Hello you are bidding on a very nice damaged 2013 Ford Taurus SEL with 25,829 miles. The car is being sold as is with clear title. The vehicle sustained damage to the right front of the vehicle. The damage appears to be to the outside of the rail. The vehicles interior is in like new condition, and the vehicle is equipped with leather and sync screen information screen. The vehicle will need the following parts, front bumper cover, right fender, right inner fender liner, right headlight, wheel, tire, washer bottle, plastic piece that goes around the front bumper rebar, misc clips and mounting hardware, and misc trim on the front bumper cover. The right inner fender structure is rolled in but should be able to be pulled out and repaired. The vehicle does start and run and drive. The vehicle appears to have a good radiator and good ac condenser. The hood has some damage on it but very minor should be able to be repaired no problem. The plastic bolt in core support may be cracked once you take car apart. The parts are available used and new at car-pat or on www ebay com. The car is being sold as is damaged with clear title. Experts wonder if aluminum F-150 gives Ford a real advantage
Mon, 17 Mar 2014There's no doubt that Ford is taking a risk in producing the body of its upcoming new F-150 pickup truck in aluminum. What is up for debate, however, is whether aluminum was a wise risk to take in the first place. Wards Auto took the opportunity to poll some experts on the subject of aluminum versus steel in the automotive sector, with somewhat unsurprising results.
Richard Schultz, a project consultant at Ducker Worldwide, which bills itself as "a leading aluminum industry consultant (though they also deal in steels), suggests that the potential drawbacks to aluminum - higher costs, lower supply - aren't really impediments to the auto industry's increased acceptance of the lightweight metal.
Similarly, Randall Scheps, global automotive marketing director for Alcoa, a massive aluminum producer, counters claims that aluminum is less safe for vehicle occupants, suggesting that the use of aluminum can actually increase safety as it could potentially allow for larger vehicles with more crush space than steel.

Ford's global performance vehicle chief engineer, accompanied by senior exterior designer Bruce Williams, sat down with the publication to discuss the concept and development of the automaker's super off-road F-150.
Designing a high-performance pickup in 2008, right when the cost of gasoline was going through the roof, seemed insane at the time, but the team pushed forward with the innovative vehicle regardless. The interview includes plenty of Ford B-roll footage as visual candy, and the conversations include discussions about exterior design, ride comfort, anti-lock brake tuning, suspension engineering, weight reduction and why it was necessary to make the Raptor visually different than Ford's standard F-150. 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost already hitting 12-second quarters
Sun, 28 Sep 2014The arrival of a new Ford Mustang means many things to many people, but not least of them is drag racers. The pony car has always been a mainstay of the drag strip, and the Ford Racing team aims to carry that reputation forward with this latest generation. So it cooked up a few basic modifications on three new 'Stangs and headed to the strips at US 131 and Milan Dragway to see what they could coax out of 'em.
Impressively, the 5.0-liter V8 Mustang GT with a few modifications (but no forced induction) managed to clock a quarter-mile time of 11.77 seconds. Another Mustang GT fitted with a supercharger clocked a blistering 10.97 seconds. But just as intriguing was the modified EcoBoost model that, with only four cylinders and 2.3 liters of displacement, still passed the gates in just 12.56 seconds - nearly half a second better than expected. This with modification limited to a new subframe, half-shaft, drive shaft loops, exhaust, engine calibration, slicks, roll cage and bucket seat. Well done, boys.
