CONTACT JEFF AT 570 977 0741.  Up for sale and your consideration is a 1964 Ford Thunderbird Landau that was recently awakened after a 9 year rest in a local resident's garage. This was a one family car since new. It is a true survivor. If you're looking for a rust free California car or a frame off restored car then you can stop reading the ad. This is a typical northeast car with a few rust issues although it was always a garage kept car. It has great potential for restoration, but can be enjoyed as-is since it runs, drives and stops well. The decision was made to keep the car as found because it is 100% original and unmolested and unaltered. One of the current trends is to leave a survivor car as found and enjoy it as-is with the exception of insuring it is mechanically reliable. After the car was removed from storage it received fresh gas, new gas filter, new points, new spark plugs, new oil pan gasket, two new brake lines, new brake master cylinder, and fresh oil and oil filter. After replacement of these items it was driven a couple of times to insure that it shifted, drove, and stopped well which it does. As you can see in some of the photos, the body will need some attention if the buyer is looking to improve the appearance. Please remember that you are looking at a 49 year old unrestored car. The vinyl top and interior are in amazing shape for their age. The interior is the deluxe Landau version with wood grain accents and optional wood-look steering wheel that swings away to the side in park for ease in vehicle entry and exit. The color combo is a desirable triple black. The headlights, parking lights, back-up lights, stop lights, turn signals, front fender turn signal indicators, AM radio, heater and defroster, wipers and horn are all in fine working order. Front power windows work fine but rear power windows do not work. Gas gauge does not work. All the glass is good. Under the hood is the original 390 cubic inch, 300 horsepower engine.  It is 100% original and runs smooth and quiet. This car is priced so it will be affordable to even a working class person who wants to own and enjoy a desirable vehicle without spending a fortune. The price is in accordance with the condition. Mileage on the car shows 46073. The mileage on the title is listed as exempt as many older cars were since they did not have a sixth digit on the odometer. Please take the time to look at the photos. I even had the car put up on a lift to show the undercarriage. I have more photos of the car should any prospective buyer want them. Just call and ask for them. If any prospective buyer has any questions as to the integrity of the car, I welcome the opportunity to show the car in person by appointment only.

Please check my 100% positive feedback and buy with confidence.  Feel free to ask any and all questions about the car. I have accurately and honestly described this car to the best of my knowledge based on a complete physical inspection and servicing of the car. I am an honest ebayer looking to complete an honest sale here. Accepted forms of payment are as follows. An Ebay required non refundable $300.00 deposit will be required by the winning bidder using either the buy it now option or winning bidder at the end of the auction.  The most preferred and encouraged method of completing the sale will be funds in hand and a local pickup of the car. If a buyer requests shipping it will be their financial responsibility. I will be happy to recommend previously used shippers.  I will also be happy to reasonably assist in the appointment set-up, pick-up and loading of the car. Again please keep in mind this is a 49 year old unrestored car. This car is sold in AS-IS condition with no actual or implied warranty or guarantee. My contact phone number is at the top and bottom of the ad so it is there for any prospective buyer to contact me at.  Lastly please don't hesitate to CONTACT JEFF AT 570 977 0741.  Thanks and good luck !

Amelia Island 2013: 50 years of the Ferrari-slaying Ford GT40

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

Originally developed with the sole purpose of being a Ferrari rival to compete at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Ford GT40 became a prominent racing machine in the 1960s in both Europe and the US. Not wanting to leave such an important car out of the fun, the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance also took time out from its other celebrations to recognize the 50-year anniversary of the GT40.
Over its short lifespan, the GT40 was offered in a handful of configurations, but the classic short-tailed (Mk I and Mk II) bodystyles were well represented... especially in Gulf livery. James Glickenhaus (of Ferrari P4/5 fame) had his bright yellow Mk IV in the field, and there were several others in this bodystyle, including one that has seen plenty of time on the track judging by its chipped-up nose.
As a fitting statement for the car's lengthy racing history, GT40 Chassis Number 1075 won this year's Concours de Sport award. This car took home the checkered flag at Le Mans in 1968 and 1969, and racked up a total of six wins in just 11 races.

Weekly Recap: Toyota propels hydrogen fuel cells

Sat, Jan 10 2015

Toyota is serious about hydrogen fuel cells, and it wants the auto industry to follow suit. The Japanese automaker said this week it's releasing 5,680 fuel cell patents from around the world, including technologies used on its upcoming sedan, the 2016 Mirai. The move is unusual, but not unprecedented, as Tesla similarly released its electric vehicle patents last year. The idea for Tesla, and now for Toyota, is to spur development of alternative propulsion. "By eliminating traditional corporate boundaries, we can speed the development of new technologies and move into the future of mobility more quickly, effectively and economically," said Bob Carter, Toyota Motor Sales senior vice president of automotive operations, in a statement. Toyota's fuel cell patents will be free to use through 2020, though patents related to producing and selling hydrogen will remain open forever. Toyota said it would like companies that use its patents to share their own hydrogen patents, but won't require it. "What Toyota's doing is really a logical move, and really a good move for the industry," Devin Lindsay, principal powertrain analyst with IHS Automotive, told Autoblog. The announcement was made at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. It comes as Toyota prepares to launch the hydrogen-powered Mirai in a limited number late this year in California. The launch will be extended to the Northeastern United States next year. Toyota also has announced plans to support networks of fueling stations in each region to try to smooth consumer adoption. The Mirai has a 300-mile range on a tank of hydrogen, and it takes about five minutes to refill. Fuel cells have been receiving increased attention recently, and Audi and Volkswagen debuted hydrogen-powered cars at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Honda, another proponent of the technology, also showed its updated FCV concept in November in Japan. The company, however, has delayed its fuel cell sedan a year until 2016. Like Toyota, Honda says its hydrogen-powered car will have a range of 300 miles or more. Meanwhile, Hyundai currently offers leases for fuel-cell powered Tucsons, which have a 265-mile range, in Southern California. Despite the optimism some automakers have for fuel cells, the technology still faces barriers. A lack of filling stations has long held it back, and many consumers are not familiar with the potential benefits.

Ken Block is at it again in Gymkhana 6

Mon, 11 Nov 2013

If there's one thing we'll say about Ken Block and his latest installment in the Gymkhana family, it's that it's far more structured than previous videos, but that doesn't mean it skimps on the entertainment. Block is on a purpose-built course which was touted as "The... Ultimate... Gymkhana... Grid... Course" in last week's preview. Unlike Gymkhana 5, which took placed on closed streets in San Francisco, this course seems much more compact.
Block has an entire array of challenges to tackle in his 650-horsepower Ford Fiesta ST, and none of them look particularly easy. In fact, we'd argue that Gymkhana 6's grid course requires much more precise driving that previous titles. There are Segways, Lamborghinis and massive pieces of construction equipment that all must be dealt with.
We've got the entire 6:28 of Gymkhana madness for you down below. Scroll down for the video and then hit Comments and let us know how this installment compares to previous Block works.
