CA Car

New Engine in 2007 @86,854

Ownership change to PA @ 89,641 in Oct 2010

Runs great, Fun Drive

Car was purchased from CA owner in September 2010.  When I bought the car, the ad run stated the following” CA car… the engine rebuilt, rebuilt the transmission and had new brakes installed.  All electric system has been thoroughly worked on and is in nice working condition.”  CA owner provided receipts for work to include the engine rebuilt in 2007, steering box replaced, battery replaced, head gasket, door locks and flashers, mirror drivers side, foam added in front seats, rear leaf spring bushing, vacuum lines, window motor and switch work, sway bar link and bushing kit.  Since I have owned the car, I had work done on the top to include some switch replacement, solenoid replaced, all new hose kit and the top has worked great ever since.  It has been inspected for PA.  I had the carburetor work done to replace floats, and have done regular maintenance.   The car had 89641 on the odometer when I registered it and currently has 92,047.  It is fun to drive, a head turner, enjoyable vehicle with some charm.  It is not perfect.  The previous owner stated he had spent 15 to 20K on the car, I have spent around 5K.  The price reserve is low in hopes to find this bird a new home.

As with any car, this bird has some wear and some things that could be improved on they are as follows:

Separation of lather seat seem at back top about 1 inch. Water temperature gage and radio do not work. Kick plate on interior passenger side is missing fuse cover and cracked. Door panels show age with some cracking. Cigarette lighter missing. Driver side mirror loose. Driver side fender at top has slight bubble in paint. Passenger side right front fender has scrape type damage. Rear plastic window is fogged. Other items may exist and buyer is welcome to have vehicle inspected.  Miles listed are at time of listing and may be higher since the vehicle is driven on nice sunny days with the top down and a smile on the face!

Ken Block and friends race light in silly-beautiful Castrol commercial

Wed, 28 May 2014

How does one make fast, loud, drifting cars better? Well, you can add more fast, loud, drifting cars or you can add lasers. Either or, really. In this case, Castrol did the right thing and added both, creating a highly stylized commercial for its Edge Titanium motor oil starring South African racer Adrian Zaugg, BMW factory driver Augusto Farfus, Audi DTM and Le Mans staple Mike Rockenfeller and some bloke named Ken Block.
Their cars? No surprise, but Block is in his Ford Fiesta GRC, while Zaugg samples a Lamborghini Aventador and Farfus and Rockenfeller drive along party lines, with a BMW M4 and an Audi R8, respectively. And those cars look good, too, thanks to the creative light and laser work on display.
Take a look below for the video from Castrol.

Ford F-150 Tremor to pace NASCAR Truck Series this weekend

Wed, 14 Aug 2013

Ford's bro-tastic F-150 Tremor will be pacing this weekend's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Michigan International Speedway. The Tremor fills a gap in the Ford F-Series lineup that we imagine the NASCAR set have clamored for - a hot-rod pickup truck.
Where the F-150 Raptor is designed to go quick on anything, the Tremor and its 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 are designed to tackle the road. The 365-horsepower and 420-pound-foot EcoBoost is unchanged from the rest of the F-150 line, but it combines the shortest drive ratio with the lightest two-door body, making it a bit of hot rod.
Ford will be offering hot laps with Michigan native Brad Keselowski behind the wheel of the Tremor for fans that arrive in the Irish Hills on August 14. The main showing for the new pickup will be the August 17 race, though, when it'll lead the field at the start of the race and through cautions.

Ford S-Max Concept proves minivans aren't always minivans [w/video]

Tue, 10 Sep 2013

Ford's latest don't-call-it-a-minivan is called the S-Max Concept, and it's a looker. As you can see, the conceptual overgrown hatch makes good use of Ford's latest design language, especially at the very front of the S-Max, which bears a striking resemblance to production models that include the Focus, C-Max and Fusion.
Powering the S-Max Concept is a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine, and while Ford doesn't actually list power figures for the concept, previous estimates put the mill at 133 kW of power (about 178 horsepower) and 240 Nm of torque (about 177 pound-feet). Inside, there's room for seven passengers and at least some of their luggage.
As you'd expect, the S-Max is loaded up with all of Ford's latest infotainment technology, including Sync and MyFordTouch. More interestingly, there are also onboard heart and blood glucose monitors that we doubt will be seeing the light of production anytime soon. On that topic, don't expect to see any S-Max-shaped vehicles hitting the US market from Ford, either. Scroll down below for the press release, but not before checking out the high-res image gallery above.
