Reluctantly putting this car up for sale.

I recently bought it to use as my daily driver here in S. Florida ( which I am doing currently and enjoy driving it everyday ), however our accountant gave us the bad news and we owe way more in taxes than my wife or I anticpated , plus we have a car undergoing restoration that we have to finish paying off.    We are trying to get the funds other ways as well, and if we do, we will pull this car off of Ebay and I will continue to drive it.

1959 Thunderbird - typical T/bird - auto, no a/c, ps/ pb, radio.  Not an unusual or rare model, but still a nice car.  Pretty decent Florida car with a clear title. Runs and drives very well for a 54 year old car.  Recently tuned up, new gas tank/fuel pump.  It is a 10 footer.  Needs interior work ( door panels especially - seats are good, as is headliner ) and some trim bits here and there.  Nothing that isn't readily available.  There are a couple of rust bubbles coming up on the body ( shown in the photos - on the trunk lid and hood ), but the rest of the car seems fine.  It was repainted at some point in the past ( don't know when ) and is a brighter white than the Wimbledon White is supposed to be .    If you want a perfect car, then you will have to buy a high dollar restored show car.  If you want a nice car to drive and improve or restore as you enjoy it - this is the car.

Solid floors and trunk - photos of trunk show just surface rust from weatherstrip water leaks but the floor is solid = as is the car floor.  Seatbelts were also just installed in the car last week.

As this is a 54 year old used car, there are no warranties what so ever and it is being sold as/is, where is.

Located in S. Florida - email if you want more photos or photos of something not shown.  Also email if you want to see and inspect or drive the car

Passenger side door window has a crack in it.  I have ordered a replacement and will change it out ( I was going to anyway)

We spy the Ford Mustang King Cobra early at SEMA

Tue, 04 Nov 2014

As is the case with most auto shows, waiting for the reveal of hot new models is the worst part. So, while our own Drew Phillips has been wandering the halls here in Las Vegas since they unlocked the doors for SEMA 2014, we didn't expect him to come back with any big reveals until later in the day. Until this happened.
Meandering by the Ford stand, Phillips eagle-eyed a trunk lid that caught his attention. Popping out from an otherwise draped 2015 Mustang, the matte black lid clearly has the name King Cobra embossed on the rear.
That name is interesting for a few reasons: to start, Ford hasn't used the Cobra name (without "Jet" attached) since way back in 2004, so a new snake is certainly something to take note of. Second, the King Cobra name dates all the way back to the ill-remembered Mustang II, meaning there is a clear link to Blue Oval history here.

Vaughn Gittin Jr. takes his dog for a drift

Tue, 09 Sep 2014

Vaughn Gittin Jr. spends a great deal of his workday going sideways, but he's usually alone in the endeavor. For a guy that is clearly a dog lover, we imagine that can get a bit lonely.
That won't be a problem for Gittin in this latest video, which features the racer hanging out with his good pal Brody (a dog) and everyone's favorite hot hatch, the Ford Fiesta ST.

Want a V8 on the cheap? Buy a work truck

Thu, Aug 3 2017

In case you didn't notice, V8 cars have gotten pretty expensive. If you want a modern muscle car like the Dodge Challenger R/T, Ford Mustang GT, or Chevy Camaro SS, you'll need between $34,000 and $38,000 for a stripped out example of one. The cheapest of those is the Challenger, and the priciest is the Camaro. These are also the cheapest V8 cars the companies offer. But if you absolutely have to have a V8 for less, there is an option, work trucks. As it turns out, all of the Big Three offer their most basic work trucks with V8s. And because they're so basic, they're pretty affordable, especially when sticking with the standard two-wheel drive. A Ram 1500 Tradesman with a V8 can be had for as little as $29,840, which is a little more than $4,000 less than a Challenger R/T. For a bit more at $30,275, you can have a Chevy Silverado W/T, almost $8,000 less than a Camaro SS. The most expensive is the V8 Ford F-150 starts at a starting price of $30,670, which is a bit over $5,000 less than the Mustang. Of course you'll be in an ultra bare bones vehicle with few comforts, and the price will go up if you add stuff, but we're bargain hunting here, and sacrifices are sometimes necessary. Besides, what you lose in comfort, you gain in loads of cargo space and towing (try to look at the bright side). Also, as a side note, all three trucks are available with optional electronic locking rear differentials. At the discounted price of these trucks, you still get a heaping helping of power. The most potent of the trio is the Ram 1500 Tradesman with 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque generated by a 5.7-liter V8. Compared with the Challenger R/T, the Ram is up by 20 horsepower and they're tied for torque. The value proposition is even more stark between the two vehicles when looking at the price per horsepower. Each pony in the Ram costs $75.54, while the Challenger charges you $90.91. The Challenger is also more expensive per horsepower than its close competitors. The F-150's 5.0-liter V8 is just barely behind the Ram with 395 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. That's still more power than the Challenger, and it matches the torque of the 2017 Mustang GT. On the down side, it still would be down 20 horsepower on that same 2017 Mustang, and it's behind by 60 horsepower and 20 pound-feet on the new 2018 Mustang GT. The F-150 also just edges out the Mustang in the dollar per horsepower measure.
