Exterior - The exterior of this car is absolutely stunning in every way. The paint is fantastic quality and has been maintained beautifully over the years. The chrome is shiny and has no signs of pitting or flaking. The body gaps are all straight and even. The doors line up perfectly and do not stick out at the bottom. There are no areas of rust anywhere on this car. There is a tiny ding on the right fender air vent, which I will have repaired before the car leaves. This car has a CONTINENTAL KIT as well which is fully operational and complete. There is a white soft top in nearly new condition and a hardtop included.

Interior - The interior of this car is in beautiful condition and shows like new. The seats are 2-Tone in Black and White. The carpets are fresh looking and there are no tears or wear areas. The hardtop's interior is very nice as well and isn't sagging or discolored. The dashboard and all the interior chrome is in very nice clean condition with no tears or cracks. The power windows, seats, locks and air conditioning is all working as designed. There are no trim items missing. The clock is not currently working.

Mechanical - The mechanicals of this car have been completely gone through within the past 2 weeks. The oil and filter was changed, a new battery was installed, all 4 brake cylinders were replaced and all of the freeze plugs were replaced. The rear differential seal and temperature sensor was also replaced. All of this was a $2200.00 repair done by a knowledgeable repair center. The engine sounds great and pulls very strong in all gears. The power steering and suspension feel great at all speeds. All 4 Whitewall tires look new and even have the rubber knobs still showing. The transmission shifts smoothly up and down.

Electrical - All of the interior and exterior lights are working as designed. The gauges operate properly with no issues. I was unable to get the radio to turn on and I will look into this prior to pick up.

This car includes some extra oil filters, some lighting lenses and a few additional odds and ends. There is a basic car cover included as well.

Ken Block ain't got a care about ruining his wheels

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

During a drifting session at Irwindale Speedway in California, Ken Block made a boo-boo that would send a number of drivers immediately back to the infield. But there's an answer to "What do you do when you bash the wall while drifting and your wheel explodes?" and there's completely different answer when the question begins with the phrase, "When you're Ken Block..."
Instead of us telling you how Block handled the calamity in his Ford Fiesta competition car, you can watch it happen in the video below. You can probably also guess what it is - but it's more fun to watch.

Ford readying 2015 F-150 drift truck for SEMA

Sun, 19 Oct 2014

Between the Mustangs you'd find in Formula D and the Fiestas in the Global and World rallycross championships, there's no shortage of Ford drift cars on the scene. But at the upcoming SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the Blue Oval automaker intends to show off a different kind of drift machine.
Created in collaboration with driftmeister Vaughn Gittin, Jr., this custom F-150 has been designed for "on- and off-road capabilities, as well as drifting and jumping." It's got a suspension with components from Kibbetech King and Air Lift Performance to give it 12 inches of travel and comes packed with 5 Recaro seats. Other details remain limited, but if the rendering above is anything to go by, it ought to be pretty awesome.
Alongside the Gittin truck, Ford will also be showcasing another F-150 designed together with freestyle motorcross rider Brian Deegan, packing the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine and a long list of enhancements. Between these two trucks, Ford hopes to extend its winning streak for the Hottest Truck award that it's taken four years running now. Feel free to read more in the press release below.

2015 Ford Transit

Wed, 11 Jun 2014

As a segment, fullsize vans are stealth-fighter invisible on most consumers' radar. Visit a dealership for any of the four brands that offer them and you'll be lucky to find even one on display. These are commercial vehicles primarily, even more so than pickup trucks. Vans are the shuttles for plumbers, caterers, carpenters, concrete layers, masons, electricians, florists and flooring, and a huge part of this country's productivity is accomplished using them. At the moment, Ford is the 800-pound gorilla in that room - fully 41 percent of commercial vehicles wear a Blue Oval. So when Ford announced three years ago it would be ditching its commercial bread-and-butter E-Series, it meant the Transit that would be replacing the Econoline had huge, 53-year-old shoes to fill.
We were still a bit nostalgic about Econoline vans going away until going directly from the Transit first drive in Kansas City to an E-350 airport shuttle. Climb up through the Econoline's tiny double doors and bang your head on the opening, crouch all the way to your seat then enjoy a loud, rattle-prone, creaky, harsh ride on beam-hard seats while struggling to see out the low windows. This is an experience nearly every traveler has had. By comparison, the Transits we'd just spent two days with were every bit of the four decades better they needed to be. It cannot be understated just how much better the Transit is in every single way. The load floor is barely more than knee high. There's a huge side door, and hitting your head on a door opening is nearly impossible. Stand up all the way if you're under six-foot, six-inches - no more half-hunching down the aisle. There are windows actually designed to be looked out of. The ride is buttery smooth, no booming vibration from un-restrained metal panels and no squeaks. Conversations can be held at normal levels rather than yelling over the roar of an ancient V8. The seats are comfortable. The AC is cold. There are cupholders.
Enough anecdote-laying, what's in a Transit? We're talking about a very fullsized unibody van that's enjoyed a 49-year history in Ye Olde Europe. This latest iteration is part of the "One Ford" initiative, so it was designed as a global offering from the get-go, eschewing the body-on-frame construction the E-Series has used since 1975. Instead, the Transit integrates a rigid ladder frame into an overall frame construction made of high-strength cold-rolled and boron steel. The suspension is a simple but well-tuned Macpherson strut array up front with a rear solid axle and leaf springs.
