1966 Ford Thunderbird "q Code" 428 With Fact Air,orig.paint,orig.int,arizona Car on 2040-cars
Phoenix, Arizona, United States
Here we have a 1966 ford Thunderbird....Q code 428 with factory air, these are very rare cars considering they only made 600 of these "Q" codes in 1966. This car also has the rare headrest passenger seat that is manual and the drivers seat is power. Power locks with manual windows...go figure!! Of course it has the slide away steering wheel and the sequential turn signals. The car has been upgraded with a newer A/C compressor. This car has the original paint and interior....car looks unbelievable for it's age, has a few chips that have been touched up by the previous owner, this car shows very well for an original car!! This is an Arizona rust free car, floors and trunk are as solid as could be, no patch panels or any of that crap....A TRUE survivor. I bought this car from a retiree in Sun City Arizona....car has a couple of dings and dents...VERY MINOR. Car has an oil leak...nothing major, but needs to be mentioned. All of the lights work correctly including the sequential tail lights...Odometer is the Mercury style an has quit working since I've owned it, car shows 70,000 + miles, I believe that is accurate for the shape that this car is in, but the title indicates not accurate. The old man I bought this car from told me...they are the original miles. This really is a nice car and runs and drives good....please call 602-930-2620 for more questions or to set up a time for an inspection.

Ford readying Ranger-based Everest SUV?
Fri, 21 Feb 2014Way back in August, we showed you a Ford concept for the Australian market called the Everest. Now, we can show you that work on the new Ranger-based SUV is well under way.
At this stage, it's still quite clearly a mule (note the misalignment of the front and rear doors), wearing the Ranger's front end and the rump of Ford's overseas Territory crossover. The wheelbase is shorter than a Ranger, according to our spy photographers, which strikes us as somewhat odd for a more passenger-oriented vehicle. Disc brakes should be fitted at all four corners, while the new SUV, which will almost certainly wear the Everest name, should sport a new rear suspension.
In terms of looks, we're expecting the Everest Concept to inform the appearance of the production model. Naturally, there will also be some interior tweaks, particularly around the dashboard, which is covered in these photos.
White House clears way for NHTSA to mandate vehicle black boxes
Fri, 07 Dec 2012At present, over 90 percent of all new vehicles sold in the United States today are equipped with event data recorders, more commonly known as black boxes. If the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gets its way, that already high figure will swell to a full 100 percent in short order.
Such automotive black boxes have been in existence since the 1990s, and all current Ford, General Motors, Mazda and Toyota vehicles are so equipped. NHTSA has been attempting to make these data recorders mandatory for automakers, and according to The Detroit News, the White House Office of Management Budget has just finished reviewing the proposal, clearing the way. Now NHTSA is expected to draft new legislation to make the boxes a requirement.
One problem with current black boxes is that there's no set of standards for automakers to follow when creating what bits of data are recorded, and for how long or in what format it is stored. In other words, one automaker's box is probably not compatible with its competitors.
