-I am a private seller, this is my personal car
-Ingot Silver Metallic w/Charcoal Black Leather Interior
-21k miles
-Clean Title/CarFax

Great condition, this is my daily driver. Perfect commuter vehicle, it has the fuel efficient 3.5L V6. With a mix of city/hwy driving I average just under 22mpg.  All highway it easily gets 27+mpg.  Not bad for a full size sedan loaded with options.

This is an SEL model, which includes:
-Projector Beam Halogen Headlamps
-Supplemental Park/Fog Lamps
-Power Heated and Folding Mirrors w/Approach Lamps
-Securicode Keyless Entry
-Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel w/Cruise and Audio Controls
-Dual Zone Climate Control
-Sirius SAT Radio
-Tire Pressure Monitors, Factory Alarm (Keyless Entry)
-Traction Control, ABS, AdvanceTrac
-Selectshift Auto Transmission w/Paddle Shifters

In addition, it has the Rapid Spec 202B package, which includes:
-Microsoft Sync
-Reverse Sensing System (Rear Sensors and Integrated Rearview Mirror Camera)
-LED Ambient Lighting (can change to: White, Red, Blue, etc...)
-Push Button Start
-Electronic Adjustable Pedals
-Sony 12 Speaker Sound System (6 Disc CD, Bluetooth Audio/Phone, USB/3.5mm Jacks)
-19" Painted Aluminum Wheel Upgrade (as seen on the SHO trim level)

It was also optioned with a few extras (on top of the Rapid Spec package above):
-Power Moonroof
-Power Heated Leather Seats (Driver and Passenger)

I have a PDF of the electronic window sticker; the factory window sticker is also included with the vehicle. If interested, just let me know and I will email you a copy.

It is also still under the 5yr/60k mile Ford powertrain warranty (including roadside assistance).

Great car, low miles, needs nothing. I just brought it in for its most recent oil change and tire rotation at Ford (dealership, not a quick lube).  It also passed the multi-point inspection with flying colors (I can send a copy of the report, not a single flaw or item that needs attention).  Drives very smooth, has ample leg room front and back, a large quiet cabin, and massive trunk. I'd have no problem with a prospective buyer having it inspected at a Ford dealership prior to sale. I am a neat freak, my car is regularly vacuumed/washed and parked at the back of lots to avoid any damage. It is garage kept.  NO dings, dents, curb rash, etc...  No keys to mess with, just carry the fob in your pocket and you can open the door and start the car with the touch of your finger.  The Sony 12 speaker sound system is a great factory setup as well, I stream music from my iPhone wirelessly via bluetooth.

I am also throwing in my adjustable phone mount (as seen in a few pics holding my iPhone 5).  It's a great accessory and is fully adjustable to accommodate a number of different phone and case sizes.  It's not the usual 3M variety that sticks to your dash.  This mount is specifically made for the Ford Taurus and bolts to a factory stud behind the dash bezel.  Easily removable as well, does not alter anything, looks factory.

If you're local (Chicago, IL area) I'm available to show the car in Oak Lawn or after work in Westmont.  I've sold a few of my previous cars on eBay out of state with no issues, feel free to check my feedback.  I'm near both major airports (O'Hare and Midway).

Comes with both Intelligent Access smart key fobs.

Any questions, just ask. I can send you the VIN if you'd like to run a Carfax. All pics taken by me with my DSLR. I have more I can send if you need any others.  I'm easy to work with and take excellent care of my vehicles.  I am NOT a car salesman, I just believe in detailed ads.  A credit union would have no problem financing this vehicle.

Thanks!

Kawei K1 pickup blatantly copies Ford F-150

Thu, Apr 24 2014

The Chinese auto industry used to be looked at as a joke full of products blatantly copied from foreign vehicles. However, companies like Qoros and others show that the country's automakers have taken big steps in terms of original design. It doesn't look like every automaker there is ready to put down the tracing paper yet, though. Case in point: The Kawei K1 pickup pictured above, which is an obvious rip-off of the Ford F-150. In fact, the company isn't even hiding it. Kawei deserves a little credit for its openness. In describing the new model, it says: "No matter the black net grille and the outline of the headlamp, even if the styles of fog lamp and engine cover, it looks the same as Ford Raptor." It also admits that spelling out the model name on the hood is inspired by Land Rover. It's available with either a 2.4-liter, gasoline-fueled four-cylinder producing 141 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque (elsewhere it also lists it as having 162 lb-ft) or a 3.2-liter six-cylinder diesel with 106 hp and 181 lb-ft. Regardless of engine, power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. The trucks cost around 100,000 Yuan ($16,033). So at least the K1 is a reasonably priced knockoff. According to Car News China, the K1 is actually selling in small numbers. The company made 10,000 of them last year and even exported some to Africa and the Middle East. Kawei's factory is doubling in capacity this year to build even more. You can read more about the truck on the company's website in some very mangled English. Ford files trademark application for 'Model E'

Fri, 27 Dec 2013

In early December, Ford filed an application with the US Patent and Trademark Office for the name "Model E." Historically, Ford never produced a Model E, and while automakers are known to file for trademarks they never use, some have wondered if the application might be used for a concept car.
Based on other recent events, though, it could be a legal move. In 2000 Ford sued an online start-up called Model E over the similarity of that name to Ford's industry-shaping Model T, but the judge dismissed the case citing lack of proper grounds. In August 2013, Tesla applied for trademark registration for Model E, and at the time, Ford said it would review the application. Tesla actually made two applications for Model E, one for automobiles and structural parts therefore, the other for "providing maintenance and repair services for automobiles," and there are plenty of theories about what the name could be applied to.
The Published for Opposition date for Tesla's applications is December 31, 2013, after which anyone who thinks they'd be harmed by Tesla being granted the trademark gets 30 days to register their issues. This is just speculation, but Ford's application - which was filed for automobiles only - might be about protecting what it sees as unwelcome encroachment on the name Model T, protection it wasn't able to enforce before when the stakes were only online and much smaller.

2016 Ford Explorer configurator reveals $30,700* base price, Platinum starts at $52,600*

Wed, Nov 26 2014

The a la carte menu for the 2016 Ford Explorer is ready for your... umm... exploring. The first page of the refreshed model's configurator reveals the lineup, including the new Platinum trim, and price increases for three of the carryover models. The base Explorer doesn't change by one red cent: it can still be had for $30,700. The XLT needs $33,400 (a $400 price bump), the Limited goes for $41,300 (a not insignificant $2,900 price increase), and the Sport requires $43,300 (a $200 increase). That new Platinum model goes where no Explorer MSRP has gone before, beginning at $52,600 (*all prices are subject to an $895 destination charge). However, since Ford has put almost everything in it, you can't jack the price up too much further unless you lose your mind in the accessories catalog. You can quickly head that way lower down the order, though. The Limited's price jump appears to be due to the voice-activated navigation system, which comes standard; it was formerly part of a $2,600 option package. The Limited goes up by just $995 when specced with the new 2.3-liter EcoBoost, which raises the power over the 2.0-liter EcoBoost it replaces to 270 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, but doesn't incur any fuel economy penalty. All-wheel drive tacks on another $2,000, safety features like active park assist and lane departure warning come as part of $3,000 Equipment Group A, and you'll still have another three pages of options to get through. On the other hand, if you just want to get your family bundle into an Explorer without spending a bundle, the base model doesn't offer any packages and only has one option over $200. Let the research begin.
