Reluctantly putting this car up for sale.

I recently bought it to use as my daily driver here in S. Florida ( which I am doing currently and enjoy driving it everyday ), however  we now owe way more in taxes than my wife or I anticpated , plus we have a car undergoing restoration that we have to finish paying off.

1959 Thunderbird - typical basic T/bird - auto, no a/c, ps, pb, radio.  Not an unusual or rare model, but still a nice car.  Pretty Florida car with a clear title. Runs and drives very well for a 54 year old car.  Recently tuned up, new gas tank/fuel pump.  It is a 10 footer.  Needs interior work ( door panels  - seats, carpet and headliner are good) and some trim bits here and there.  Nothing that isn't readily available.  There are a couple of rust bubbles coming up on the body ( shown in the photos - on the trunk lid and hood ), but the rest of the car seems fine.  It was repainted at some point in the past ( don't know when ) and is a brighter white than the Wimbledon White is supposed to be .    If you want a perfect car, then you will have to buy a high dollar restored show car.  If you want a nice car to enjoy and drive and enter in local cruise nights or local shows  or restore as you drive it - this is the car.

Solid floors and trunk - photos of trunk show just surface rust from weatherstrip water leaks but the floor is solid = as is the car floor.  Seatbelts were also just installed .   Replacement passenger door glass is on order and will be replaced.  Rest of glass is good and chrome is very good.

As this is a 54 year old used car, there are no warranties what so ever and it is being sold as/is, where is.

Located in S. Florida - email if you want more photos or photos of something not shown.  Also email if you want to see and inspect or drive the car

Ford Focus refresh shots leak ahead of Geneva

Sun, 23 Feb 2014

In case you haven't been paying attention, Ford has been gradually redesigning its lineup to sport a familiar face. The Aston Martin-inspired grille shape debuted on the Fusion and was soon applied to the Fiesta. Even the front end of the new Mustang takes its cues from the same, and we're sure other models will soon be made-over to fall in line. The next on the docket? The Focus.
Set to be unveiled in little over a week at the Geneva Motor Show, the revised Focus has leaked out a tad early, revealing a mild facelift that bears that same trapezoidal grille with horizontal slats. Along with the new grille, the headlights, lower fascia and hood appear to have been reshaped. Around back there appears to be a new rear bumper and taillights, but otherwise the shape remains largely the same as the current model.
Expect the updates to be applied to all bodystyles offered around the world, including the hatchback, wagon and sedan. The engine lineup is expected to carry over largely unchanged, though the plug-in hybrid powertrain from the C-Max Energi could port over to the revised Focus. Plus Ford seems to have taken the opportunity to spruce things up in the cabin some. Check it out in the image gallery above and watch this space for the official announcement as we pack our bags for Switzerland.

Ford talking unibody Ranger replacement

Mon, 18 Feb 2013

Now here's some welcome news. Car and Driver reports Ford is seriously mulling a replacement for the recently deceased Ranger, but the successor to the compact pickup's throne may not look anything like what we've seen from the nameplate in the past.
While speaking at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, Doug Scott, marketing manager for Ford Trucks, said there's still a market for a smaller pickup, but that buyers expect to see a larger differentiation between the smaller utility vehicles and their full size counterparts in price, capability and fuel economy.
According to Scott, that means a vehicle with a payload capacity of around 1,000 pounds paired with a towing capacity of 3,000 pounds and "a dramatic reduction in fuel consumption." But the biggest piece of that recipe is the price tag, and Scott says to keep the MSRP far enough away from the already cheap F-150, the answer could come in the form of a unibody design. Scott says target customers in this market don't care whether the truck has a traditional frame or not, so long as it's tough enough to do the job and has the capability they need.

2015 Ford Focus Sedan is fresh-faced and ready to defend its Most Popular crown

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

Ford has made an art of deeper-than-normal midlife updates since the 2010 Fusion, a strategy that has allowed it to keep models looking fresher in showrooms for longer without needing full redesigns. Instead of slight touchups to light fixtures, new paint colors and perhaps new wheel patterns, Ford has been digging deeper, with significant sheetmetal changes and very different front-end looks, along with an increased emphasis on new in-car technologies to keep models vibrant. Other automakers are following this trend, and Ford itself is continuing on the path with this new 2015 Focus Sedan.
There's a handsome new SE Sport Package that includes a firmer touring suspension, modest body kit and 17-inch wheels.
We first saw this sleek Aston Martin-like nose fitted to a Focus at the Geneva Motor Show last month, but Ford only showed the new look on the five-door hatchback - this is the first appearance of the sedan, which will bow at next week's New York Auto Show. The front end treatment is the same, with a new hood, new headlamps incorporating LED accents, a different grille shape and a completely revised lower fascia that does away with the 2014 model's controversial triangle-shaped corners and gaping intakes. The rear gets a new two-piece, laser-brazed trunk lid with new taillamps, but the overall look is quite similar to last year's car. In any case, the refreshed look brings the Focus sedan more in line with the design of Ford's other recently reworked cars, including the Fusion and Fiesta.
