurrent production for old and new F-150 models in a bid to minimize supply chain disruptions and inventory. Automotive News is reporting that the Blue Oval will build both the current F-150 and its replacement, which we showed you testing just last month, side by side for about half a year before switching over entirely to next-generation production.
As IHS Automotive analyst Mike Jackson told AN, "In order to ramp up, you have to retool...and that means you have to take capacity offline." Building both models alongside could allow Ford to cope with the still strong demand for the current F-150, while populating dealer supplies and working out supply chain kinks for the new model before making a full-time switch.
A loss of capacity when demand is so strong, even for a short period, could spell bad news for Ford, which nets an estimated 90 percent of its global profit on pickups and large SUVs. As AN states, Ford produces the F-150 in both Kansas City, Missouri and Dearborn, Michigan, which allows it to maintain some degree of flexibility in production. The new F-150 is expected to arrive at the 2014 North American International Auto Show as a 2015 model, with a design inspired by the Atlas Concept first shown at the Detroit Auto Show last January.
Mark LaNeve named head of Ford US sales and marketing
Thu, Jan 8 2015Ford continues to rework the positions of its top marketing executives as Jim Farley moves to take over the Blue Oval in Europe and Stephen Odell becomes head of global sales. The latest shift brings Mark LaNeve in as the new vice president of US marketing, sales, service and dealer relations, effective February 1. LaNeve replaces John Felice, who is retiring. Felice was with the automaker for the last 30 years and held his most recent job since November of 2013. In addition to coordinating marketing and sales, LaNeve's other duty is to build "innovative new digital communications and transforming the retail experience for customers," according to the automaker's press release announcing the change. He reports to both Odell and Joe Hinrichs, Ford's boss of the Americas. LaNeve has a long history in the auto industry. He spent a portion of his early career with Cadillac but eventually was hired as the CEO of Volvo Cars North America. He also headed up US marketing at General Motors for several years in the 2000s. Since 2012, LaNeve has been the chief operating officer at Global Ford Team, which is responsible for the company's worldwide advertising. There's an interesting challenge ahead of LaNeve in leading the Blue Oval's US marketing and sales in 2015. Ford was the bestselling auto brand here in 2014 but overall sales fell about 1.1 percent. According to Automotive News, the company's market share dropped to 14.9 percent, a one-percent reduction and the lowest level since 2008. Read below for the automaker's official announcement of LaNeve's new job.
