1957 Ford Thunderbird hard top convertible

This t-bird has 85,000 miles, it has a 312 cu.in 3 speed standard transmission and this car has been garage kept for more than a decade at a time.  This Ford thunderbird is a rare find, this model is one of the most desirable of all collector cars. This car before i bought it was never registered outside of the original owners family.  I have the orgininal sales record for the vehicle and inspection documents and work orders from dealers, and i have a letter of appreciation from mitchell motor sales. It runs good down the road, this car has been repainted in 1990 so it does have small scratches and dings on the body.  This would make a great driver. The radio, clock, and fuel gage do not work.  I have just replaced the gas lines, mechanical fuel pump has been replaced by an electric fuel pump, the gas tank and all lines have been replaced. all brake lines have been replaced and nessary parts. muffler has been replaced. This was really just my fun car and i haven't had the time to enjoy it liked i had hoped.  This is a pick up item only.  I am asking for 500.00 deposit due thru paypal with in 48 hours of closing bid and the rest can be paid in cash when you arrive to pick up the vehicle, the vehicle will have to be picked up with in 14 days of closing.  I have the title for the vehicle.  This is a pick up only item.  I live just outside of Gatlinburg, TN so you can enjoy a little vacation when you come to pick up this beauty you are bidding on... If you have any questions regarding this vehicle please email me or call 865-312-4427 Calvin

Ford supports bid for Detroit Rallycross race with Motown-minded Fiesta ST vid

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

As Ford continues its cheerleading effort to help bring the 2014 Summer X Games to its hometown of Detroit, MI, it has released footage of its 2014 Fiesta ST Rallycross car on location at some of the city's well-known landmarks. This video appears to have been shot around the same time as the previous X Games Detroit video was made, but it focuses 100-percent on rally car action.
With Ford Racing driver Andreas Eriksson behind the wheel, this Fiesta ST lays down some serious rubber atop Detroit's Cobo Hall parking structure, at Belle Isle and around the Michigan Central Depot. Detroit isn't alone in the bid for a three-year X Games contract as Chicago, Austin and Charlotte are also hoping to play host. The winning host city is expected to be announced this summer. Scroll down for Ford's two-minute video showing the Fiesta ST Rallycrossing through the Motor City.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: First production 2015 Ford Mustang earns $300k for JDRF [w/video]

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

We've almost become immune to the huge dollar amounts that collectible cars earn for charity at Barrett-Jackson. To wit, $300,000 for the first production 2015 Ford Mustang initially didn't seem like very much money. In reality, though, it's probably about 10 times the actual asking price for the car, and we're pleased to report that 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
According to Ford, the car's winning bidder will get to "choose a fastback with manual or automatic transmission, and any interior, exterior and stripe color combination offered by Ford on the all-new Mustang." Power will come from a slightly revised version of the well-known 5.0-liter V8 engine that will produce "more than 420hp and 396 pound-feet of torque."
We snapped live images of the 2015 Mustang prototype that Ford had on display here at Barrett-Jackson, and you can check them out above. The official auction description, along with a video of the auction as it happened live, is below.

Detroit 3 and UAW could create healthcare pool

Thu, Sep 3 2015

Healthcare costs continue to multiply in the US with no clear end in sight, but the United Auto Workers and the Big Three are negotiating a way to rapid growth under control. As part of the latest contract talks, the union has an idea to create a healthcare pool across all of its members at Ford, General Motors, and FCA US. If accepted, the company-wide integration would spread out the expenses and create a massive member base for bargaining with insurance companies. Both Ford and GM are at least considering the proposal, according to The Detroit News, and FCA US might be on board, as well. The idea is the work of current UAW president Dennis Williams and is based on the similar pool for the Voluntary Employee Beneficiary Association for retirees. "I've walked through this several ways; I just don't have any other answer," Williams said to The Detroit News. "I do believe this will work. It's worked with the VEBA." Williams was elected UAW president last year and won by an overwhelming margin. He vowed no more concessions to automakers. In addition to healthcare, the two-tier wage system is another major talking point in the contract negotiation because it gives fewer benefits to entry-level workers. Higher wages are also a request. Healthcare costs are a massive expense for automakers and are expected to reach over $2 billion this year, according to The Detroit News. The payments are up nearly 50 percent or more in just the last four years.
