1965 Ford Thunderbird Base Convertible 2-door 6.4l on 2040-cars
Lynbrook, New York, United States
You are bidding on a 1965 Ford Thunderbird convertible in medium turquoise blue. It is a re paint by one of the previous owners, but has held up well over the years. Originally a Florida car, it has made its way up the coast to Pennsylvania and is now registered in New York as Historic. The roof top canvas shows some wear and tear and will have to be replaced, but the hydraulics and roof motor are in great operating condition. The power antenna doesn't work, but it has the original am/fm radio, power windows, power locks, and driver seat also fully function. It also comes with the sway away column and sequential turn signals. I am listing this for a co worker so please contact me thru ebay messaging or directly at one word- everyday is a gift -at the google email service and Ill get you the necessary information for those truly interested. Car was only driven during the summer months and spent the rest of the time inside a warehouse under a car cover. The only reason he is selling is that he is getting rid of his warehouse and thus the need to downsize his collection. Good Luck Bidding- |

Lincoln recycling tree fibers into new MKX armrest
Thu, Feb 27 2014Want to hug a tree, or at least a really small part of one. Then set your arm down on one of those armrests in the 2014 Lincoln MKX crossover. The US automaker is working with Weyerhaeuser and Johnson Controls on a tree-based, cellulose-reinforced polypropylene material used in the component that connects the armrest to the floor console, Wards Auto says. With properties similar to plastic, the tree-based material replaces fiberglass and is about six percent lighter. No big deal for now, but if the material starts getting used for things like battery trays and interior storage covers, that loss in weight may eventually start adding up enough to boost fuel economy a bit, providing a green double bonus. Lincoln parent Ford, which isn't saying how much more (or less?) it costs to use the new material, established its Biomaterials and Plastics Research team in 2001. In 2007, the company began using soy-based foam in car seats used for models such as the Lincoln Navigator and Ford Mustang and has since broadened biomaterials use to components like floormats and cupholder inserts. Ford also used recycled plastic bottles from the 2012 North America International Auto Show for seats in the Focus Electric.

Just last week, Saleen revealed initial details of its tuning program for the new Ford Mustang. And now Roush is following suit.
Available in three stages - based on the V6 (RS), EcoBoost (RS1) and V8 (RS2) models - the 2015 Roush Mustangs all feature the venerable Ford tuner's latest R7 aero kit complete with remodeled fascia, five-blade grille, gaping air dam with integrated driving lamps and splitter. Around back there's a one-piece deck spoiler and "race-inspired lower aero-valance."
