1986 Ford Thunderbird Base Sedan 2-door 5.0l on 2040-cars

I've decided to sell my 1986 Ford Thunderbird Base model that only has 85,720 Actual Miles!! I bought this car last year as a back up vehicle but no longer need it since I purchased another car. Comes equipped with an EFI 5.0 that runs great! Power windows; power locks (not working-needs Actuators?); power both seats; power antenna; cruise; tilt; cold a/c; hot heat; keyless entry...manual sunroof that was installed by previous owner (does NOT leak). Has been painted a few years ago by a previous owner, does have a few chips and scratches but shows/shines well! Absolutely NO rust! Non smokers! The covers were put on the front seats only to protect them...driver seat has a couple small tears right next to where your left leg would rest, probably from sliding in and out of the car. The passenger seat is in excellent condition. The stock stereo does work but the left front chanel goes in and out sometimes. The headliner around the sunroof has tears in it from probably being pulled too tight when it was installed??? Please keep in mind that this Bird IS 28+ years old and does have a few "Bumps and Bruises"...I try to explain any/all problems the best way I know how. If you have ANY questions, please ask before placing bid. The fuel gauge and temp gauge do not work, I think it may be the voltage regulator in the instrument cluster, but not sure. I just fill it up when the Tripometer reaches 300 or so miles...it has the 22 gallon tank! Previous owner removed the cats and ran a true dual exhaust which sounds pretty good. It does shift kinda hard from 3rd to 4th...has been like this since I bought it from the previous owner. I did do a pan drop on the transmission, change the filter and fluid about 800 miles ago. The Dashboard has cracks from aging outdoors...The tires have around 80% tread left, and the brakes stop this Bird with NO pulling. It could use a front end alignment, the steering wheel is not quite centered and it pulls just a little to the right, but there is no uneven wear on the front tires.  Like I said before, this T-Bird runs great and could easily be used as a daily driver.

Facelifted Ford Focus caught testing in the cold

Wed, 18 Dec 2013

It's that time in the life of the Ford Focus to get a little work done - a nip-tuck here, some Botox there. Yes, Ford is testing a facelifted version of its global C-segment entry, which first hit markets in Europe and North America in May 2011.
Like the touchup on the Fiesta, expect Ford's gaping grille to make its first appearance on the Focus. Our spy photographers point out that this is likely to be a more comprehensive makeover than previous spy shots suggested, based on the additional camouflage seen here on the front and rear ends of this five-door model. New head and taillights are also likely in order, as are changes to the front and rear fascia.
The interior was also snapped and features a cleaner design with a larger central display. Other than that, it looks like some buttons have been changed, making us think most of the Focus' updates are limited to the exterior.

This woman owns the first Ford Mustang sold in the US

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

As Ford celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Mustang with the unveiling of the all-new sixth-gen design, one Chicago women can lay claim to a piece of Mustang history. According to CBS Chicago, Gail Wise was the first person in the US to buy a Mustang in 1964, and she did so two days before the car was even unveiled to the public.
Wise, then a 22-year-old teacher, went into the Chicago Ford dealership wanting to buy a convertible, and a salesperson ushered her over to car covered by a tarp. That car was a baby blue Mustang convertible, which she still owns today - along with the documentation. After sitting for almost 30 years and undergoing a full restoration, the car now looks to be in original condition. The report says that this $3,400 purchase could be worth anywhere between $100,000 and $250,000. While this worked out well for Mrs. Wise, we wouldn't recommend anyone going into a dark, back room of a dealership hoping to get a jump on the purchase of a 2015 Mustang.

2015 Ford Mustang prototype spotted on the street

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

Our trusty spy photographers have snapped the first photos of the 2015 Ford Mustang prototype out on public streets. With nearly every square inch of the machine covered in heavy camouflage, it's difficult to discern details, but we can see smallish horizontal headlamps at work in the coupe's nose. Ford has made it clear that modern lighting technology will allow the company to get away from large, expensive headlamp arrays in the near future, and the 2015 Mustang may very well be the first of the automaker's products to bow with the new tech. The philosophy was first displayed on the very attractive Evos Concept.
The extensive cladding doesn't extend all the way to the prototype's rockers in the instance, giving us a look at the heavily-sculpted sills. Overall, this test car looks considerably smaller than the current generation Mustang, and elements like a short front overhang and beefy dual-piston calipers give us plenty of hope for the future model. Of course, reports that the 2015 Mustang will bow with an independent rear suspension and EcoBoost power certainly don't hurt our feelings, either.
