Vehicle came out of sunny Florida. This car was acquired from the 3rd owner I believe. It received a resto-mod style restoration during 2000-2001 and has been gently driven and enjoyed since, entering countless car shows, cruise nights and local car events. This is NOT for the T-bird purist that wants to have a concourse correct car, but it is the T-bird that Ford SHOULD HAVE BUILT back in the 50s, with enough power to blow the socks off any other car out there. Vehicle was also appraised during that time by 3rd party appraisal company that estimated it to be worth in the mid 20Ks (this was back in 2000 and prices are MUCH higher now of course).

Under the hood lies a nearly new GM FB385 engine (FB is short for "Fast Burn", and the 385 is the amount of horsepower this baby pushes to the ground!). Engine was purchased from GM through Jim Butler (ALL RECEIPTS AND DOCUMENTATION INCLUDED, there is a folder 3 inches thick with every single part that went into this vehicle) out of Michigan. Purchased in 2000 and installed shortly thereafter by GM master mechanics and driven only 8350 miles since. It is basically a ZZ4 engine (and we all know how much fun those are) but with a lot more goodies added to it. Below are the detailed specs:

In addition to the motor, the T-bird was fitted with A TON of brand name performance parts, including MSD distributor and MSD performance plug wires, Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold with DUAL Edelbrock 4bbl. carburetors, GM performance valve covers, Flowmaster dual exhaust, Holley electric fuel pump, Autometer gauges, etc. etc.

Mechanically it fires right up and sounds great. Transmission is solid and shifts good through all the gears without any noises or grinding (it is a more modern 700R4, replacing the original Ford automatic that this car originally came with). Car feels great, handles the road nicely, sounds absolutely awesome and is extremely responsive!

Suspension was also upgraded with rear COIL OVER shocks, ALL NEW FRONT END parts, etc to handle the extra power.

Brakes were upgraded with DISCS in the front and switched over to a more current dual master cylinder setup for increased efficiency and safety.

Interior is mostly stock and ALL NEW. Seats were completely reupholstered. Carpet is newer. Door panels are newer as well as newer kick panels. Headliner looks good with no major issues. Dash pad is excellent. Steering wheel normal minor wear. Hardtop looks very good with good headliner with normal wear on the inside. Overall beautifully presentable for a nice driver.

Chrome has been REPLACED THROUGHOUT! (NEW front and rear bumpers and various other chrome trim pieces, some even NOS).

The old girl is NOT perfect by any means of course so please keep that in mind when bidding. Paint is overall GOOD to VERY GOOD overall with NICE shine but not perfect of course (was painted in 2000-2001 so it has some normal wear from driving, as well as a few imperfections here and there like a couple of chips that were touched up, a minor crack in the body by rear driver's side lower quarter, and the like). Doors sag a bit and should have hinges adjusted or replaced. Underside has had various patches on floorboards, and in a few areas in the trunk, including the bottom of the spare tire well (overall looks decent but not factory panels). Frame overall appears solid throughout except for some undercoating that is peeling in various spots and a couple of areas where there have been a couple of modifications for the drivetrain. Not working: power seats (not connected), perhaps a bulb or two may need replacing where needed.

I am sure there are several other things I am forgetting at the moment, so overall she is not perfect and to do it justice should be gently restored to your liking, or you can just drive it as is. Please note, I cannot remember every single issue with the car, nor do I know everything wrong with it, as it is after all over 50 years old so keep that in mind.

If you just want a GOOD LOOKING AND SUPER FUN DRIVER that runs/drives BEAUTIFULLY, then this is the car for you. If you want a concourse correct show car, it will need a considerable amount of restoration to bring it up to that level of course. I ENCOURAGE ANYONE BIDDING OR SERIOUSLY INTERESTED TO COME LOOK AT IT IN PERSON. I WILL BE GLAD TO SHOW IT TO YOU TOP TO BOTTOM SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO.

Ford mulling EcoSport for US? [w/poll]

Mon, 03 Jun 2013

"We certainly have that ability. We're studying it very, very closely." Those are the words of Jim Farley, global head of sales, marketing, service at Ford. The investigation Farley is referring to is the possibility of selling the company's new EcoSport crossover in America.
The diminutive Fiesta-based EcoSport was developed for emerging markets like Brazil and, more recently, China, but it apparently may have a future in the States, where it would form a new entry-level rung below the Escape in Ford's already robust crossover stable. Ford has big plans for its tiny CUV - Farley tells Automotive News that the EcoSport is only available in 10 countries right now, but by 2017, its distribution will have mushroomed to 62 countries. At the time the second-generation model launched at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show as a 2013 model, Ford said the EcoSport would eventually be sold in nearly 100 markets worldwide.
The Brazilian- and Indian-assembled EcoSport is available with a variety of gasoline-powered engines, but the 1.0-liter, three-cylinder EcoBoost giving 118 horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque would seem to be the powertrain of choice for America, as it was recently confirmed for the stateside 2014 Fiesta.

This woman owns the first Ford Mustang sold in the US

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

As Ford celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Mustang with the unveiling of the all-new sixth-gen design, one Chicago women can lay claim to a piece of Mustang history. According to CBS Chicago, Gail Wise was the first person in the US to buy a Mustang in 1964, and she did so two days before the car was even unveiled to the public.
Wise, then a 22-year-old teacher, went into the Chicago Ford dealership wanting to buy a convertible, and a salesperson ushered her over to car covered by a tarp. That car was a baby blue Mustang convertible, which she still owns today - along with the documentation. After sitting for almost 30 years and undergoing a full restoration, the car now looks to be in original condition. The report says that this $3,400 purchase could be worth anywhere between $100,000 and $250,000. While this worked out well for Mrs. Wise, we wouldn't recommend anyone going into a dark, back room of a dealership hoping to get a jump on the purchase of a 2015 Mustang.

Ford GT40 makes historic return to racing at Goodwood

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

Is there a more iconic, American racecar than the Ford GT40? That may be a discussion for another day (although by all means, tell us how wrong we are in Comments), but this video of heaps of GT40s running in the Goodwood Revival races certainly has us thinking that Ford's Ferrari-killer might just be the best racer the Land Of The Free and Home Of The Brave has ever come up with.
That's completely ignoring the fact that the GT40 was largely developed by Brits using American money, but that's besides the point (there was also a rather brash Texan, who had a big role later in development). The resulting vehicle was dominant, besting the cars of Il Commendatore from 1966 to 1969, although it should be noted that Ford's GT40 was unable to beat Ferrari in its first two Le Mans outings in 1964 and 1965.
Those four years of dominance, which started with Ford sweeping the podium, were enough to establish the GT40's legend. And now, here we are almost 50 years later, celebrating the mid-engined monsters at Goodwood, in their first ever one-make race. Take a look below for the entire video.
