1988 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe 2.3L Turbo Automatic transmission 155,000 miles ON BODY

Car is in good shape has a lot of new parts! The car was painted by the previous owner but has one spot that is flaking off alittle. I have had the car for a couple years now and it was my daily driver until I got a new car and I had to put an engine in the car due to blowing the head gasket on the original motor. I hate to get rid of it but we need the space in the driveway. Car features power locks, power drivers seat, power windows, power mirrors, fuel selector switch, factory fog lamps, 4 wheel disc brakes with ABS, cold A/C and heats works GREAT(automatic adjusting climate control), interior is in great shape, etc. This car has alot of power and is very fun to drive! NEW PARTS INCLUDE: It has a new fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, alternator, Motorcraft plugs, wires, cap, rotor, performance rear tubular upper control arms, fairly new tires, MSD coil, rebuilt turbo and manifold, 3 inch downpipe with dual exhaust, dash mat, Optima battery, strut conversion to non-electronic and new rear shocks. Just put a used motor in it that was out of a 90,000 mile car but the engine had been replaced with a reman so it has less than 90k on it. Transmission was rebuilt about 10,000 miles ago with a new torque converter. The car runs good but intermittently hesitates and unfortunately I don't have time to look into it. I think it may possibly be either a vacuum leak or the pickup in the distributor..... I crank it up and drive it around the neighborhood periodically but like I mentioned I am on the road 5 days a week so I just don't have the time to work on the car like I wish I did. This is a nice car that just needs a little TLC! When I drove it daily before I put the new engine in it was getting 25-27 MPG!!! I have around $4000 invested in the car so my loss is your gain. Please feel free to message me with any questions and happy bidding! Car is located in Tega Cay, SC just 10 mintues from Charlotte, NC...would not recommend trying to drive it home. Car is AS-IS and needs to be picked up within 7 days of auction ending. I WILL ADD INTERIOR PICTURES TOMORROW!

Detroit 3 to implement delayed unified towing standards for 2015

Tue, Feb 11 2014

Car buyers have a responsibility to be well-informed consumers. That's not always a very simple task, but some guidelines are self-evident. If you live in a very snowy climate, you generally know a Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro might not be as viable a vehicle choice as an all-wheel drive Explorer or Traverse, for example. If you want a fuel-efficient car, it's generally a good idea to know the difference between a diesel and a hybrid. But what if it's kind of tough to be an informed consumer? What if the information you need is more difficult to come by, or worse, based on different standards for each vehicle? Well, in that case, you might be a truck shopper. For years, customers of light-duty pickups have had to suffer through different ratings of towing capacities for each brand. For 2015 model year trucks, though, that will no longer be a problem. According to Automotive News, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler Group have announced that starting with next year's models, a common standard will be used to measure towing capacity. The Detroit Three will join Toyota, which adopted the Society of Automotive Engineers' so-called SAE J2807 standards way back in 2011. The standard was originally supposed to be in place for MY2013, but concerns that it would lower the overall stated capacity for trucks led Detroit automakers to pass. Ford originally passed, claiming it'd wait until its new F-150 was launched to adopt the new standards, leading GM and Ram to follow suit. Nissan, meanwhile, has said it will adopt the new standards as its vehicles are updated, meaning the company's next-generation Titan should adhere to the same tow ratings as its competitors. While the adoption of SAE J2807 will be helpful for light-duty customers, those interested in bigger trucks will still be left with differing standards. There is no sign of the new tow standards being adopted for the heavy-duty market.

2014 Ford Transit Connect Taxi hopes to fare thee well

Mon, 23 Sep 2013

New York City may have selected its taxi of tomorrow, but there are still plenty of municipalities across the US with citizens that depend on yellow livery cars to get them across town in a jiffy. That's why Ford is going ahead with this, the new Transit Connect Taxi.
Based on the 2014 Transit Connect, the TC Taxi boasts a number of features designed to make the compact van appeal to discerning taxi drivers and their fares, with the most notable upgrade being a standardized prep package to convert the 2.5-liter four to run on liquefied petroleum or compressed natural gas. The clean-burning fuel options will allow operators to save on fuel costs and cut down on pollution without sacrificing performance.
A lower load floor and a new twist-beam rear suspension are meant to improve the riding experience for passengers, while the longer 2014 Transit Connect sports extra cargo space as well. In addition to the CNG/LPG conversion, the Transit Connect Taxi can also be easily modified for wheelchair access. Drivers, meanwhile, will have access to optional goodies like Sync with MyFord Touch and a rear-view camera.

Ford bringing 10 custom Transit Connects to SEMA

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

With 57 vehicles planned for its SEMA display, it comes as little surprise that Ford has plenty of teasers for its show cars. After showing us what it has in store for the Mustang, Fiesta and Focus ST, now we're getting a look at some of the custom creations based on the redesigned 2014 Transit Connect van.
These nine Transit Connects are decked out to various degrees of customization, but our favorite might be the chopped and lowered Transit Connect from Mob Steel (shown above), which has a similar slammed stance that we see on some custom VW Buses. On the opposite extreme, LGE & CTS Motorsports has jacked up a Transit Connect to make a Cross Country cruiser that we wouldn't mind taking on a road trip.
There are seven other teasers from various companies, and you can check them all out in the gallery above or in the press release below. Ford is also promising a tenth Transit Connect for SEMA, so stay tuned for that as well.
