1964 Ford Thunderbird hardtop. This is an extremely unique vehicle. The entire outside body shell has been stripped to bare metal and burnished for a truly exotic look. The roof is sanded down for an "aged" patina look and satin clear coated. All of the bare metal has been treated with Fluid Film, which is an industrial grade rust inhibitor. It is extremely easy to maintain with a quick wipe down every so often and the Fluid Film is available at most local auto parts stores. The metal on this car is in unusually great condition. There is nothing left to wonder about with metal condition on this one. NO BONDO, literally! There is some patchwork on the left and right quarter panels but as you can see in the pictures, there is no mystery. The car was stripped to reveal exactly what occurred throughout its life and left that way. All of the trim on the car is there and wears a beautiful patina that compliments the theme throughout. It has air ride suspension that can raise the car very high for any maintenance or transporting desired. There is a 5 gallon tank, Viair compressor, 4 valves and 2 switches for front and back control. It has 20 inch wheels that have the center sections sanded down to continue the theme of the car. The tires are in fair condition with heavier wear on the inside of the fronts because it is fun to drive with it almost all the way on the ground. It rides flat on the tread at about half way up. This car turns heads everywhere and fits in well from show car events to rat rod style shows. I have had magazine inquiries on it. for the interior, it is mostly all original and in exceptionally good original condition. It has brand new loop carpet, dash pad, and retro sound stereo with usb and aux inputs for use with android or iphone. There are a few minor seam stitches slightly letting go on the outer tops of the front seats and headliner but this car is not an example of perfection. This Tbird is an example of an old vehicle that has truly outlasted the test of time and becomes a main attraction where ever it goes. Speaking of go, it has a 390ci motor that runs very well backed by an automatic transmission. I have driven this car all over the state of Florida with the ice cold air conditioning on without any hiccups. It has a minor oil leak from the intake manifold which produces about 8 to 10 drops a day. This car is geared towards the owner looking for a simple functioning, low maintenance, work of art that can be enjoyed for it's incredible appeal without the hassle of babying it every step of the way. Get in, drive away, and have some fun! I am happy to answer any and all questions and can be reached by phone (call or text) at 407-970-4046. My name is Tim.

Hurricane Sandy cost automakers 15,000 vehicles, may have ruined up to 200k
Wed, 07 Nov 2012Hurricane Sandy was the largest Atlantic storm in US history, and its total economic impact is just now coming into view. According to Automotive News, Toyota, Chrysler, Nissan and Honda are set to scrap around 15,000 new vehicles ruined by the storm. Nissan alone accounts for about 40 percent of those, with 6,000 Nissan and Infiniti models deeded "un-saleable" due to damage. The company saw 56 dealerships shuttered due to the storm, but 51 of those have since reopened.
Toyota, meanwhile, had some 4,000 vehicles at its Newark port facility, and of those, 3,000 may be scrapped. An additional 825 were dealer inventory when they were ruined. Honda and Acura dealers are reportedly sending 3,440 vehicles to the salvage yard. By comparison, Chrysler weathered the storm fairly well with 825 units destroyed, while Hyundai suffered only 400 lost units and Kia scrapped around 200.
As you may recall, Fisker also suffered some losses, and Automotive News reports the manufacturer saw 320 Karma models damaged beyond repair. Ford and General Motors have yet to come up with estimates, and no automaker has commented on the full cost of replacing the vehicles.
Roush getting back into sport compact business with Focus ST mods [w/video]
Wed, 29 May 2013Roush Performance offers a whole raft of parts for folks looking to tune their Ford Mustang and F-150 models, and now Focus owners can start getting in on the hotted-up action, too. Owners of the 2012-13 Focus and 2013 Focus ST can now get a Roush cold-air intake system, and ST owners can also opt for a high-performance cat-back exhaust.
Although all of these components are now available for order, the parts will ship sometime in July; no word yet on pricing. Down the road, Roush will also offer styling upgrades for the Focus as well as performance tuning upgrades such as engine controller, suspension, wheels and tires. Scroll down for a quick video of what the Focus ST exhaust sounds like, as well as a Roush press release.
How Ford's light lab keeps the sun shining on the new Mustang just right [w/video]
Thu, 02 Jan 2014Anyone who's bought one of those old school metal shift knobs knows they're really cool until they sit in a parking lot in the sun for a few hours. Then they're not cool at all. Likewise, features such as the aluminum dash on the 2015 Ford Mustang can be all kinds of neat right up until the sun hits it just the right way and sends shards of blinding light through the cabin. The Ford Visual Performance and Evaluation Lab is where engineers figure out how to make sure that doesn't happen.
Cars like said Mustang are parked inside the 30-foot reflecting dome under 6,000 watts of lights that can mimic the sun at any time of day and in any weather condition. Engineers can then spend cold, overcast days inside, testing for interior legibility, glare and reflections on every interior and exterior surface as if it were bright and sunny. They can also learn how a car's sheetmetal and colors will look out of doors, all year round.
Ford showed off the lighting lab without the music and interviews three years ago when the Explorer was being prepared. You can watch it at work again in the video below, and read about it in the press release below that.
