You are looking at an EXTREMELY clean 1988 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. This is the last year of this body style and the last year of the turbo. In 1989 they changed the whole design and swapped the turbo charger for a supercharger...Hence the t-bird Super coupe!  I have had this car for almost 4 years and love it to death. I listed this car for sale last summer but i decided to keep it.. Now my circumstances have changed and i have lost my garage space. It's been outside for almost a month and it's killing me. I'd rather sell to someone who appreciates this car like i do than to run outside and wipe the bird shit off of it every two hours.

EXTERIOR:

SUPER CLEAN LAZER STRAIGHT BODY WITH MIRROR FINNISH BLACK PAINT. NOT A DENT, DING OR SCRATCH .....THERE IS SLIGHT SUN FADING ON THE ROOF CLOSE TO THE REAR WINDOW BUT THE CAR IS SO SHINY IT'S HARD TO NOTICE. THE RED PINSTRIPE ON THE CAR IS BRIGHT AND STANDS OUT.  I HAVE 17" BLACK POWDER COATED MUSTANG COBRA R RIMS WITH A CHROME LIP AND RED CALIPER COVERS TO ACCENT THE RD PINSTRIPE AND IT LOOKS REAL NICE. THE TIRES HAVE ABOUT 60 % TREAD ON THEM. I ALSO HAVE A 3 QUARTER BRA ON THE FRONT TO HIDE SOME OF THE ROAD CHIPS ON THE NOSE AND 1980'S STYLE G.T.S. TINTED HEAD LIGHT COVERS TO MACH THE TINTED WINDOWS. FINALLY I HAVE 2" CHROME TAILPIPE TIPS THAT EXTEND JUST PAST THE REAR BUMPER WHICH ALSO LOOKS A LIL MEAN!

INTERIOR:
DON'T ASK ME WHY FORD WOULD PUT A BLUE AND GREY TWO TONE INTERIOR WITH A BLACK AND RED EXTERIOR BUT THEY DID. THE INTERIOR IS SUPER NICE WITH TWO SMALL FLAWS. THE DASH IS CRACKED WICH I HAVE HID WITH A CUSTOM MADE DASH COVER AND A CIGARETTE BURN ON THE HEAD LINER FROM THE PREVIOUS KNUCKLEHEAD OWNER. AFTERMARKET RADIO AND CD PLAYER LOOKS AND SOUNDS NICE.

ENGINE:
ANYONE WHO KNOW'S THIS CAR, KNOWS THE MOTOR. THE 2.3 LITER TURBO IS THE SAME MOTOR THAT FORD PUT IN THE S.V.O. MUSTANG AND RUNS AWSOME. TURNS OVER EVERY TIME ,THIS CAR RUNS LIKE A TOP AND SHIFTS PERFECT! THE TURBO SPOOLS UP AND THE CAR TAKES OFF LIKE A ROCKET.....ANYONE WHO KNOWS THIS MOTOR ALSO KNOWS THAT THE TURBO ONLY ENGAGES WHEN YOU WANT IT TO AND IN 1987 THEY INTRODUCED THE INTERCOOLER WHICH MAKES A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE FROM THE PREVIOUS MODLES. (YOU CAN GO THOUGH EVERY GEAR AND USE THE TURBO OR EVERY GEAR AND NOT USE IT) THE SUPERCHARGER (1989) WORKS ALL THE TIME WICH LEADS TO MORE FREQUENT FAILURE. I HAVE OVER $3,000.00 IN RECEIPTS FOR THE WORK I HAVE DONE.

NEW:
HEATER CORE, EVAPORATOR CORE AND ALL NEW A.C. LINES. EVERY SENSOR AND T-STAT WAS REPLACED ALONG WITH NEW DASH CLUSTER. BRAND NEW STOCK STAINLESS STEEL EXHAUST FROM THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD BACK, PLUGS, WIRES, HOSES, BELTS , RADIATOR , TIMING BELT, NEW HEADS, INTAKE ,BLOCK AND HEAD GASKET.

THE SLIGHTLY BAD:

THE DOOR LOCK ON THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR DON'T WORK (ACTUATOR)?  THERE IS A 3 INCH CRACK IN THE WINDSHIELD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THERE ARE CRACKS IN THE DASH AND A CIGARETTE BURN IN THE HEADLINER. THE ROOF HAS SLIGHT SUN FADING TOWARDS THE REAR WINDOW..  DESPITE THESE THINGS THIS CAR GETS A HUGE AMOUNT OF ATTENTION  AND GETS A TROPHY FROM EVERY CAR SHOW AND CRUISE NITE I BROUGHT HER TO. ( PROB. BECAUSE IM ALWAYS THE ONLY TURBO COUPE AT THE SHOWS) HA!
FOR THE SUPER SERIOUS, I WILL GO OUT AND TAKE ANY ADDITIONAL PICTURES YOU REQUEST. WHY SPEND 10 OR 20 GRAND ON A CLASSIC WHEN YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO GET A NICE CLASSIC T-BIRD FOR A VERY REASONABLE PRICE. OR GET THE CLASSIC INSURANCE FOR 150$ A YEAR AND USE IT AS A DAILY DRIVER. ANYONE IN THE AREA IS ENCOURAGED TO COME TAKE A LOOK AND I WILL HELP IN ANY WAY TO SHIP. WILL DELIVER WITHIN A 50 MILE RADIUS FOR GAS AND TOLL REIMBURSEMENT.

*****PLEASE NOTE ****** I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS AUCTION EARLY IF I SELL THE CAR LOCALLY OR IF I GAIN STORAGE BACK.  CONTACT ME ANYTIME WITH OFFERS. REALLY NOT INTERESTED IN ANY TRADES.  THANKS AND HAPPY BIDDING.

2015 Ford Transit

Wed, 11 Jun 2014

As a segment, fullsize vans are stealth-fighter invisible on most consumers' radar. Visit a dealership for any of the four brands that offer them and you'll be lucky to find even one on display. These are commercial vehicles primarily, even more so than pickup trucks. Vans are the shuttles for plumbers, caterers, carpenters, concrete layers, masons, electricians, florists and flooring, and a huge part of this country's productivity is accomplished using them. At the moment, Ford is the 800-pound gorilla in that room - fully 41 percent of commercial vehicles wear a Blue Oval. So when Ford announced three years ago it would be ditching its commercial bread-and-butter E-Series, it meant the Transit that would be replacing the Econoline had huge, 53-year-old shoes to fill.
We were still a bit nostalgic about Econoline vans going away until going directly from the Transit first drive in Kansas City to an E-350 airport shuttle. Climb up through the Econoline's tiny double doors and bang your head on the opening, crouch all the way to your seat then enjoy a loud, rattle-prone, creaky, harsh ride on beam-hard seats while struggling to see out the low windows. This is an experience nearly every traveler has had. By comparison, the Transits we'd just spent two days with were every bit of the four decades better they needed to be. It cannot be understated just how much better the Transit is in every single way. The load floor is barely more than knee high. There's a huge side door, and hitting your head on a door opening is nearly impossible. Stand up all the way if you're under six-foot, six-inches - no more half-hunching down the aisle. There are windows actually designed to be looked out of. The ride is buttery smooth, no booming vibration from un-restrained metal panels and no squeaks. Conversations can be held at normal levels rather than yelling over the roar of an ancient V8. The seats are comfortable. The AC is cold. There are cupholders.
Enough anecdote-laying, what's in a Transit? We're talking about a very fullsized unibody van that's enjoyed a 49-year history in Ye Olde Europe. This latest iteration is part of the "One Ford" initiative, so it was designed as a global offering from the get-go, eschewing the body-on-frame construction the E-Series has used since 1975. Instead, the Transit integrates a rigid ladder frame into an overall frame construction made of high-strength cold-rolled and boron steel. The suspension is a simple but well-tuned Macpherson strut array up front with a rear solid axle and leaf springs.

Lincoln 'not true luxury' yet, says Ford design chief

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

Lincoln is "not true luxury," according to Ford's design boss, J Mays. His statements come from a story in The Detroit News that saw candid language on the issues facing Ford's troubled premium brand. Notably, there's a need for a strong character, with Mays saying, "Every brand needs to have a DNA and a unique selling point and things in the vehicle that make you think, 'That's that particular brand.'"
With a range of rebadged Fords, it's not hard to see why that DNA is missing. Mays hinted that a full recovery for Lincoln will be a ten-year process, that's been kicked off with the MKZ sedan. While that car is still largely a Ford Fusion under its extremely pretty wrapper, it's the first Lincoln in some time to inject its own unique take both through the exterior styling and through interior features, such as the vertical, pushbutton gear selection.
Some analysts weren't so certain about Mays' 10-year estimate. Jim Hall of 2953 Analytics thinks it'll be more like 30 years before Lincoln can show a true return to form. The issue, as Hall explains it, is that, "luxury has a degree of exclusivity," that Lincoln just doesn't have. Michelle Krebs from Edmunds adds, "it's definitely a wanna-be luxury brand," comparing the troubled American brand with Infiniti and Acura, two other brands that have struggled to find their place in the luxury market.

Ford bringing 10 custom Transit Connects to SEMA

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

With 57 vehicles planned for its SEMA display, it comes as little surprise that Ford has plenty of teasers for its show cars. After showing us what it has in store for the Mustang, Fiesta and Focus ST, now we're getting a look at some of the custom creations based on the redesigned 2014 Transit Connect van.
These nine Transit Connects are decked out to various degrees of customization, but our favorite might be the chopped and lowered Transit Connect from Mob Steel (shown above), which has a similar slammed stance that we see on some custom VW Buses. On the opposite extreme, LGE & CTS Motorsports has jacked up a Transit Connect to make a Cross Country cruiser that we wouldn't mind taking on a road trip.
There are seven other teasers from various companies, and you can check them all out in the gallery above or in the press release below. Ford is also promising a tenth Transit Connect for SEMA, so stay tuned for that as well.
