Great Foundation for your next Project - Classic Cruiser with super straight and clean original body.

The car is now a roller but I have the original C5AE block, crank, pistons and rods. Engine is presently unassembled and

will need rebuilding. The body only has 34,330 original miles and the condition of the body shows this. Every panel is

lazer straight and I could only find 3 areas with rust. One small area in trunk lip under rubber seal, front of trunk pan, and small

area in passenger floorpan. The rest of the body and structure are amazingly solid and original. Radiator support excellent as well

as all framerails. Radiator and shroud included - radiator may need to be repaired. Tires are brand new whitewall radials with

all 4 hubcaps in excellent condition.

The interior is possibly this car's best attribute. The stainless is in great shape, headliner nice, bucklet seats good the driver seat will need a little repair.

We spent many hours on the electrical and the following function work: Radio, Heater, power antenae, hi and low beams, window washer pump, dome lights,

courtesy lights, brake lights, sequential turn signals, power windows will work with some tinkering, dash rheostat, hi beam indicator and even the clock works!

Rebuild the included 390 short block, source the top-end of the motor (heads, intake manifold, cam ETC not included) source an MX or C6 transmission and you will have an easy winter project that will

turn many heads in the spring! I reserve the right to end the auction at any time due to the car being for sale locally. Please ask any and all questions. Very reasonable reserve. Thank you.

T - Bird is a project that will need work, assembly, some parts, and TLC before its ready for the road. Sold as is where is with no warrantly whatsoever.

Buyer must pick up vehicle within 7 days of auction close unless previously arranged.

What next for Alan Mulally?

Wed, 23 Apr 2014

Alan Mulally has emerged as a hero when it comes to American manufacturing. He came to Ford in 2006 after serving as head of Boeing's commercial aircraft division, streamlined operations, sold off the costly elements of its Premier Automotive Group and saved Ford from having to be bailed out by the federal government like its cross-town rivals Chrysler and General Motors did. But as we reported mere days ago, he's widely expected to step down from the chief executive's office at Ford shortly.
So what's next for one of the most successful executives in the business? Hard to say, but don't expect Mulally to disappear into retirement. Though he didn't ultimately take the top job at Microsoft, industry insiders expect to see him in another influential position - likely as a board director or even chairman of another company. (We say "another company" and not Ford because while Bill Ford may have stepped aside as CEO to bring Mulally on board in the first place, we don't see him giving up his chairmanship of the board also.)
Mulally has likely already lined up his next move, and could either announce what that move will be as soon as Ford confirms Mark Fields as his successor, or could wait awhile. Insiders speculate that he could leverage his transportation and aerospace experience into a position at General Electric or a major airline, his manufacturing expertise to benefit a company like Procter & Gamble or his management skills at a consultancy firm.

Toyota fears supplier pressure in Australia with GM pull out

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

With Ford and General Motors both announcing an end to production in Australia, the country's auto industry is in a bad way. With the exit of two big players, there's increased concern that a third Australian manufacturer, Toyota, will be forced out, as well.
"We are saddened to learn of GM Holden's decision. This will place unprecedented pressure on the local supplier network and our ability to build cars in Australia," Toyota Australia said in a statement. The GM closure of Holden production will be the direct end to 2,900 jobs, but will also force a dramatic reduction in the size of the country's supplier network, as there will simply be fewer cars to build.
In the same statement, Toyota Australia said it would work with suppliers and local government to figure out whether continuing production Down Under was even feasible. According to Automotive News, a representative for the Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union told reporters it was "highly likely" that Toyota would also close up shop within the next few years.

Ken Block proves the new Ford Focus RS can handle that Gymkhana thing

Wed, Feb 4 2015

Oh Ford, you've already done a lot for us today, introducing the bound-for-America Focus RS and all. But then you go ahead and add onto this day of good news by handing a prototype of the new all-wheel-drive rocket to drift maestro Ken Block and capture it all on video. Block does his usual, slipping and sliding and drifting the over-315-horsepower hot hatchback through Ford's Cologne, Germany factory, before making a final and surprising appearance at the unveiling of the new RS to European media. It's all as entertaining as it sounds, and gives us plenty of chances to hear the 2.3-liter EcoBoost at full bellow. Related Video:
