I have owned this car since Dec 2007. I bought it in Texas as a second car used for occasional trips and to escort customers. I have added a little over 13,000 miles in that time. The only time the car failed to start was when the battery died. Since I purchased it, it has been in a garage until last year when it was moved under a carport. The car was originally from Michigan where it started as a leased vehicle. At 3 years old it had less than 30,000 miles. It now has just over 43,100. I no longer do the type of work where I need a nice second car for customers and rarely drive this car so it is time to sell it. For a car this age the interior is nearly perfect as is the outside. Everything on the car works as one would expect it to as if it was much newer. I have had the car serviced every 3,000 miles. The tires were put on last year and still look new. My mechanic says the only thing he knows this car needs is to have the rotors turned the next time the front pads are replaced because there is a slight vibration upon firm braking. The right front speaker buzzes a little. The car comes with the original owner's manual. Kelly Blue book puts this car at over $6,000 in a private party sale. The front seats have been covered since I purchased the car to preserve the cloth. A dash cover is on the car to protect the dash from cracking in the Texas heat. The car is now in Southeastern Kentucky. I drove it from Texas to Kentucky on several occasions with no issues. In stop and go traffic it gets about 18-19 mpg and the best highway mileage I have recorded is 26. At 70 mph it does about 22.
I will not sell to overseas buyers and shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, if required. I will work with any shipper. A $250 non-refundable deposit is required up acceptance of your offer and remaining funds must be verified before I will release the car.

Ford Fiesta banned from SCCA autocrossing because of rollover risk
Wed, Jan 14 2015Autocross can be a great way to break into motorsports, especially at SCCA events that allow run-of-the-mill, street-legal vehicles to be run through the cones in parking lots across the country. But while a wide array of vehicles are eligible, not every one is. And now the Ford Fiesta has been removed from the list of qualifying vehicles in the Sports Car Club of America's Street category for solo events. The removal of the Fiesta was publicized in the latest issue of the SCCA's Fastrack News bulletin, which stated that, due to roll-over risk, Fiestas "do not meet the requirements and are to be removed" from the HS category of eligible vehicles. H Stock (or HS for short) is the lowest category of vehicles certified by the SCCA for use in sanctioned events. The disqualification applies to Fiestas from the 2011 model year onwards, and does not apply to the Fiesta ST, which remains eligible. Of course the Fiesta isn't the only model deemed ineligible for SCCA autocross events. According to Jalopnik, other small hatchbacks and crossovers including the Dodge Caliber, Fiat 500, Scion xB and iQ, Nissan Juke and Mini Countryman are also prohibited from competition. We've reached out to both Ford and the SCCA for clarification on the issue, and will issue an update if and when we receive any substantial information.
Ford looks to space robots to improve car-to-car communications [w/video]
Wed, 21 Aug 2013Ford has partnered with St. Petersburg Polytechnic University for three years to research various kinds of connected vehicle communications. The university tie-up is part of its study of space robots, NASA systems created to enable space-to-Earth communication, and the university's own development of systems that enable communication between the International Space State and Earth.
The objective is for Ford to engineer layers of robust networks and redundancy systems that will allow your car to speak to other cars, to emergency vehicles, to infrastructure like traffic lights and buildings, and to the cloud. Benefits would come in just about every area of transit, from avoiding accidents, to getting medical workers to an accident more quickly, to improving the flow of traffic during rush hour.
Check out the press release below for details on what Ford wants to learn from the JUSTIN Humanoid and NASA Robonaut R2, and a video of technical leader Oleg Gusikhin discussing his interest in the project.
Ford Focus Electric gets $6,000 price drop, now starts at $29,995
Mon, Oct 20 2014In early 2013, the Nissan Leaf shed a massive $6,500 from its $35,200 base price to offer a new starting price of $28,800. Since then, we have seen numerous other plug-in vehicles get smaller price tags, from the Honda Fit EV (lower lease price) to the Chevrolet Volt (around $5,000 lower) to the Mitsubishi i (a $6,130 drop). Last year, Ford lowered the $39,200 price of the Focus Electric by around $4,000, but that hasn't been enough to get the Ford EV to really compete, saleswise, with other plug-in vehicles on the market. But wait, as they say, there's more. This past weekend, Ford lopped another $6,000 from the price of both the 2014 model year Focus EVs currently on dealer lots as well as the redesigned 2015 models that are now rolling out (they're basically the same car, minus some appearance changes). Ford spokesman Aaron Miller confirmed to AutoblogGreen that the Focus EV will now start at $29,995 and said that reducing the price should make the Blue Oval's only pure EV competitive. "We hope by reducing the price we're giving consumers another reason to consider it," he said. Through the end of September 2014, Ford has sold just 1,534 Focus EVs in the US (the model sold 1,335 in the first nine months of 2013). For comparison's sake, the Nissan Leaf starts at $29,010 and sells around 3,000 units a month in the US. Miller notes that the Focus EV has been selling the best on the West Coast, and is also doing well on the East Coast. After that, he said Atlanta and the Great Lakes area also see decent sales of model's admittedly small pie. We can only assume that offering the EV for under $30,000 will make that pie somewhat bigger.
