You are bidding on an exceptional survivor 1990 Thunderbird Super Coupe SC in excellent original condition with under 46000 original miles.  This T-bird SC comes with the rare and desirable 35th Anniversary package that includes the special black paint, argent lower, pinstripes, special anniversary hood and fender badges, blacked out wheels, and leather interior with grey suede inserts.  Only change from original is the addition of an aftermarket Kenwood AM/FM CD/MP3 player.  Clean accident free car fax that shows me as the second registered owner.  I bought the car after the original owner of over 22 years donated the car to charity and sold it at auction.  This car shows it was well cared for and I continue to keep it garaged.  Original paint shows some wear from driving in minor paint nicks at the front, and the front air dam.  Driver's side outside bolster has wear from rubbing it getting in and out of the car.  Windshield has one small ding but no cracks.  AC could stand a recharge and one of the back lights behind the left side of the instrument cluster needs replacing.  Flat black paint at the top of some areas of the rubber trim show the base yellow underneath and would need to be touched up with some trim black paint to look perfect but show the honest age of the car as is. This is a rust free straight beautiful car that I'm picking on because I'm very particular. It wouldn't take much, though, to make it look mint.  I'm just trying to keep it original at this point and let the future owner decide what they want to restore or not.  I'm selling this classic car to help pay for a new home heating system.  If you're looking for a beautiful classic super coupe that is sure to go up in value, this is your car.  Please ask any questions you have before bidding and feel free to contact me to arrange viewing or a pre-buy inspection.  All sales final.  $1000 down due within 48 hours of auction close to my PayPal account.  Final payment due within 7 days by cash in person or wire transfer to my bank account.  I reserve the right to end the auction early as the car is for sale locally.  Good luck bidding!!

Ford moving medium-duty F-Series production from Mexico to Ohio

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

A few more Ford trucks will be built in the US in the near future with news that production of the F-650 and F-750 medium-duty trucks will move from Mexico to Ford's Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake, OH. Ford hasn't confirmed a precise timeline for the move, but The Detroit News claims the Blue Oval will make the shift later this year or in early 2015.
As Ford spokesperson Mike Levine reminded us, back in 2011, Ford announced in an investor release that it would shift production "after the [Ohio] plant stops current production of the Ford E-Series vans." According to that release, the Ohio factory will also receive $128 million in upgrades to build the new trucks, plus the F53 motorhome chassis and F59 commercial chassis.

VW going turbo-only in 3 to 4 years

Wed, 18 Sep 2013

This really was a matter of when, rather than if. Volkswagen will apparently be the first manufacturer to phase out naturally aspirated engines in favor of turbocharging its full slate. VW is kind of responsible for ushering in this push towards small-displacement, turbocharged engines that's taken the industry by storm. When it dropped its direct-injection, 2.0-liter turbo in the 2005 GTI it demonstrated that strapping an iron long to an engine can enhance the powertrain as a whole. VW made fuel economy gains, while also giving a linear, non-laggy turbo experience that it has replicated, model-after-model, to this day.
Speaking with The Detroit News, Volkswagen's executive Vice President of Group Quality, Marc Trahan, told the paper that, "We only have one normally aspirated gas engine, and when we go to the next generation vehicle that it's in, it will be replaced. So three, four years maximum."
Really, it's hard to get teary-eyed about either of these engines going away. VW has access to smaller powerplants that could easily match the performance of the 2.5 five-cylinder and the 3.6 V6, while gobbling up less fuel and providing a better driving experience. What we are sad about is that a similar statement about the extinction of NA engines came from the Vice President of Powertrain Engineering at Ford, Joe Bakaj. We'd certainly get teary-eyed over a world without Ford's excellent 5.0-liter V8.

Ford Mustang GT350 drops some camo

Mon, 03 Feb 2014

Now that we've poured over the 2015 Ford Mustang in its standard form, it's time to look ahead. We already knew (and heard - literally) that Ford was working on a higher-performance version of its 'Stang to replace the Shelby GT500, and earlier reports have stated that it will simply be called the GT350.
We don't have a ton of detail to go on, but this latest set of spy photos clearly shows a hood-mounted air scoop, which suggests a forced-induction powerplant is under the hood. However, this disagrees with earlier reports that the GT350 will be all motor, using a naturally aspirated engine to send massive horsepower to the rear wheels. Our spies also point out the functional vent aft of the front wheels to allow for better airflow, and the massive quad exhaust pipes can be seen, clear as day.
Expect to see the Mustang GT350 in April, when it debuts at the New York Auto Show in conjunction with the Pony's 50th anniversary. In the meantime, have a look at our gallery above to see the latest shots of the hot Mustang out testing.
