1957 Ford Thunderbird (2 Tops)

This is a very clean and presentable car that is very solid and  mechanically sound. The exterior is Starmist blue with white interior. It is a great color combination and shows well. This Bird has a 312 cid engine with a 4bbl carb, Automatic transmission, power steering, front disc brake upgrade with dual reservoir master cylinder for safety, engine dress up kit, heavy duty battery option, heater & defrost, wipers & washers, telescopic steering wheel, town & country radio that works, seat with embossed logo, seat belts, and back up lights. You can jump in and drive this Bird any where. It is ready to go, looks great, drives great, and has just been serviced.

This Bird has a white soft top in new condition with new weather stripping, the top frame looks to be freshly done as well. The top though new, has a tear on each side where some one didn't put it down properly and tore it. It is patched with white duct tape (see pic) and is still a good top. The hard top is white as well and has the port hole option. It has had a fresh engine bay detail and all of the belts, hoses, spark plugs & wires, distributor cap, coolant, oil & filter, fuel filter, power steering fluid, radiator hoses & clamps, heater hoses & clamps, brand new Interstate battery, new shocks, and air cleaner are all new. The trunk bay is very clean as well. It has the original jack assembly and has the  jacking instructions on the bottom side of the trunk lid. The car has 5 new Dayton wide white wall radial tires. The trunk pan is original to the car with no patch work. I pulled the trunk liner to inspect and photographed it. The floor pans, inner rockers, and body braces appear to be original and solid as well. The front and rear bumpers have been rechromed and look very nice, the rest of the bright work is nice as well. The hard top has the rear lower stainless moulding damaged a bit from sitting the top on it while storing it. All of the glass has the Ford logo etched in it as per original glass. The car runs and drives out wonderfully and will not need any thing for a long time. The money has already been spent on all the service and detail work. Spring time will be just around the corner and cruise nights and shows will be back in full swing again before you know it.

Please come inspect it and take it for a test drive. I am in Wentzville, Mo. just 35 miles west of St. Louis on I-70. I also have a 1964 Thunderbird convertible with wire wheels and tonneau cover and a 1966 Thunderbird convertible with tonnaue cover. The 66 is listed now and the 64 will be listed this weekend. Please follow my auctions for upcoming cars. Also check out Vintage Autohaus and Imports inventory at vaitx.com as well.

My name is Greg (806) 477-2201, give me a call with any questions you may have. I can also assist in the shipping process if needed. I am available for inspection almost any time. I reserve the right to stop the ebay ad at any time. It for for sale locally too. Call me, lets make a deal!

Ringbrothers shows off Coyote-powered 1968 Mercury Cougar

Thu, Feb 25 2021

We'll openly admit that not every SEMA build is our cup of tea. But this? A tastefully resto-modded 1968 Mercury Cougar with a 460-horsepower Ford Mustang V8? Yeah, this is right in our wheelhouse. Sadly, there was no in-pwerson SEMA show in 2020, so we missed out on gems like this one. SEMA or no SEMA, the aftermarket carries on, and co-owners Jim and Mike Ring of Ringbrothers (get it?) saw no reason to let their time and effort go to waste.  When they're not building wild customs (see: 1,100-horsepower 1972 AMC Javelin AMX) or more subtle showcases (such as this Cougar or their 1971 K5 Chevy Blazer build from 2018), the folks at Ringbrothers crank out factory reproduction parts, whether for old-fashioned restoration or modification purposes. While '60s muscle cars are recurring build subjects for the two, the Cougar was the first of its kind they tackled.  Keeping it in the family, Ringbrothers sourced a Ford 5.0-liter "Coyote" V8 and a 10-Speed Automatic (lifted from an F-150 Raptor, incidentally) for the build. They didn't stop with the driveline, of course. The suspension was overhauled with a little help from DSE and a set of HRE Series C1 C103 Forged 3-Piece wheels were thrown over upgraded brakes.  "We put our heart into each car we build, and this Cougar is no exception," Jim said. "The finished product is mild and classy, yet any enthusiast instantly knows it's not stock. I imagine this is what Mercury designers would have come up with if they were building the Cougar today." "While we couldn't bring the car to the SEMA Show, we hope it can be shown to the public soon," Mike said. "We had never done a Cougar before, so this was a fun build. I love working with new shapes and coming up with new ideas." There's plenty to appreciate about this Cougar apart from the mechanicals, too. The finish is Augusta Green Metallic (courtesy of BASF), which was a factory color in 1968. You may know it by another name: Highland Green. There are a few custom exterior touches, but they're quite subtle and styled to be period-correct. The interior was also restored and updated, and it's where you'll find the only thing we're not fond of: that big, fat truck shifter. Gearbox choices notwithstanding, it's a bit of an eyesore. But considering how gorgeous the rest is, we'll give it a pass.  Related Video:

2013 Ford Mustang V6

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

Secretary Trim, Evolved
There was a time not so long ago when opting for a base Ford Mustang meant getting little more than some sheetmetal, an anemic four-cylinder engine and what may very well have been the world's most disappointing automatic transmission. During the Fox Body years, Ford seemed hell-bent on living up to Carroll Shelby's derogatory description of the coupe as little more than a runabout for demure office assistants, and the result was a base model with fewer sporting intentions than a Dilbert day calendar.
Some 20 years later, hopping behind the wheel of an entry-level pony is an entirely different experience. With all of the menacing aesthetics of the brawnier GT, a well-equipped interior and a drivetrain that toes the line between efficiency and power better than few before it, the 2013 Ford Mustang V6 is an attractive option for buyers in the big coupe market. But is it attractive enough to forgo the beastly GT?

Ford Focus Electric gets $6,000 price drop, now starts at $29,995

Mon, Oct 20 2014

In early 2013, the Nissan Leaf shed a massive $6,500 from its $35,200 base price to offer a new starting price of $28,800. Since then, we have seen numerous other plug-in vehicles get smaller price tags, from the Honda Fit EV (lower lease price) to the Chevrolet Volt (around $5,000 lower) to the Mitsubishi i (a $6,130 drop). Last year, Ford lowered the $39,200 price of the Focus Electric by around $4,000, but that hasn't been enough to get the Ford EV to really compete, saleswise, with other plug-in vehicles on the market. But wait, as they say, there's more. This past weekend, Ford lopped another $6,000 from the price of both the 2014 model year Focus EVs currently on dealer lots as well as the redesigned 2015 models that are now rolling out (they're basically the same car, minus some appearance changes). Ford spokesman Aaron Miller confirmed to AutoblogGreen that the Focus EV will now start at $29,995 and said that reducing the price should make the Blue Oval's only pure EV competitive. "We hope by reducing the price we're giving consumers another reason to consider it," he said. Through the end of September 2014, Ford has sold just 1,534 Focus EVs in the US (the model sold 1,335 in the first nine months of 2013). For comparison's sake, the Nissan Leaf starts at $29,010 and sells around 3,000 units a month in the US. Miller notes that the Focus EV has been selling the best on the West Coast, and is also doing well on the East Coast. After that, he said Atlanta and the Great Lakes area also see decent sales of model's admittedly small pie. We can only assume that offering the EV for under $30,000 will make that pie somewhat bigger.
