1964 Ford Thunderbird Base Hardtop 2-door 6.4.... A True American Classic!!! on 2040-cars
Canoga Park, California, United States
This is truly a beautiful car ..With only 75,311 original miles. I bought it from the original owner and still have the original Black Plates, old owners registration and owners manual..All #'s matching..390 Engine runs great!! I did a lot of work on it, so that you don't have to..Here it goes: Interior has new carpet, headliner and seats have fresh coat of tan vinyl paint..updated power window switches and installed classic looking digital stereo with USB input...It has a set of 15" silver painted wire wheels and 4 brand new white wall tires. The exterior is in good shape, but could use some minor body work where the roof pillar meets the body and the heater core has been bypassed. It has a new fuel tank, fuel pump, rebuilt original 4bbl 4100 carburator, new voltage regulator, battery and alternator, cleaned up and painted the engine compartment..new hoses (including high pressure power steering line) and power brake master cylinder, front and rear drum brakes/bearings, inner and outter tie rod ends. Cleaned and repainted trunk area..It really looks and runs nice!! It has a lot of other parts that I installed that I can't remember..99% of the parts are OEM parts..I also have a new decal kit for everything under the hood and trunk. It's probably the nicest one out there at this price....thanks for looking and for your bid...You will Love to drive this American Beauty!!!

Ford acquires Livio to bolster connectivity biz
Thu, 26 Sep 2013Ford Motor Company has announced the acquisition of Livio, a Ferndale, MI-based software development company best known for aftermarket in-car connectivity devices, but also as a supplier of technology for proprietary systems for automakers. Livio, co-founded by Sigal and Massimo Baldini, will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Global Technologies.
"With the additional expertise Livio provides us, Ford intends to continue to lead the next generation of in-car connectivity with technology advancements that give consumers more options to access their devices on the go," said Paul Mascarenas, chief technical officer and vice president, Ford Research and Innovation, in a statement.
Ford is clearly trying to beef up its in-house tech capability around telematics and device connectivity. While the Blue Oval has been a leader in these areas with SYNC and MyFord Touch in terms of getting the systems into as many cars as possible, the execution of the applications have been criticized for glitches.
2013 Ford Explorer Sport
Thu, 04 Apr 2013When one speaks of sporty and fun-to-drive utility vehicles, few would put the Ford Explorer in the same category as the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, BMW X5 or Porsche Cayenne. Yet, with just a few reservations, I'd toss the new-for-2013 Ford Explorer Sport close to that arena for consideration.
As a recap, the sportiest of Explorers is fitted with Ford's twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter Ecoboost V6, making 365 horsepower and 350 pound feet of torque. Acceleration is brisk (figure about 7 seconds to 60 miles per hour), as power goes to all four wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. Contributing to its more athletic demeanor are larger front brakes, a sport-tuned suspension, chassis upgrades, quicker steering ratio and a more aggressive wheel/tire package. Cosmetically, the Sport is distinguished by its blacked-out lights, black trim and noticeable lack of chrome (with the exception of the door handles).
Ford recently handed me the keys to a Ruby Red Metallic Explorer Sport. Rather than mindlessly drive the big seven-passenger all-wheel drive hauler in soccer mom circles around Los Angeles, I loaded up my family and embarked on a long weekend road trip to Yosemite National Park.
RTR Spec 5 Concept shows off 2015 Ford Mustang's drifty potential
Wed, 05 Nov 2014Meet the Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5 Concept, a fully functional drift car that, according to our team in Sin City, has been doling out demo drifts in front of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Destined to be the flagship of RTR's Tactical Performance Line, the Spec 5 Concept is, in addition to its 5.0-liter Aluminator V8 engine, chock full of performance parts that you can buy for your very own 2015 Mustang. In addition to the Ford Racing engine, the OEM parts supplier has lent the Spec 5 an aluminum radiator and a close-ratio six-speed transmission.
ASD Motorsports provided the front lower control arms, while the car itself rides on a fully customized coilover suspension. Magnaflow and American Racing have provided the exhaust system and headers, respectively. 20-inch HRE wheels, designed for RTR, are wrapped in sticky Nitto rubber.
